  • Looking for a washer that fits more laundry in fewer loads and still fits your space? LG's got you covered. With 4.9 cu. ft. capacity, LG's mega-capacity top-load washer is right at home in the space of a regular washer -- so you can fit more, wash less and get back to more important things
  • NeveRust stainless steel drum with stainless steel impeller for durability; LG's Direct Drive motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently; LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year warranty
  • LG's revolutionary TurboWash technology allows you to save up to 20 minutes on larger loads, with outstanding cleaning performance! It's like pressing the fast-forward button on your laundry
  • WaveForce technology utilizes rapid drum movement and powerful water jets to provide thorough washing action that's gentle on clothes

Does this machine get exercise dri fit fabrics clean?

We've tried a HE front loader machine before and it could not get exercise clothes clean because of the low amount of water. We went back to a regular old agitator top loader and it works great for dri fit clothes. Would this machine with water sensing like the front loader work well for this type of fabric? Does it get tangled?

Once the Start/Pause button on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.9 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Front Control Top Load Washer in White, Model # WT1701CW is pressed, the washer will measure the size of the load then change the estimated time and automatically adjust the wash time for the amount of laundry, water pressure, water and other operating conditions. Unlike the Front Loaders that tumble your clothes in such a way that saturates your clothes fully, if you need to add more water to your wash load, you can press the 'Water Plus' option, however, if the machine has reached its' maximum water level, the Water Plus button will have no effect. Unlike older Top Load washing machines, this washer does not have an agitator in it, it has an impeller. Washers with agitators aggressively rotate within the tub which can be hard on fabrics, especially delicate fabrics. An Impeller on the other hand is a low-profile plate located in the bottom of the washer that replaces the agitator. It creates turbulent currents in the water within the drum as it rotates. This results in a gentler wash action with less water. The impeller theoretically does not come in contact with the clothes so they will not tangle...^IFV Read Less

It's quiet, doesn't vibrate the house when spinning and cleans clothes well. Easy to use front panel. We have been using for three weeks. This is a replacement for a samsung washer that was only fifteen months old. We had the asurion extended warranty but after four visits from repairmen including samsung factory service they could not fix it. Parts kept being replaced with the same problem so after thirty days of this nonsense, I decided enough is enough and bought this one. Asurion refused to give me a new machine or refund the money. I will never buy any samsung product again.

I actually look forward to doing laundry every week. It is sleek, attractive and I love the see through top. The push button display is very easy to use. No more unbalanced loads. Too many features to mention all. A few of my favorites are sani-wash and extra water. It's easy to pause the machine to add extra items. Also I love that there is a timer that tells you when your load will finish. If there is a dislike (and this does not apply to me because I am tall) the drum is very deep and if you have short arms it might be difficult to reach items at the bottom). Best wash machine I have owned!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Washing machine broke after 2 years of light use. The control board malfunctioned and cost almost $400.00 to repair, which is more than half of what the washer cost in the first place. LG customer service was terrible. Don't waste your time or money on this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this washer When my washer died I had to do a lot of research for the best machine for what I could afford. I searched different sites for different reviews as I find some reviews are basically paid for. This was rated pretty high from consumer Reports. I purchased this because it was the best machine I could afford and I am so happy with it. Like other reviewers pointed out, it is slower than a normal top load machine but this is a non issue for me. And it is deep so you need to be at least 5'6" to reach in. My daughter who is 5' tall needs a chair to remove the clothing. All in all a great purchase, I am saving for the dryer now because my regular dryer cannot keep up with the large loads.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make sure you get the extended warranty! I purchased my washing machine in June 2015, and one year and three months later, I am waiting on an estimate from an appliance repair person. I called the 800 number in the manual. The first person I spoke to tried to diagnose the washing machine over the phone, but she could not find anything wrong. The next LG customer service person I spoke to said that I could pay $400 for an extended one-year warranty, or I could pay $302 for a one-time service visit. He then told me that after I gave him my credit card number we could set a repair appointment! No thank you. I went to Home Depot to seek help; the manager was in a meeting. I have called a local appliance repair, and their diagnosis is that the clutch needs repair. I have done some online research, and this part is not cheap. AVOID THIS MACHINE!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very modern washing machine It is taking me a while to learn how to use it -- all those options and buttons to push Wonderful about water consumption -- very impressive Clothes get really clean. The tub is so large it is hard for me to reach to the bottom for the small things. But I am 5'1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Washer at a Super Price! I LOVE this washer. I have had front loaders for years - so wasn't sure how I would like a top loader, but I love it. Super quiet - even when spinning - as compared to my previous front loader that sounded like a jet airplane taking off when in the spin cycle. Does not use a ton of water like old top loaders - gets the clothes really clean. Controls might look complicated - but they are actually very intuitive and easy to use. Would highly recommend this washer - which has very high ratings from Consumer Reports btw - it gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Every time I use it I go through a brain game trying to figure how or which cycle to use. It doesn't supply enough water, some loads come out partly dry. My clothes don't come clean. My towels are stiff from not good enough rinsing. There is no , or very little, movement inside the washer. How can things come clean just sitting in a low volume of water? I have tried to use the water plus feature and it only works part of the time and doesn't indicate when it is engaged. This washer is a piece of garbage. The cycles are so long and to stand there and babysit it to make sure it does the job is rediculous. I will never buy an LG product again, calling customer service does no good. I am the owner of 4 LG appliances, all bought at the same time, none have been as advertised. Never again.
