How does this washer do with REALLY dirty clothes?

My husband works in the field & his jeans get REALLY dusty/dirty. I've heard this may not clean as thoroughly as agitator type washers & front loaders. What is your experience with washing very dirty clothes? Thanks!
Asked by: newbie
You heard right, agitator is better for very dirty clothes but this machine can wash very large loads at one time.

When leaning over the washer to reach items in the bottom of the tub, do the setting buttons inadvertantly get pressed?

Asked by: Anonymous
No. When you open the lid to the washer, the machine is not operational at that point and thus no buttons can be activated. It is, by far, the absolute best washer I have ever used!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome machine This washer is so large we have trouble finding enough clothes to fill it. my wife has to stand on short stool to reach items on bottom of tub but I can reach it okay. We seem to fight over who gets to wash clothes with it. must be a good sign. love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't do a load of Laundry without redistributing I have had this washer for about 45 days now (Rent-a-Center). Everything seems to work great along the lines of very quiet, clothes come out clean, and huge inside however the most frustrating thing is I have done over 50 loads of laundry and I think maybe 3 have completed from start to finish. All the other ones I have to constantly redistribuite the clothing (multiple times) over the course of a wash. The UE pops up all the time. I tried small loads, large loads, shirts only, pants only, doesn't matter. Thankfully it's from rent-a-center and I can get a different one but I feel sorry for those of you who purchased it outright. Sooooo frustrating.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Takes too long to wash and unbalances too often 1. I find it takes anywhere between 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours to do a load of wash. I feel this is way to long. 2. The washer become unbalanced so often that when the machine is in the rinse and spin cycle I have to babysit the machine. I do not have time to stand over the machine to assist it. 3. I often feel that some of my clothes are still dry so I'm not sure how clean it gets them. 4. I wish I could take it back to the store and get something different. My stress level would go way down. 5. Also, our water bill went up in cost because of the water being added to the unbalanced load. Therefore it is not efficient. 6. I do NOT recommend buying this washer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So disappointed I purchased this machine with high hopes after reading all the consumer reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with it has been very disappointing. First, the pros: Great styling and large capacity. But... Since purchasing the machine 2 weeks ago, it's leaked all over my laundry room floor twice. It's very loud compared to my previous front loader. The "waveforce" agitation does nothing more than slosh the water around, the clothes do not come out clean at all. There is no way to soak clothes longer than the preset time- if you try to shut off the machine to extend the soak, the water drains out. Despite being leveled, the machine vibrates horribly during the spin cycle. There isn't any way to manually adjust the water level, so clothes do not get fully covered and consequently don't get fully cleaned. And finally, I don't consider myself to be short; I am 5'5". Yet it has proven nearly impossible for me to reach all the way to the bottom of the tub to reach that last sock. I've made the choice to return the machine. I'm not sure what I will choose to replace it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can’t wait to get rid of this AWFUL machine wha Pros: space saver and cool looking Cons: I don’t know where to begin: 1. The washer becomes unbalanced on almost every load no matter the contents, size of the load, and placement of articles prior to washing. 2. The washer does not clean clothes adequately – they will at times still smell and often have the dirty stains they started with even after pre-treating. There will be dry spots on clothes after wash cycle – meaning they were never fully integrated into the wash cycle. 3. If you use the recommended amount of laundry detergent it will leave residue on the clothes, even after the extra rinse cycle; therefore, best to use less soap. 4. The repairman came out to check the operation of the machine and the balance problems and found nothing wrong. He admitted the machine doesn't use enough water to clean clothes properly, said to use the “Bulky/Bedding” setting so the clothes have more water on them. (totally goes against all the efficiency claims.) 5. Overall, DO NOT PURCHASE this machine if you would like clean clothes washed in an efficient way and don’t want to set up camp in your laundry room to monitor each load. 6. I would LOVE to exchange this clunker for another washer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Regret this purchase! I bought this washer in order to conserve water and energy. I wish I had never done so! I originally wanted a front loader but decided on this one due to being tall and not wanting to bend over so much as needed with a front loader. The balancing rarely works and it takes me hours to do our laundry! True Balance technology would be great if it worked without having to refill over and over again to try and find balance. I certainly have had the same experience as another reviewer. The largest regret of an appliance purchase for us!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Innovative Look This model improves on a space issue for our installation without the controls on the back. We love the quiet operation (however it does make different sounds than older technologies), and the clean lines of the appliance. One interesting issue is that my wife at 5'3" cannot reach the bottom of the drum to remove clothes without a stool. We also find that to completely remove soap residue from dark clothes, a second rinse is necessary.
