This unit is perfect for installations where a vent or a 220- volt outlet is not available. It washes superbly, dries well, with these caveats:
1) Although the unit is full-size, the dryer does not do
well with large loads.
2) Some items may have a small amount of moisture on
the surface when first removed--this goes away with a
couple of shakes of the item.
3) Condensation-based drying takes longer than normal
hot-air drying; however, the machine has a delay
feature that allows one to begin the cycle during the
night or early morning hours so that the clothes are
finished by morning.
Because one cannot overlap washing and drying, and because the dryer works best with small- or medium-sized loads, this appliance is not well suited for a large family.
Although my laundry room has a ceiling vent and a 220-volt outlet, neither is well-placed. When I had a standard washer and dryer, the run to the vent was so long and had so many turns that even with frequent cleaning my dryer did not dry well. This combination unit works perfectly for me.
One additional note: Because it doesn't have a vent , runs on 110 volts, and doesn't get as hot as a traditional dryer, I am comfortable leaving the house with it running... something I never did with my traditional dryer because of the fire risk.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by WatchItGoRound Good machine for the right person
This is a great machine, for the right person. The washer does an excellent job of cleaning clothes and there are plenty of settings. The dryer does take some extra time but it is not excessive, as other reviews state. If you simply read the directions and find what works best for you, you won't be disappointed. I suggest keeping loads small-medium size for best drying results and I most frequently use the "more" dry option.
It sounds strange but shaking out damp-feeling clothes actually does work! Sometimes the clothes will seem like they are still wet but a quick shake and they are completely dry.
I wouldn't recommend this machine for anyone with a family as only one load can be done at a time, taking ~3 hours. If you are single and willing to do small, fairly frequent loads of laundry, then this is for you! It is very convenient to put loads in and have them automatically washed and dried when you return.
The washer is easy to clean and builds up relatively little amounts of lint. A simple read-through of the directions will show you how to clean out the lint trap.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by andyj2323 Great Washer dryer combo
Best purchase made in a long time. No more trips to laundromat. have to hang the clothes after drying for about a hr to feel completely dry that is the only drawback but that was expected buying a combo unit

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by oldprospector59 LG All in One Washer Dryer enhances my life
For thirteen years, I have had to go to the basement laundry twice a day or more. My arthritis worsened. With the renovation, I wanted to do the laundry in the kitchen. The stackable units took much more space and actually costs more. I never tire of explaining to visitors that it only uses cold water, 120 volts same as a dishwasher and uses only tablespoons of laundry product. Plus, they are amazed and amused at the pretty electronic song it sings.

My laundromat days are history!
I have spent the better part of five years balancing the laundry needs without a washer and dryer in my home. I live in a 1960's condo that wasn't equipped for this type of technology... I guess it didn't exist then?
I heard about this type of all in one machine that doesn't need the large power plug or special exhaust vent and seemed like it would work but I was a skeptic. Once my beautiful and expensive bedding was destroyed in the laundromat dryer with black grease stains I knew my days of doing laundry in a laundromat were coming to an abrupt end.
I bought this machine from Home Depot and found the reviews to make this purchase much more stressful than it needed to be. The folks reviewing this machine on Home Depot's website have a lot more negative things to say and have yet to find them substantiated. The bulk of complaints circle around the fact this is not a conventional dryer. Well duh! It uses a different process to remove the moisture from the clothes by draining the moisture out the drain hose. From what I've observed during the dry cycle the moisture will collect and once enough is available you can hear the pump activate and the moisture draining. Seems to happen every minute, but it is not that loud a noise.
On another major retailers website the reviews are phenomenal. Their name rhymes with years if you want to check the review out ;-)
The wash cycle options are awesome. The fact it has a sanitize setting makes me ecstatic as it super heats the water to kill bacteria. Every few weeks LG recommends to run the machine wash cycle with bleach to flush out residue. I have read this cycle will also free up any lint trapped in the machine.
As for lint, a "Top Reviewer" has claimed there isn't a lint trap to clean and you need to hire a professional repair man to come out and service the machine. In the manual it clearly states there is a lint trap at the base of the machine, near the drain that needs to be cleaned out every couple of weeks. I just completed this process and there is a little tray that comes out when you unscrew it. There was some lint residue left in the mesh basket and I removed it and screwed the tray back in place. Not a big deal and piece of cake!
You will read other reviews where the clothes come out damp and if you shake them it evaporates immediately. I was like what, how can this be? But sure enough after the machine completed the more dry cycle (I have found this works better than normal dry) the clothes do feel damp, but I shake them for a few seconds and they are actually dry. Phenomenal. I have read it is a bad thing to over-dry clothes anyways so this will help preserve my clothes longer. Also, there is no drastic rise in the indoor temperature during the dry cycle.
All in all I was really nervous to make the purchase and redo the plumbing on my kitchen sink to accommodate the water and drainage. The whole dryer complaints weren't helping. After many nightmare laundromat experiences I couldn't handle it anymore and I am so glad decided to give this a try. One of my best purchases and I feel it is worth every penny.
Thank you LG and Home Depot!
