Rated 5 out of 5Â by BurienGal Our friend "R2D2"
My mom and I love our little combo! Named it R2D2 because it's white with flashing lights and emits cute tunes at the end of dry and cool down cycles. Works just great though if you have a large amount of laundry or kids to wash up for this probably isn't for you because it can take 6 hours to do one load. Perfect for a small space and small family. We have gotten into the habit of starting a load every morning but you could also do your laundry at night while you sleep. There is some vibration on final spin out but we put 4 vibration pads under the feet which cut that down to a minimum. Added value: we probably have the only one in our city - quite the conversation starter!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Steve Good things come in small packages.
We live in a townhouse and have a laundry "closet" so our space is very limited. Our previous dryer died after only 3 years and the only replacements (with gas line and vent hookup) for the size we needed were the same cheap brand/model we already had. Our washer was old too and only had one cycle that worked. So after some research, I decided to go for this LG model to replace both a separate washer and dryer.
The size is compact so it fit perfectly. I had to cap off our existing gas line (because it is not needed for this) and I sealed up our previous dryer vent in the wall... again, not needed for this model. I was able to gain so much more room in our closet because of the space saving, so I installed a whole new shelving system which came out great and keeps us much more organized.
I originally ordered this product from Sears (who at the time promised the earliest delivery date.) Long story short, they never actually had it in stock and kept giving me a new delivery date each week it was supposed to show up. This went on for over a month before I canceled the order with Sears and literally called up Home Depot who was able to deliver it within 2 days. I couldn't be happier with Home Depot customer service and the delivery process... no issues, great communication and very professional about everything.
So as to this washer/dryer itself... We were used to having 2 larger sized units before, so we were a little surprised at how compact this actually was... and a little hesitant that we made the wrong decision. It is pretty pricy so maybe a little buyer's remorse as well. But after reading some other reviews, it really just comes down to managing your expectations based on what this was designed to do. This is not a large capacity unit... so don't expect to be able to wash large loads. It is a ventless dryer, which works really, really well, but it does take a bit longer than a traditional dryer.
There's lot's of great options and features and it took us a few days to play around with different cycles and settings before we found what really works amazingly well for us. We now LOVE this unit and are so happy with our decision. A few things to note... this might not be the ideal unit for a large family that needs to do big loads of laundry every day. It's just my wife and I and a 2-year old. With our previous washer, we used to do maybe 1-2 large loads a week and basically just shoved everything in we could. That mindset obviously does not work with this unit. We now have smaller laundry baskets and as soon as one fills up, we just do smaller loads more often now... still maybe only about 3 per week.
We've figured out the "speed" wash cycle works best for us which takes about 45 min for the wash and with the "normal" dryer setting... the dryer cycle takes about 1.5-2 hours. The thing we love best about this machine is that as long as you don't overload it... you put in your clothes, pick your wash setting, pick your dryer setting and then go about your day. When we come home from work, it's done and dry and just needs to be folded and put away. You don't have to wait for the wash to be done and then transfer wet clothes to a separate dryer... it's all done in one unit... That's so convenient for us and works great. We also love the fact that folding and putting away our laundry is so quick now because it's a smaller load... duh... I know, that seems obvious, but it's just much more manageable in smaller doses.
Other cycles we've tried do take significantly longer as well as dry times... but again... you'll save A LOT of time if you don't overload this. I also use just the dryer every morning to de-wrinkle my clothes (use the "damp" dryer setting for this and take away the spin cycle option)... works great and only takes about 15-20 min. This machine has sensors that weigh each load and the overall dampness to determine dry times. At first, it may say 5 hours to dry a load, but quickly changes as the sensors re-calibrate. Every time I start a de-wrinkle, it says 50+ minutes... and then 5 min. later I look at the timer and it says only 10 min. left... So just know that the timer updates accordingly and it's never as long as it first says.
The high-speed spin cycle can be very loud... but we use the medium speed now and it works just fine without shaking the whole house. The drying process can also be a little noisy and involves a "gurgling" sound as it pulls the water/condensation out from the clothes and drains it through the washer hose... it's not too loud... just not a sound we were used to with a traditional gas dryer. I know my gas bill will go down a few bucks and my electric bill might go up a few bucks... but not significant either way to make that a deal breaker.
Do read the manual. It has a lot of good tips and advice. If you do need to do a larger or bulky load, you will have to remove some stuff before starting the dryer cycle if you want it to go quicker and dry better.
We haven't had any issues with wrinkling on smaller loads. Only when we overpacked it did we have stuff come out a little too wrinkly. Again... if you manage your expectations and change up your way of doing laundry that is more applicable to the way this machine works (and the way it was designed to work)... then it is well worth it. We've had a great experience so far and are very happy with this purchase.
As for our 2-year old... she loves to press all the buttons and she loves the song that it plays. If you have a small child, you'll definitely make good use of the child lock feature which is excellent.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by RBW22 DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE
Do not buy this washing machine. I've had this unit for less than 1-month (21 days in fact) and with every wash it has leaked water, puddling under the washer and spreading across the laundry room floor. LG has been less than helpful in offering assistance, only making me jump through hoops with their useless troubleshooting. I regret purchasing this unit, and as you see for the price you would expect it to work for at least the first month. I've complained to Home Depot as well, and because I am still under LG warranty they are unwilling to help. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DEVICE!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Bernie Failed after 18 months
Looked forward to a long life with this machine. My wife and I live in a small cabin in NC, so the contact size of the LG All in One was what we considered the motivator in buying. We have treated it gently for the past 18 months but during a drying cycle it died. We fortunately purchased the 5 year plan with Home Depot, who have been very efficient in issuing us a credit. However, I don't think I could recommend this unit based on our experience.

This is a great machine to have. Just put some soap in it, push a few buttons and you're done. Come back in a few hours and it dry. There is however a few drawbacks you must consider. Get the protection plan because you will use it. One of the biggest issues with this unit is that lint can build up in a plastic basin in the machine. The basin is a very odd shape and hard to clean out without a bit of know how and certain tools. A google search will show how it's done. We have had it for almost two years. We had the drain pump replaced because the impeller blade detached from the pump and the basin cleaned out twice. One way to minimize the basin cleaning is to run the "Tub wash cycle" at least once a month if not more. Over all I might buy a product like this again, however, LG needs to redesign the the machine so Johnny Q Consumer can clean out the lint himself.
