We've had this washer for 3 years and we've not had to call in anyone for repairs yet! If there is a problem with the washer it will display an error code that you can look up on your smart phone and most likely easily fix (like an unbalanced load).
The cycles are timed, which is great. And there is a short cycle option for quick washes of lightly dirty loads. If you are washing a larger or heavier loads, like towels or winter bed sheets, you can expect the cycles to take longer than usual. This is a little annoying, but expected.

Purchased this back in December 2013. Machine always goes unbalanced. Sometimes it takes hours just to do one load! Don't waste your money.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on the washer OR dyer. The "flow sensor" light on the dryer keeps coming on during every load. I just got my appliances 6 days ago and this has happened with every load. Instructions say this error means something is blocking the air flow in my venting but that's not the case as this NEVER happened with my old dryer (which worked fine until they took it away... I just wanted to upgrade to new High Efficiency machine). We even purchased the new vent/duct that was required by Home Depot when they delivered the new machines.
The washer and dryer don't even match in color. Washer is a brighter white than the dryer and they look like an unmatched set; dryer looks beige in comparison (see picture).
I can't reach clothes at bottom of the tub and I'm 5'6". I struggle to reach the small items (socks underwear) at the bottom of the tub. When I try to reach into the tub, my body hits the controls located on the front of the washer, and turns the machine on. Having the controls on the front is not as convenient as I thought it would be - more of a nuisance.
Further research suggests you shouldn't use detergent pods in the washer because the powder doesn't dissolve as well in these machines due to the limited amount of water and dryer research show dryer sheets (bounce, etc.) react with the magnetic sensors and they quit working. LG's reply to some comments I've read state the dryer sheets leave a waxy build up on the sensors and they won't cover that under their warranty.
Other downfalls are the top of the appliances are sloped/angled on the top and therefore reduces the effectiveness of having a working area to fold/set clothes on... and again, with more reading online I see that the various detergents/shout can react with the painting design on top of the machines and the "ink" smears or comes off entirely - and we typically lay out our clothes on the tops of the machine when treating for stains, etc.. so I'm anticipating this problem in the future too.
Buy at your own risk... don't fall for the clean looks of these machines, you might get washed up in the end.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dino The worst washing machine ever!!
I bought this washer a year and a half ago and have had nothing but problems. Nothing ever gets clean!! I have taken items to a friends and washed them in her washing machine and spots come out immediately even though I washed them several times in this LG and they never came out.. I have called and emailed LG numerous times and get the same stock answers - too much detergent, not enough detergent, the hoses connected backwards etc. I even had one of the repairmen come out who told me he often hears this problem with this machine. The company itself is totally unresponsive when you approach them with an issue. I wish i had never purchased it!!

I have read numerous reviews good and bad. I took the chance and bought both the washer and dryer and I am not disappointed. I had an LG front loader, older model, and the smell of mildew got so bad-nothing came out clean( and I always left the door open when not in use). Since my dryer died-i decided to buy both and went with the top loader-which will never have that mildew problem. First make sure the washer is leveled at every angle. This is a must. My loads Do NOT go unbalanced. You have to load heaviest items on botttom and around the drum. Yes it is a pain, but it will save you a headache later on. I tried it by just throwing everything in and yes it did unbalance, but corrected itself right away. I had as many as 13 towels in one heavy duty wash. No unbalanced load. Our clothes come out clean-and we are in the trades in this house so lots of dirty smelly laundry. The washer pulls the water through the clothes-and I have always had plenty of water in my washer for the load. The only thing people may have an issue with is that when the water empties-it does come out with a lot of force. My hose empties into my slop sink, and it does take time to go down, because it is a lot of water at once. Thankfully, it empties
twice, 1/2 the first time-then the washer waits a minute and the rest of the water empties. This gives my slop sink enough time to drain. On my old washer the hose was permanently at an angle so it slipped right over my slop sink without a problem. This hose is not like that. The installers had to drill a small hole in the top of my slop sink to put a tie wrap through and tie wrapped the hose to my sink. I wish that was different. Another reviewer on here suggested watching the full load so you get a sense of what the washer is doing. I did that as well, and got a better understanding of the washer.

I regret buying this machine. I have to wash everything on the Bulky/Bedding setting because the machine will not fill enough water to get the clothes wet on any other setting. This machine cannot keep a load balanced, no matter what. I constantly have to manually adjust the loads. Most things have to be washed two and three times if there is a stain, there is no agitation. One of the features I looked forward to having is the time indicator on the controls, however it is the least accurate function on the machine. A load that should only take 54 minutes will take any where from 65-90 minutes. This machine is not worth the price tag. I'd like my money back.

I have had this machine for 2 years and it is shot, need a new one. Within the first year it needed a new electronic pad. Within the second year it started slightly leaking and now it needs a new clutch motor which means I need to buy a new one. Horrible machine.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Soulspice Programs do not work take forever
Purchased this washer in late 2013. Everything worked fine until a few months ago when it stopped following any of the programs. It will keep washing for hours sometimes which is so terrible for utility bills. Sometimes I will stop and reset then keep watching it to make sure it does not keep going which basically means I can only do laundry when I am staying at home to watch it . Customer support is saying it because of imbalance load- if that was the case then it should stop and show error, not continuously keep going for hours. I am giving 2 stars because it did work for one and a half years. I have always had to buy second-hand washer dryers because that is what I was able to afford and always got at least 5 years or more out of them. This is my first ever brand new washer and its quickly turned into a nightmare; I am totally regretting this purchase.
