Rated 5 out of 5Â by LGuser Happy with my purchase
We needed a new washer/dryer since we moved. We previously had a pair of LG red front loaders from 2009. They were great and I liked the features. So I wanted to stick with LG but get something in grey. I was a little surprised to find that the front loaders aren't as popular anymore (water inside rubber part). Once I saw this top loadin washer and it's duo, I was sold. The inside is like 30% larger than the previous. I can put large amount of clothes in or a loa of super bulky items with no problem. The dials are the same as my last one and I am very happy overall. The only thing I would watch out for is height issues. I'm 5'3" and I can just barely touch the bottom of the washer on my tiptoes. If you are shorter, then you may not reach at all. If I was pregnant, I wouldn't be able to use it at all....
I like that the too loading door slowly closes on its own -- no slam feature.
Overall, great product. I wanted a washer/dryer in grey that I was familiar with. Price was good and home delivery/installation went smoothly. I would recommended this to a friend who isn't shorter than me. :)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by wholelottaboys Best Wasshing Machine EVER!!
I had previously owned an HE3T front loading machine, which I thought was great for the first year, then it started having mechanical issues, then to top it all off, it took on a loud, nasty, moldy smell that I just couldn't get rid of (Yes, I had tried everything), so I decided to give a top loader a try. After A LOT of research, I settled on this machine and I am thrilled! I have 4 boys, the machine cleans amazingly well, my clothes smell fresh, it can hold 2.5 loads at once, and has greatly cut back on the amount of time I spend in the laundry room. I LOVE this machine!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by xwaydrivah Absolutely the best washer I have ever owned!
I did extensive research before deciding to purchase this washer and the matching dryer. I was torn between getting my first front-loader washing machine or sticking with a more standard top-loader. Due to the fact that a top-loader would allow me more room to clean around it, as well as the fact that I want to be able to open my washer door mid cycle, I decided to purchase the LG 4.7 cu. ft. top-loader in graphite steel. It not only looks fantastic, it does a great job washing clothes as well as bedding. It's capacity is outstanding. It is so quiet, I can't hear it from outside the washroom unless it is on a cycle where water is entering the tub. I must also give a shout-out to Home Depot re: the price of both machines. For over 30 years, I have been purchasing all my appliances from another major retailer that has its own brand. My price quote from that other retailer for both machines was close to $1000 more than Home Depot's final price. Also, I ordered both machines online at homedepot.com during a tax-free weekend in Massachusetts. I had called Home Depot's Customer Service the day before our tax-free weekend to ask them how it all works when you purchase products online starting on Saturday. The customer service rep was very succinct in how the process would work and that NO taxes would be added to the purchase. Another rep for a retailer whose initials are "BB" had informed me that, "You can't get tax-free online. You must shop in the stores." When I complained via email, I got a response on Sunday, stating that I could buy tax-free online that weekend. By then my machines were already purchased at a very good price! The whole process with Home Depot from beginning to end was very positive right down to the delivery and installation.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by cleananddry Good but expensive washer
Purchased this washer along with the matching dryer approximately 3 weeks ago from Home Depot. Did a lot of research before settling on this model. My wife lives to do laundry and we'd had our previous set for about 15 years and it was starting to have problems again. After reading a mind-numbing number of reviews which either said best thing since sliced bread or worst product ever made, we decided to to take the plunge. My big concern was we'd get it, my wife wouldn't like how it cleaned and I'd be stuck hearing about it for the next 10 years. We had some minimal requirements: 2nd floor laundry so good on vibration, wife hates laundry that has musty/dirty odor so it had to clean well and couldn't be smelly, had to have large volume, and she wanted a top loader. I was also looking for an on-board heater. After 3 weeks. she is very happy with the purchase. Gets clothes clean, very quiet, no smells, no big knotted balls of clothing, no unbalanced load warnings. We've run large, medium, and small loads and one load that had a bathroom floor mat with a rubber backing. Doubt we will ever use all of the features but I guess it they may be nice to have.
We'll have to see how it holds up over time. I suspect the 15 year life cycles of the washer/dryers is a thing of the past, but at this point I'd give it a thumbs up.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by PickyMom DO NOT BUY - Whole top came off during spin cycle
When the washer was on spin cycle it went NUTS! It is supposed to automatically turn off for an uneven load, but it did not. There was a single sheet in there. I walked into the laundry room and the washer top (control panel and all) was coming off the unit! The whole top broke off, it broke the tray the washer sits in and the drum dented the sides. Repair man said he never seen anything like it!
