Probably.
Please bear in mind that front-load washers generally can tolerate a somewhat compressed load. As long as the item[s] can move freely once wet, they can be washed. Washing is accomplished by 'rolling' the load into and out of the water at the bottom of the drum.

The LG 4.0 is quite capable of washing the comforters we have (queen and twin, in our case) with room to spare. Gentle cycles ('delicates,' 'hand wash'), of course.
I have no doubt it would also handle a standard sleeping bag. Zipper might be noisy, though.

I have a Cal King down comforter that I have washed in it just fine. No drama there and it seemed nice and gentle to the down so I didn't lose many feathers. I have a smaller dryer so that is more tricky but a few tennis balls, and taking it out part way through to rotate it so it doesn't twist up so much seems to help.

Answer:
That's an interesting idea. But I'm not sure how they would do that since the drum rotates around its horizontal axle. It's full of tiny holes, which wouldn't let much of a backlight go through. And it's a little bit humid in there to put electricity (like a pool light?). They could put one in the door, but you'd block it every time you reach in to get clothes. Thus, no, not in this model.

Answer:
Nope. Hinge is on the left and not reversible. Its a big bummer for us! Dryer is reversible but most companies don't have reversible Washer doors anymore. I was told electrolux does but don't know for sure. My Repair guy said stick with LG so we just did that despite the door.

The hinge is on the left, and it is not reversible by the homeowner. That would probably be a factory installation issue if it's possible at all.

the washer opens from the right to left, and the dryer opens from left to right. So when they are placed next to each other with washer on your left and dryer on your right you can have both doors open and transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer easily. I dont think the doors can be reversed.

Most HE detergents on the market are the same cost as non-HE detergents. Since buying my LG washer, I have switched to Tide HE, exclusively. That is all I use for darks and whites. I find, while costing more than cheap detergents, Tide cleans the best, period. My laundry is always clean and fresh smelling. Tide HE leaves no residue in the drum and no suds in the sink. If you dare, use a non-HE or a cheap HE-like detergent, and look at the amount of suds left in the sink after a load. You will switch to a good brand of HE detergent soon after seeing the mess.

only use HE detergents otherwise you will not be happy with results. HE detergents are low suds and will rinse better with low water. Regular detergents have high suds and will leave residue in clothes and in washer resulting in odors in machine.

Because front loaders use gravity and drop clothes into a puddle of water they only use 12-14 galons of water per load, as apposed to 30-50 gallons like an agitating top load. Regular soap will ruin and create odor in an HE machine. Even some top load agitator units are HE now and everthing seems to be headed in the HE direction. The only way to get a machine that does not require HE soap is to buy a very basic entry level agitating non HE top loader which are getting increasingly hard to find.
