The ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient 2016 LG 4.5 cu. ft. High Efficiency Front Load Washer with Steam in White, Model # WM3670HWA is a vastly different washing machine to your 25 year old washer and does not operate the same way. When you load the laundry into the tub, the washer automatically adajusts the water level for the type and size of the wash load for the best results and maximum efficiency. It will rotate the laundry in a way that allows it to use less water while still fully saturating your clothing. It is normal to not be able to see water during a wash cycle. You can wash your laundry items more thoroughly by selecting the wash cycle that best suites the type of item to be washed. The Allergiene™ cycle is a powerful high temperature cycle designed specifically to reduce certain allergens in bedding and clothing and has an estimated run time of between 99-132 minutes. The Sanitary cycle is a cycle certified by NSF International to reduce 99.9% of bacteria on laundry through high temperatures when used with powdered high efficiency detergent. It has an estimated run time of 110-120 minutes. The Bright Whites™ cycle has an estimated run time of 66-76 minutes. The Bulky/Large cycle - 56 minutes, Cotton Normal cycle - 51-84 minutes, Heavy Duty cycle - 89-144 minutes, Towels cycle - 55-65 minutes. Cycle times will also depend on your water pressure. This washer also has an Auto Suds Removal feature that is activated if too much detergent is used and it detects oversudzing in the load and the tub. This feature is can be activated several times within the same cycle as it attempts to dilute the concentration of the detergent. Rated 5 out of 5 by from We bought this LG wm3670hva washer as a set in Nov. 2016. We moved from a HE top loader to this ... We bought this LG wm3670hva washer as a set in Nov. 2016. We moved from a HE top loader to this front loader because we needed a larger capacity and we did not believe our old washer was cleaning well. (I liked our top loader at first, but it tangled clothes terrible, and would have to fill the whole basket with water to wash bulky items. we also believed the top loader was rougher on clothes. It shredded the stitching on good towels) We choose this LG washer because consumer reports listed LG washers as the most reliable and this one did very good in their tests. Here is my evaluation: Because of the way it cleans and operates overall I have it 5 star rating. But it's more like a 4.6 The washer cleans excellently. With an infant we are washing clothes that have been spit up on and this machine really cleans them well. I have been impressed with how much better our clothes smell and appear. The Steam and built in water heater for hot cycles seems to make a big difference for tough loads. I also like that it has a plus water option that puts extra water in the cycle if you want it. Lots of cycle options. This washer has lots of cycle options which at first can be overwhelming, but gives you a lot of control. I printed the cycle option guide from the manual and put it next to the washer. It looks great. It makes our laundry room stand out and the stainless steel front is actually stainless steel. I did have concerns after reading other reviews, as well as a few things that I thought could be better. First it was very hard to understand what distinguished the various models from each other. The lower # models came without steam and less cycle options. The higher model 3770 almost appeared the same but they have a speed wash system that is different then the 3670. I thought the 3670 was the right fit for our needs. Cycle Speed: Many do not like the long cycle speeds. This is a common complaint if HE washers. The cycles can vary from 60 minutes up to over 2.5 hours. Depending on the options chosen. If this is real concern the higher level 3770 has extra features to shorten wash times. Vibration: I had the most trouble getting the machine leveled (it took 3 attempts,and a new level). Once it was leveled properly it did much better, but our wood floor still allows vibration to be noticeable on heavy loads. Drain pump: The machine is virtually silent other than the drain pump. Which I believe is louder that it should be. LG should find a way to quiet the pump because if they did the machine would be whisper quiet. Mold concern: I found most negative reviews of the washer came from this concern. If you look at only verified buyer reviews it cuts out most of the negative reviews. I am going to guess their are some people (who rightfully so) are ticked about their older LGs mold problem. In researching I found that LG did change their designs years back to help this. The magnetic door latch, seal changes, and clean cycles. The most common cause is using too much soap. Bottom line is that mold has to grown on organic material, aka, soap scum build up. You only need to use 2 tablespoons of soap at max. Which saves you a lot on detergent and believe me is plenty to clean your clothes, sometimes even 2 tablespoons is to much with how little water this uses. I am willing to do the regular maintenance (wiping the seal dry after use, running afresh or bleach through the machine clean cycle at-least monthly) to try to prevent this problem, because I want the cleaning power of a front loader. To me the pros out way the cons on this issue. For others it may be best to get a top loader if you have strong concerns over this. A couple of other small things: It needs a drum light. The top scratches easily. No down-loadable programs for iphone users. It's android only. (From what I understand this is technically Apples fault)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this machine! A slight vibration sound when it spins, but truly to be expected with a washer machine. It AMAZES me how little water it uses - but the way the clothes move around in there - they really do come out clean. Having never owned a front loader before, I wasn't aware of the maintenance of drying the door and the inner rubber seal regularly - but it's a 5 second wipe down when done using it for the day. Also has a few filters (water intake, and something at the bottom I haven't investigated thoroughly yet) along with a drain that need to be kept up monthly - but again...it takes minimal time to maintain optimal performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! I purchased this washer to replace my old LG, which lasted almost 14 years. I LOVE my new washer! Have not yet used steam function, but will soon. Minimal time to wipe the rubber gasket and dry the glass on the door. Bigger capacity than my former washer. I have five sons and a husband and all come home fairly dirty from work or outdoor activities; cleans the clothes nicely. Waiting patiently to get the matching dryer.

The machine works great and is a huge improvement over the older LG model that it replaced. I purchased new hoses with the washer--which the tech was unable to install because of the configuration of where our units sit--we need longer hoses. If he had installed with the hoses I ordered, he would have been trapped in the nook where our units live. No big deal, but I hadn't measured the hoses. As such, he was unable to install the washer due to liability issues of using the older hoses--again, not his fault. We had assumed the tech would be able to install and run a test to be sure it was working--we knew we would need to install the dryer since they're stackable--and again, liability-wise, techs aren't allowed. Understandable. The problem arose after we installed the machines--there's definitely an issue with both the power and start buttons. They push almost an inch and a half into the machine before they engage, then they stick behind the casing. I can get the machine to turn on and start--but every time I run it, I'm a little worried the buttons will get stuck and be a problem. If I had seen this while the tech was there, I would have requested it to be fixed/replaced prior to him leaving. However, since we had to install it , and after stacking the units and carefully working it into the nook--it would be quite the undertaking to get it out again to get the buttons fixed/changed/whatever. So, not thrilled with weird button issues, but the machine runs well, washes well, is quiet and does not shake the house the way the old one did.

When one pushes the start button, the machine lights up like a space ship. Having said that, it is quiet, efficient and I can finally wash my king-size mattress cover. The cycles are different than my old machine so it's a learning curve. It's been less than a month since they were installed so still getting used to the washer in particular. One thing to be careful of is cleaning the trap every two weeks. I couldn't get the tip of the hose off so I undid the round thingie next to it. Water everywhere! I hadn't understood that is where some kind of excess water/lint is kept. I'll figure the hose out. Outside of the learning curve, I am very satisfied with my purchase and recommend LG. We also own their french door refrigerator and a 42" TV (both for three to four years) so fast becoming an LG family member.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 18 mos use still doing well Rave reviews sometimes don't mean much to me until the item has been used for awhile. We bought the LG 3370 series set. It doesn't get heavy use - 2-5 loads/week. The only issue we had was with water hammering as the hot water turned on & off, but that's been largely alleviated by purchasing water hammer arrestor. Who knew. Was shocked at how little water it seems to use and dubious that it would clean clothes well, but it does. Sometimes we use the extra water feature but not sure that it makes a difference. No problems with balance, rust, leakage, noise, or other issues. We did purchase the highly overpriced pedestals. Great for lifting the washer & dryer up to an easier height, but know that the pedestals are not tall enough to hold most bottles of laundry detergent. The washer has more bells & whistles than we ever use, but no complaints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined my floor 2 years ago we built a new house and bought all new LG Appliances because I had heard they made a great product. Unfortunately I have not found that to be the case and even more disappointing than that is their poor customer service! within months of owning this washer I noticed a puddle in front of it after running a load. Upon further inspection, I found the leak was actually coming from the back of the washer. After pulling out the washer I found (to my horror) that this had not been the first time! My flooring was warped, molding had mold on it and the paint was peeling. I immediately contacted LG and they sent someone out to look at it. Unfortunately it did not leak when the service man was here so they claimed that the problem was solved and said there was nothing they could do if it didn't leak while they were here. Over the next several months it continued to leak sporadically but not consistent enough that I was confident it would leak while they were here so they could fix it! Eventually I was just so fed up that I demanded someone come take another look at it! So they sent someone out and it leaked while he was here. I thought, Thank Goodness...we'll finally get this fixed! WRONG!! I was told that now my warranty was up! When I brought up the fact that this had been an ongoing issue their response was that this was possibly a DIFFERENT issue than the one a had complained of months earlier so they wouldn't warranty it. Im frustrated that I spent $1000 on a washer that is nothing but a headache and more than that I am furious with the damage that this has done to our new home!! This washer has cost us so much more than the original $1000 and LGs refusal to honor their warranty is infuriating.

I had a previous front loading LG that did not do that (replaced due to loud noise on spin).
