On the outside Led display. Is the light for ice always on. None of the other lights stay on for more than a few seconds.

The manual does not say anything about the outside lights staying on?

Yes, we've had this beautiful LG door in door for almost one month and yes the ice light stays on all the time. I think it's to let you know that everything is on and working! :)

How quick after we plug this fridge in will it be down to the proper temperature?

Just purchased the fridge, and its being delivered tomorrow. We will need to transition our food into the new one, as old one is being hauled away. what is length of time it takes for the temperature to hit the proper food cooling temps? We don't want to have any food spoil during the transition. Thank you

It took a few hours for the fridge to cool down. We have a stand-alone freezer and small fridge in the basement where we stored our perishables during the transition. I think they recommended waiting four hours or more? I just let it sit overnight.

When it is necessary to move the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 30 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator with Door-In-Door Design in Stainless Steel, Model # LFXS30766S through a narrow opening, removing the doors is the recommended procedure. The door is not off when the refrigerator is delivered. You will want to measure the path of delivery to ensure that the refrigerator will have enough clearance in all areas from the delivery truck to the final installation location and you will need to measure the area where the product will be located for the same. You will find the required measurements under the unit's specifications on its' product page on the Home depot site. This refrigerator has a depth of 29 1/2" without the door so the minimum door opening you can have is 30". You will need to contact the Sales Associate who handled the transaction for when the refrigerator was purchased or contact the Home Depot Delivery Services to let them know that the door will need to be removed if necessary so that they have the right tools. You should have all the pertinent contact information on your receipt or bill of sale...^IFV

Do nòt buy Absolute piece of $3000 garbage Bought in 2012 replaced in 2013 by Lg. Fought with Home Depot for 4 years under there protection plan to fix fridge. Service center was out 12 times and to this day ice maker does not work, freezer does not cool below 20, fridge does not cool below 40, and there is a loud fan rattle noise when the compressor runs. Stay away from this product. If you want an extended warranty you better buy your appliance some where else, Home Depot protection plan is a joke.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I've had this refrigerator for just over a year and a half, and it's already had an expensive ($2... I've had this refrigerator for just over a year and a half, and it's already had an expensive ($270+) repair for a failed Refrigerator Fan unit. The first model Home Depot delivered was the standard stainless steel model. Although the unit was sealed prior to delivery, it was dented all over the front panels and had impossible to remove fingerprints as well. We decided to go with the Black Diamond model, as it was supposedly more resistant to fingerprints. The second delivery was also dented. These front panels are not durable. The third model delivered was by a third company, who took the time to go through and verify that everything looked good prior to leaving. I like the refrigerator, although it has many issues. Somewhere about month two or three, I ended up seeing dents on the front panels. I'm not kicking my fridge, nor is anyone else in the household. We're careful. And the dents are halfway up on the bottom, so not really something that could easily be done by someone's knee or foot. It's ankle-height. I'd already went through THREE replacements, so I was a little in Stockholm Syndrome at this point. "Was it me? Did I kick the refrigerator?" No. I did not. But I failed to call Home Depot or LG to complain, so now I'm stuck with it. This finish is marketed as fingerprint resistant. It's not really. I still have to clean it all the time to keep it looking good. This is the last time I will purchase a stainless steel product, fingerprint resistant coating or not. Don't believe the hype. Test it in-store. I like the refrigerator. It's roomy with lots of features. This is my first bottom-freezer model, and it has its benefits. Energy efficiency being one of those things. Also, I love the Door-in-Door feature. When you put common items in there that you use all the time, it saves you from opening the main doors, which saves a lot of energy! There's a weird thing where, if you open the right door first, and then open the left door "too quickly," the little flap will open all the way, and then slam halfway back, so when you try to close the door, there's a loud SNAP! sound when the right door hits the halfway closed flap. I can both reproduce the problem consistently (by opening it "too quickly"), with the workaround being to make sure I open the doors in the proper order and/or more slowly and with less force. It's super annoying, and took me months to "program" my arms not to open the doors the "improper" way, but maybe LG will redesign this little flap in the future? The freezer itself is nice, with a deep bottom layer, and two shelves (a medium and a small) stacked above that. I can fit a lot of stuff in this unit. The ice maker has worked well thus far, and it's nice having the crushed and whole cubes. I've had to replace the water filter a couple of times now, and it's nice to see that there are off-brand (but fully compatible) filters that you can find, that come in a three-pack for the same price as the single-pack from LG. Frankly, I don't like the warranty, my service options, and the stress of knowing that there is only one service company in my area (I'm in a major metropolitan city, so no excuses there) that handles LG. The rest of the companies will not or can not touch LG products because A) they have non-standard parts between models, making it impossible to maintain a decent inventory locally (so all parts have to usually be ordered) and B) LG apparently makes it challenging for repair vendors to get training and resources to fix these things. So out of the 10 reputable places I called in my geography, 9 said they hated LG, wouldn't touch LG and even if they could, they wouldn't guarantee the service. Wow! So here I am, with a refrigerator that cost me close to $3,000, and I'm paying 10% after a year and a half to fix what is most likely a very small problem (a fan in the back). It's a small problem, but it also is apparently a common one. The service tech said that the fans aren't designed to withstand the condensation that occurs in the refrigerator, so they fail semi-regularly. Sounds like a very bad design to me. I mean, it's a refrigerator. There's going to be cold condensation in a refrigerator/freezer. Make it so the fan lasts more than a year and a half. So, overall, my experience with LG has been terrible at the very beginning, and less than a year out, but for the first year, I enjoyed this unit. If you buy this unit, you should FOR SURE purchase the extended warranty, and make sure it covers the longest duration, multiple incidents/problems, and is all-inclusive. This baby is designed to fail, and sooner than you'd expect. I'm giving this a four-star for features, and a one-star for the delivery, damage, and longevity-related (and expensive) failure. Is this the first of many failures to come? Is it a lemon? I'm not sure yet. But I do know that this is the last LG product I will ever buy. Period.

Only warranted for 1 year. Just a few months past that the PCB fan assembly goes out. Vibrated like a truck! No coverage, $450 to fix. LG's response was gee so sorry you're out of warranty- even though the service tech said there was an LG service bulletin about this very problem. I registered my purchase so why was I not informed? Had it fixed last week and 3 days later, it vibrates like a mack truck yet again, wakes you up in the middle of the night. So now have to pay for yet another $90 service call. Junk! My Next Fridge will be a Maytag!

Although this fridge has ample room and nice features, that's all you'll get is cabinet space with cool lighting. Paying 3k for a fridge that only lasted 2yrs and 1 week and the entire fridge goes out is the POOREST quality I've ever seen... on top of that they aren't willing to do anything to compensate you to either get it fixed or replace it. Repair person is saying the compressor went out (VERY common from what I've heard on these compressors), the control board, the evaporator and condensor.... so basically the entire sealed system and the control board (which isn't covered in warranty). The Wi-Fi is a freakin joke as well... trying to connect to it and it's saying there's nothing wrong or can't diagnose any issues when in essence the whole thing is broke. Worst customer service ever as they won't return calls or do anything for you. I'll never give LG any business again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy it Purchased this fridge in December of 2014. In June of 2016 just outside of the warranty period it stopped cooling. Was forced into using the LG certified repair person which took forever to get an appointment. Was told the sealed system needed to be replaced. 2 weeks to get first appointment to diagnose the issue. Over a month for the parts to come in. (They were on back order because so many people are having issues with these units.) When you call LG they are not helpful at all. There are chronic issues with LG refrigerators and I will not be buying another LG appliance. If you don't believe me check out all the complaints for these same issues on the consumer affairs website. The fridge looks good but has serious reliability issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Fridge ever! Bought this fridge in March of 2015. Within 4 weeks we has two service calls for ice forming in the freezer area. Both times we called the customer service line and they basically blamed us for it. We were able to convince them to send out a tech, 10 days later they showed up and said that an internal seal was installed backwards. Recently the ice maker started filling up with water and flooding the fridge. If you care about your food avoid this pile of garbage. Read the online reviews they are telling to spend you hard earned dollars on another brand.

I didn't think I would like the lower freezer, but everything including frozen pizzas fit! Food stays fresh longer. Love the water despenser on the outside so I can fill pitchers, my dogs bowl, and pots of water! My life is so much easier with an organized refrigerator!
