Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mema great washer
I've had this washer almost two months and so far I find it easy to use and love all the features. I love the fact that I was able to wash our Cal King mattress pad, which I used to have to take to the cleaners. The mattress pad fit easily into the washer and the results were fantastic. I have no complaints so far. The only negative I've experienced is how deep the washer tub is (which is also why it can fit very large things to be washed). I'm short, 5'2", and have difficulty reaching the bottom of the tub.

Amazing washer, have had it for exactly a month, the features on this washer are amazing. My wife absolutely LOVES it. Have read one or two bad reviews on it, my opinion is to read the owners manual entirely to get to know the features and outcome of all features and different selections that can be made with certain cycles and features. Its so gentle on clothes its incredible, I am glad we went with this washer being our first he washer, capacity is awesome and so are the features, having a family of seven capacity is great. Also having a daughter with asthma and allergies, its awesome that its certified by the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America. Have read the owners manual entirely and understand the different things the washer does, some reviews out their say some things and the owners don't even know that's the way the product is suppose to perform, talking about he washers in general not a certain brands. But its a fantastic washer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SusieQueue Best decision ever!
My old Maytag workhorse finally broke down. Went to HD to find a replacement. After recovering from the sticker shock of pricing on the new HG sets, I finally went with a top load for a few reasons:
1. wasn't paying $500 for a set of stands for the front loads
2. my friends who have front loads complain about mildew smells
3. wanted the ability to open wash cycle to add things I missed
My experience with GE (my kitchen suite) left me unwilling to purchase another one of their products. I have several LG products in the home and went with this washer (and matching dryer) based on my experience and the numerous positive reviews.
Took me very little time to adjust to this way of washing clothes and I have to admit it has been just wonderful. Less water, less detergent - and the clothes come out so clean!!!
Love the different cycles available and the quietness of the washer when operating.
I read through the negative reviews on this washer and all I can say is - read the manual. I have not had any issues regarding water, cleaning, etc.
This is a dream machine. lol Run, don't walk. You will not be disappointed!

We purchased this HE washer thinking it was the top of the line in 2011. In 2012 we started noticing rust forming along the body rim, lid hinges, bleach well, and metal around the lid. Now it has gotten worse and the company will do nothing about it. I think at the factory all the metal parts were not not covered properly with the enamel spray. PIECES OF RUST ARE SHOWING UP IN THE CLOTHES. It washes well if you can ignore the rust. We would like LG to do something since we bought a 4 year protection plan. What good is that I fear we have wasted our money- should have bought another Maytag. A very unhappy consumer in Ohio.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ps123 Love the LG 5.2 cu Washer!
The washer performs beautifully. I'm so pleased with the tub capacity as I like to launder my bedding (blankets, quilts, comforters, even spreads) at home. The first load after installation was a queen-sized bed spread and shams. End result was like brand new!!!! I selected the Bulky/Bedding Cycle. Only one comment concerning the drain hose: new design application for installation to a laundry tub is in order. The vinyl tie seems to be a rather ill-designed solution for such a well-designed piece of equipment. Back to the drawing board on that one!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bcmer Works great since Feb 2014
Truly amazing washer, consolidates what would be previously 8-9 loads to literally half and sometimes, less than half of the reg. load, Highly recommended and tested. There have also been times where there were emergency wash scenarios occurring in the early morning hours due to the baby having mother nature episodes and we'd wash via light cycle and no hiccups with balancing. Whether heavy loads or in between with the middle loads, there're no issues with balancing. Works great, we also enjoy the steam, sanitize and allergenic cycles. There is the melodic audible cycle tone as well. This is a great investment and you will be glad that you bought this! Good luck and GOD Bless!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LGirl Clothes Not Clean
I have had this washer for several months now. The capacity is amazing. However, the clothes continually come out dirty still...dirt that should EASILY come off when washed, not talking about tough stains. With 3 kids whose clothes are often dirty, this is disappointing. Have used several types of detergents and am still having issues with clean clothes. I have also had to wash things more than once in a row hoping the dirt would be lifted...it's as if they weren't washed at all in some cases. More and more I am being convinced it's the lack of agitator as to why this is happening. For over nearly $1100, I expect an amazing washer. Unfortunately this isn't.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Very pleased with this washer
This is the first high efficiency washer I've owned (the last time I purchased a washer was in 1993... it was a Maytag). Needless to say I was a bit apprehensive when I read others horror stories about HE washers in general: torn clothing, odors, mold, etc.
I am very pleased with this washer. The feature set is nice: including a "sanitize" setting for very hot washing if needed. The tub is huge, and there is no central spindle for clothes to get caught on. We washed our queen-sized comforters without any difficulty.
The controls are easy to use, and provide many choices for ways to wash your clothes.
We have had no problems the machine going out of balance. One load stopped because a bunch of towels found their way to one side of the tub, but as soon as I loosened them and spread them out, the wash finished. That seems very much like my experience with non-HE washers over the years, so no complaints.
It doesn't use water like a non-HE washer. The sales person explained it like this: old style washers gave clothes a bath, the HE washers give clothes a shower. Uses less water and still gets clothes clean. I found this a useful analogy and agree that clothes come out clean. One perk of the HE washer is that clothes are a lot drier coming out of the machine that my old style washer. The spin cycle must get more water out, which means my dryer runs less.
