Customer Questions & Answers

I noticed that the person asked if a griddle came with the stove. I only see a burner that could accomodate a griddle. Does it come with a griddle?

Does the blue paint in the oven crack?

I read a review that the blue paint in the oven will crack. Is this a known problem?
Asked by: grannygardener
The bottom of my oven is etched. Didn't crack per se, but hasn't held up well.

Do you need a kit to convert to propane and if so where do you get it and what is the part number? Thanks

Are the grates too high from the flame?

I saw complaints in Amazon that the grates in LRG3095ST model is higher from the burner and hence it takes longer to cook as the flames don't reach the bottom of the pots. When I was in the store I noticed that the grates are at least 1/4 inches higher from the burners compared other brands. I plan to purchase this model. Is this going to be a problem that we end up using a lot more gas for cooking?
Asked by: grannygardener
Yes, I believe the burners sit high off the flame and there seems to be alot of heat lost around the pot even if it is matched up to the size of the burner.

Electronic features aren't intuitive, so take some looking up to figure out. Middle "griddle" burner is WAY underpowered. No matter how long you preheat, you'll never get it hot enough to make pancakes. So that middle space is really just kind of wasted. It's March 2017 and I'm ordering the oven igniter part for the second time. Yes, the oven has stopped igniting twice in 5 1/2 years. Yeah. Not so much. Wouldn't buy it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok stove Had this for 6 years, best feature for me was the convection oven and oven shut off timer. Center burner for griddle is useless, they say 8000 btu but dont think so. Have to preheat way beyond the recommended 4-5 minutes and thats way too long. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Just Beautiful..... After a rocky start, had to call a plumber out to change gas line so it could be pushed all the way back to the wall I am very happy with my choice. YES, the griddle takes some time to heat up but once it is heated it cooks just fine. The superboil burner does not boil any faster than my old stove but I found if I use a wider pot & cover it works well....Yes, every little speck of anything shows up on the black, but it is a breeze to clean. The convection is fantastic & the proof cycle is just great, Love the little tune it plays also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Oven Recently purchased this range and are thus far very satisfied. Having the control knobs, which are solidly constructed, at an angle feels very ergonomic. The range itself feels very solid. The five gas burners work very nicely, and the included griddle is useful. The griddle is also removable if you want to use that space to cook from. I also like that you have the choice to use the oven conventionally or with convection. We ordered our range through home and after it arrived we noticed that one of the keypad buttons wasn't working. We called home depot and they worked with LG to send out a replacement range, no problem. Overall, the buttons on the range work just fine. I would definitely recommend this range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buy the extended service warranty! Buy the extended warranty! I love the looks of this range, but I’m sorry I purchased the black top. I’ve had this gas range for 5-months and the top is not only hard to keep clean, but the grates have scratched the surface. The only way to clean it is first with soap and water, then with a diluted vinegar rinse. The knobs have wrinkled on the bottom, and the broiler doesn’t. Had service on the broiler, and all he did was raise the flame. It still doesn’t broil. I get better results by cranking it up to 500 degrees! When I complained about the knobs, the service man just shrugged his shoulders. I guess I’ll have to buy new ones. Oh, and it took 2-weeks to get service, they kept saying they “didn’t receive an order request.”

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buy the extended warranty We've had this appliance for one year this month and were very pleased with it like all the LG appliances we bought when we had our kitchen redone a year ago. Then things went very bad very quickly. A week ago we used the self clean cycle and the next time we used the stove I noticed that several of the burner knobs had the finish distorted on the bottom portion, apparently from the heat of the cleaning cycle exiting the door vent directly below the knobs. Our neighbors have the exact same range and we mentioned this to them when we had them to dinner and they said theirs had done the same thing. They also mentioned that the ceramic coating inside their oven had cracked. I checked ours and sure enough there were cracks in the bottom of the oven liner. I had noticed also that after using the stove for several months that the burner controls we're getting loose and wobbly and felt like something you'd find on a low end appliance. So it seems like this range has all the surface appearance and features that you pay for but with very little use shows some very disturbing signs of poor build quality. The serviceman is coming tomorrow so I'll update you after this visit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good Never bought LG before and hoping it lasts us a long time. We went from a dropin electric to gas range. Make sure you have enough width to slide this freestander in. We had to get some work done on the floor and cabinets for easy installation. HD installers will NOT install if the gas line does not have a valve attached. We also had to get a plumber in for this and because its just safer. As for the gas range, I dont care for the shocking blue paint inside. BTU's on the front burners are powerful, one major reason for my purchase. The top part of stove where the grates rest get dirty real easily. Do NOT order this in store - HD wanted to charge me $100-$150 for installation and were not even sure. If you order online, installation is only $20.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier I bought this range about a month ago to replace a glass-top range that seemed bent on burning my house down while I wasn't looking. So, right out of the box, I loved the LG because it didn't turn itself on. But even beyond that, I think it's great. I was initially a little hesitant to have a gas oven. A gas cooktop, sure, but I had had my heart set on a hybrid gas cooktop/electric convection oven for some time. But since LG doesn't make any of those currently, I had no choice but to give it a shot, hoping gas ovens had improved in the last twenty years - hot spots were a common problem then, and it wasn't uncommon for a batch of cookies to come out of the oven and some be burnt and others still raw. I'm happy to report things have gotten much, much better over the years. No hot/cold spots in this oven; a batch of biscuits baked on traditional (non-convection) mode all came out evenly and perfectly browned, cooked all the way through. Convection mode works great as well, shaving off a little baking time and running at a lower temperature means it's using less energy, and I'm all for that. But I'm not giving this range five stars just for doing what it's supposed to do. No, it gets five stars for everything it DOES do, and for how well it does them. The first thing I noticed about it is how nice it looks. It is a handsome devil, and if it were a man, I would be intimidated by its chiseled, reflective features. It coordinated with the rest of my appliances (all LG) really well without matching them like a bedroom set. My wife keeps freaking out about the bright blue interior. She doesn't cook, so she won't be seeing the inside of the oven too often, but I'm happy she's happy. Big control panel in the back, bright screen, and big honkin' knobs up front for the cooktop really do make for an impressive-looking appliance. It's been remarkably easy to keep it looking good, too. The griddle and cooking grates are all dishwasher-safe if things get really out of hand, but they've all wiped clean for me so far. No problems keeping the black enamel inside the cooktop clean either, and unlike the old glasstop, I can wipe it down almost as soon as I turn the heat off. The caps on the eyes come off so they can be cleaned separately, and that's the whole cooktop. The rest of it's just keeping the stainless polished, which is easy enough. Actually cooking on the cooktop has been a revelation. I know this is more because it's gas, but everything heats up so fast now, compared to what I was on before. And when I turn the heat off, it's off, no more having to move the pan around to get it off the residual heat. The eye in the front right, which is some sort of superpowered flame eye, does seem to boil water a little faster, but at the expense of some degree of adjustability. Rather than having a 10 that goes smoothly down to a 1, it's more like it starts at 11, then drops immediately to a 5, then incrementally down to a 1. I don't know that the minute or two it saves heating a pot of water was worth trading in 10 through 6. Similarly, the eye behind it is a low-powered simmer eye, which works great, but I don't know if it accomplishes anything that turning a regular eye down to 1 wouldn't have done. You lose some top-end heat there. I haven't missed it yet, but I haven't tried cooking a Thanksgiving dinner on it yet either. Time will tell. I do like the griddle, though. Some (many?) have complained that it doesn't get hot enough, but I haven't had that problem. It gets hot enough, you just have to wait for it. I've made grilled cheese, sausage, bacon, and a few other things on it, and haven't wanted for heat yet. I suspect the long eye is going to come in handy when I use a roasting pan on it for making a reduction or some gravy. I didn't know I needed a proof function or a separate warm mode, but it turns out, I really do. Before, I'd turn my old oven down to its lowest temperature (170) and prop the door open if I needed to proof dough, which was pretty wasteful and kept the temp higher than it needed to be, not to mention how hot it made the kitchen in the summer. Keeping things warm was even more of a crapshoot, and often what I was trying to keep warm wound up a litte dried out. No more, and it's funny how sometimes you get something and can't imagine how you got by without them. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity. It's made it four whole weeks, which is an eternity if you're a housefly but less so when you're a major home appliance. If it keeps working like this, I'll have no complaints, but only time will tell, I suppose. So far, so good. So very, very good.
