Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PeterPan70 Best washer I ever owned!!
I purchased my washer about three months ago. I purposely waited to write my review until I had some experience with the washer. I love all the features on the machine. I use several of them, depending on what I am washing. This washer has a HUGE TUB. It will wash in one load what it takes a regular washer three loads to accomplish. I wash queen sheets and my blankets all in one load. It could even take more.
What is a positive of large tub is also a negative for a short person as myself. I can't reach the bottom of the tub to get socks and other small items. I have to use a step stool to unload the washer. I also was disappointed that I could only use one of the "extra functions" at a time. I like to use fabric softener and an extra rinse simultaneously. The washer won't let me do that. I still love this washer and would highly recommend it.

I had just purchased a GE top loader only about three years ago, and it died. Not only that, but it was small. I could force a king size comforter in it, but it could hardly handle it and it barely cleaned the soap out. This 5.0 LG is huge. Not only will it take a king size comforter, but there is room left over. It analyzes the load before it adds water to determine how heavy it is, or to balance it. (It spins a bit before water). Many different options. Glass door allows you to see what's happening. Plus this is by far the quietest washer I've ever had. It's off our TV room and we no longer need to crank the volume when it's both TV night and laundry night. And I'm sold on LG. Bought a fridge, stove, dishwasher, and now clothes washer. Great products.

I bought this top loader about a month ago to replace my HE Front Load GE Washer and I can tell you the difference is like night and day. The clothes are actually getting washed in this and they come out looking like new (ok that was a stretch but you get the point). There are several neat features about this machine. The one I like the most is that it calculates how much water the machine needs based on the load sensing feature. You can also manually select to add extra water by clicking the 'WATER PLUS' cycle. Also there is a soak cycle (this one sold me), which lets your clothes soak in soapy water for 30 mins (which helps loosen the stains) before starting with the wash cycle. I can wash king size bedding with ease with extra room to spare. The capacity of the machine is amazing; it balances the load extremely well during spin cycle, the clothes come out almost dry and is much quieter. My older machine would vibrate all around the room and I feared it would damage my floor and walls. I have no such issues with this. I did some research before buying this machine and I couldn't find many reviews, even consumer report has not yet tested this machine. I guess I took a calculated risk knowing the fact that CR ranks other smaller size top loading washer in top 4 spots. Also the brand reliability index is #1. The user reviews were mixed as always, some people do get unlucky with lemons. I for once have to knock on wood and call this a good buy considering it has only been a month. I did however buy 3 year extended warranty from Home Depot for a piece of mind. I found Home Depot prices to be very competitive (it was also memorial day sales event) and the extended warranty prices are the cheapest in the market. Also since I didn't care much about color of the washer, I saved another $100 bill by buying it in white. Its not like my washer is going to be a centerpiece in the living room!!!!!

When this new washing machine arrived, it was fun just watching how it works. Very impressive machine. Like other reviews said before I bought it, it has plenty of space for large king size comforters, and washes everything super easy. Excellent investment.

I haven't had a new washer in over 35 years. I was use to a knob you turn for 3 different cycles and 3 different water levels and then pulled to start. The number of buttons is overwhelming at first but I am getting them now. The tub is so deep that I have to use a step stool to get the laundry from the bottom of the tub. I am very happy with my new washer but a bit overwhelmed with so many cycle options.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lora HUGE WASHER-LAUNDRY ALL CAUGHT UP!!
LOVE IT!! I have yet to do a "full load" of laundry because this holds sooooo much! Its super quiet and does an excellent job, wish I wouldn't have waited so long to replace my old washer, what a time saver to do so much laundry at one time! The one and only thing I miss is not being able to have the water running to spot treat something before throwing in the washer, water wont run while the lid is open. But small price to pay for such a great machine. I have been caught up with the laundry for my family for the first time-EVER!! Best appliance I have ever purchased for sure!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by gary OK, i am convinced !
I gotta say, i thought if it didn't have a big tall agitator in it, it wasn't gonna clean the clothes. I was skeptical. I researched a lot and decided they haven't gotten the front load washers right yet, plus i dont want to bend over to haul out wet laundry, so that left me with the top load HE washer. most of the review sites say they aren't as energy or water efficient and dont clean as well as the front loaders. i beg to differ on this model, as it is energy star rated and estimated yearly operating cost on the energyguide label is $11 for natural gas water heater and $17 for electric water heater. Now the important thing, does it clean laundry? And does it do it with the recommended small amount of detergent? Yes and Yes. Remeber that with HE ( high efficiency ) detergent you will see little to no suds like the old days because a few years ago they removed the ingredients that made suds, and this causes some people to add more detergent, which then may not all get rinsed out ( especially a common complaint in many reviews i read for the front loading machines). the fact that this machine holds twice the amount of clothes and gets them clean with a small amount of detergent and spins out so much more water than my old machine is incredible. i bought the matching dryer and it dried the whole load of mixed items in less time than my old dryer did a much smaller load. comforters have never been cleaned better. a couple of other pluses are the water plus option and tap water cold wash (no hot water or internal heating used). tide recently developed a detergent for cold water that actually gets clothes clean using cold water and does it as well as regular detergents using warm or hot water. i am sure other detergent makers will follow. so by using cold water and saving on water heating costs, your laundry detergent and other laundry supplies are in essence free! Geez, i sound like a LG rep. , i'm not, i am just happy to get something that does what it says it will. lets hope it stands the test of time
