I consider myself to have an excellent mechanical background and a high attention to detail. If you want to just throw your clothes in this washer and hit start, this is not the washer for you. It will fail almost every time if you dump your clothes in without strategically placing each garment in the drum.
Jeans and bath towels are the items that hold the most water and therefore have the most influence on balance.. I have to load each item in a circle around the drum and select the right ones that have equal weight so that when it goes into spin cycle it wont fault out !! What happens when it faults out ? It floods the drum with water and tries to balance the load by itself.. This almost never remedies itself. If you have a well that has limited water available, this might very well run you out of water trying to balance the load. The reason why you buy a washer like this is to save water and that is completely the opposite of what will happen if you dump your clothes in and hit start !!
Yes, I'm a man and I have accepted the duty of loading the wash and running the load.. My wife is the dryer operator. I think less stress will result from this arrangement.
One thing I would like to add.. I installed and leveled this washer.. It is not out of level.. I do not consider it to be defective. This is the way the product is designed. The older washers just spun out and walked across the room and of course they didn't spin at the RPM that this one does.. The LG will not walk across the room on you, it will simply try to correct itself but don't count on it !
So, my advice to the buyer that wants to throw your clothes in and walk away , don't buy this washer or any other high efficiency top loader.. Go with a front loader, they are less sensitive to loads that are off balance and have a better theory of design overall.

We have only used it for about a month now but so far we love it! It gets the clothes very clean and they seem softer than they did with our old washer. It's a bit louder than I thought it would be but that doesn't even bother me if it cleans clothes. I would definitely recommend this washer. Also the delivery was on time, friendly and very easy.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cliff Worst purchase ever made
Have owned this machine for 18 months. It has not worked right since day one. Have gone round and round with LG customer service and tech support. Their own contracted service repair man has told them that this machine does not work properly. Every cycle gets to the rinse and keeps repeating the rinse, over and over and over again. One day we just let it run and run for 7 hours before we shut it down. LG says that the telephone diagnostics show that everything is working great. Sorry 'bout that. We are at a point that we are going to put this machine on the curb for anyone to pick up that wants the aggravation.
This product is poor and the LG customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Miller Service from LG is horrible!
Less than a year old and can not get LG to take care of the problem. Can't wash load without machine stopping at rinse cycle. Have to unplug every time and start over. The service company they are contracted with are horrible. Never show up when scheduled, never came back with the parts. Now 3 months have passed and LG says we are out of warranty and we need to go thru extended warranty with Home Depot. Why should Home Depot take the hit for the repairs? LG service is horrible.

Flexibility in functions. OI had a few problems at first, but it was simply my error. After I got accustomed to the washer, I love it. I bought asd replacement for an older washer I had given a relative who was just starting out. She wanted to trade, but that isn't going to happen.

This washer is great! Large enough to wash my king sized comforters with ease. The cold water wash setting works great! Clothes get soo clean & fresh with very little detergent, and are practically dry after the very quiet spin cycle completes. Totally worth the money.

I researched a lot of washers and this one had the features that I wanted. Not all machines have a 30 minute "soak" cycle but this one does. It is also very easy to program and use and you can make your own program and save 1 as well. I have been using it for just about a month and so far have really enjoyed it. The spin cycle even on "low" is impressive. I was worried that my wash would be very wrinkled but so far it is fine. I still have to wash nylon and lace curtains which will be the ultimate test on that one but have decided that I would probably use "no spin" and hang them on the line and see how that works first. The big tub is great, I wash the tablecloths from church functions and can do 7 or 8 at a time, no problem. Wash looks and smells clean using less detergent.
