Rated 1.5 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by one of the worst purchases I have ever made I was astounded to discover that the fan NEVER shuts off. The heating element and A/C cycle on and off but not the fan. I wrote to LG to see if I had missed something and was told that I could unplug the unit to stop the fan! Unless you are interested in clandestine horticulture this is not a purchase that I would recommend. May 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It cools good but broke the first day it has a feature called auto swing and that worked for almost 24 hrs now I have to get that fixed Not looking good July 12, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Heat Out of box Bought two units both no heat. One has no auto swing. Wrote previous review, told was accepted but doesn't appear. Will provide additional feedback after service visit scheduled today. January 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by did not heat or cool! Steer Clear! I bought the unit to use in my upstairs which I hardly ever use. When I tried it for the first time I discovered that it will not heat or cool. now im having to deal with the manufacturer! this thing was a pain to install because its so heavy, i dread having to remove it and haul it back out! Steer Clear! May 23, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a Good Product Please do not buy this product. The heating element is not good over time. I purchased two units 3 years ago and the heating unit on both stop working. LG need to work on producing a better quality product. November 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Recommended I purchased this unit about 8 months ago to cool and heat a 900 square foot room. I live in Louisiana so the summers get very hot. While the unit does cool, in the dog days of summer (June-September) I have to keep the unit on 24/7 to keep the temperature tolerable. The winters are mild and the heat function is practically useless. Putting my hand up to the unit barely feels like heat is even coming out of the unit. The fan runs constantly even if energy saver is on. Be sure to have someone to help because it is very heavy. I do like the auto swing function but this isn't enough for me to purchase another or recommend to anyone. I'd like my money back to purchase another unit from a different manufacturer. Steer clear, keep looking. January 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad-bad We built two laboratories and installed those units in it. The first lab was built in 2007 and the a/c quit working in 2011. The second lab was built in 2009 and the a/c unit quit working in 2013. I replaced both of the units with the same brand/model because it's a direct replacement, no alterations to the building necessary. This week the a/c from the first lab quit working again. That makes five that quit for the same reasons; bad circuit board that cost as much to replace as the new units. Stay clear. May 6, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer Beware! I purchased a 18,000Btu combination A/C and heat unit in 2007. I planned on using this unit to cool/heat a 500 sq. ft space. That is a little overkill, but this is South Texas. It did a poor job, at best. I had to replace it in 2009 due to circuit board failure. It was replaced with a 23,500 Btu combination A/C and heat unit. This on cools slightly better, but the information says it should cool 1170 sq. ft. I don't get it. In 2012, this unit did the same thing. I was told, again, the circuit board failed. I had bought an extended warranty due to the previous problem. In San Antonio, TX, there is one mom and pop fix it company to service ALL LG products in the South Texas area. The first guy wasn't an A/C man and didn't have the parts. A week later, the next guy brought the wrong wiring harness. Another week, that guy got it fixed and broke the fan. Two weeks after that the A/C unit was finally repaired. So, about 5 weeks total we didn't have an A/C unit in the South Texas heat. As a courtesy, the company replaced all the major internal parts (compressor, circuit board, fan, wiring harness, and something else I am not familiar with). Today, it started having the same problem and I assume the circuit board is failing again. Stay clear of this unit unless you are a glutten for punishment. July 14, 2014
