I bought two of these at the same time. One didn't last two months as the bearing in the fan went bad. The other lasted 7 months (though 4 months of that was during the fall/winter and wasn't used until I tried to turn it on today and it will not power on). Had better hopes for LG but won't buy again.

Our home has central air conditioning, but we also use a window air conditioner in our bedroom. When the one we had had for several years went out, I started looking for a new one on the internet. We have a very narrow window in our bedroom, so it's hard to find a unit small enough to fit it. I looked at several web sites to no avail. Then I looked on Home Depot. They had this LG model that not only was the right size, but it was so easy to install! The price was right, too. That's important since my husband and I are on fixed incomes. We've had it for several weeks now, and it works perfectly! Another advantage with the Home Depot website was that it showed that the unit I wanted was in stock at our location and after charging the purchase with my credit card, I could request that it be waiting for me at the checkout counter. When I got to the store, I signed the receipt and they loaded it in my car. No waiting. No walking around in the store trying to find the unit. You can't do much better than that!

This very small AC unit was perfect for my bedroom because it has very small windows. So, I took what I could get -- and this product was the only one I found small enough. However, it came damaged. The plastic grill on the front is broken. It is clear that this happened in the factory because the screws on the side are not in properly.
I did not return this product because it was such a hassle to get it home and into my house (3rd floor walk-up!), I didn't want to deal with it. It does work and keeps my large bedroom nice and cold. As other reviewers noted, it does rattle and make a lot of noise. This can be remedied by adjusting it and securing it further into the window.
Overall this is a good product but I would suggest that you take it out of the box in the store and check that it is ok before you take it home.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by aajwoiefjmek Does not cool
The assembly took a few minutes but wasn't that difficult. I bought this because it's lighter in case I needed to move it from room to room, and I would've been happy if it had cooled even a small area around the window. I thought at worst this little guy would just be too wimpy to cool the whole room. The trouble is, at 'max cool' setting, this A/C blew air that was at best maybe 5 degrees cooler than outside, so it actually doesn't cool anything at all. I compared it to our evaporative cooler and the air coming from the evaporative cooler was colder. Between the fan setting and the cool setting, you can hear the compressor turn 'on' but there is no noticeable difference of temperature between the two settings. Taking this one back.

This unit broke after only 14 months from purchase. Considering it was probably only used for 5 out of those 14 months, I would say this was a colossal waste of money. It costs $100 just to have a technician even look at it, obviously not worthwhile. Not sure if other brands are more reliable but this was really disappointing.

This a/c unit is decent- blows ice cubes, doesn't jack up the electric bill much, but it is loud (vibration type noise). I had to apply several strategically placed pieces of white duct tape over the years to keep it tolerable. Here we are about 1/2 way through my 5th season with it and it developed a Freon leak due to rusty plumbing on the outside portion. I'm not an a/c tech, so paying someone to fix this unit is not worth it. I'll be replacing it with a different brand.

After just 22 months of service this unit stopped cooling, it developed some ice at the bottom of the unit and air will come room temperature but won't cool. The shed was only 80s/f and for the time it worked it was enough btu to get the job done.
I tried and cleaned the inside but did nothing. It's definitely a leak of freon that causes the ice buildup and no more cooling. Very disappointed .
