Customer Questions & Answers

Are porcelain-covered oven racks available for this LG oven? I am looking for the racks that need not be removed during the self-clean process.

Asked by: Researcher1
Your inquiry is appreciated. The LG 6.3 cu. ft. Single Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel Model # LRE3083ST has the EasyClean™ feature which takes advantage of LG’s new enamel to help lift soils without harsh chemicals, and it runs using ONLY WATER for just 20 minutes in low temperatures to help loosen LIGHT soils before hand-cleaning. EasyClean™ is quick and effective for small and LIGHT soils, and then there is the Self Clean feature which can be used to remove HEAVY built up soils. As for porcelain-covered oven racks, LG does not manufacture those, but you can inquire from Home Depot about availability in their stores...^IFV

What kind of plug does the Oven use and what kind of outlet would I need?

LG Electronics 6.3 cu. ft. Single Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel Model# LRE3083ST Store SKU# 1000010301
Asked by: Strawberry
The LG 6.3 cu. ft. Single Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel, Model # LRE3083ST must be installed and grounded on a branch circuit by a qualified technician in accordance with the National Electrical code ANSI/NFPA NO. 70 - latest edition. All wiring should conform to Local and NEC. This range requires a single-phase, 3 wire, A.C 120/208V or 120/240V 60Hz electrical system. Use only a 3-conductor or a 4-conductor UL-listed range cord with closed-loop terminals, open-end spade lugs with upturned ends or similar termination. DO NOT install the power cord without a strain relief. A range cord rated at 40 amps with 120/240 minimum volt range is required. If a 50 amp range cord is used, it should be marked for use with 13/8” diameter connection openings. This appliance may be connected by means of conduit or power cord. Installations where local codes do not allow grounding through the neutral wire require a 4-conductor UL listed range cord or 4 wire conduit connection, so you will need to check with your local building inspector or your building codes to determine whether to use a 3-wire or a 4-wire connection. A 3-wire receptacle has the NEMA configuration of 10-50R and a 4-wire receptacle is 14-50R...^IFV

Asked by: Ixath
It doesn't take very long at all to preheat and when it is preheated the range plays a little tune to let you know it's ready. I really like the oven. The convection bakes perfectly and in the correct amount of time.

Are harmful chemicals used in the blue oven coating? Example: chemicals not exactly banned but known to be unhealthy.

Asked by: ab149
ab149, Thank you for your question regarding the cobalt blue interior of the 6.3 cu. ft. Single Oven Electric Range, Model # LRE3083ST. What you need to know about this unit is that it has not just one listing, but 2! It is UL listed and ETL listed. Both ETL and UL are Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories(NRTLs) whose main function is to provide independent evaluation, testing, and certification of any electrically operated or gas- and oil-fired product. They have to meet true legal requirements to test and certify products for sale in the United States as designated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). If you lived in California, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of Proposition 65. Proposition 65 requires the State to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. This list, which must be updated at least once a year, has grown to include approximately 800 chemicals since it was first published in 1987. You can contact LG Electronics Customer Information Center for the exact nature of what is used to coat the interior blue, in some cases, it's a non-toxic, high heat resistant enamel designed for use in microwave interiors...IFV

6.3 cu. ft. Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 575.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST ON MARKET FOR ME! I spent awhile, comparing ranges, and finally decided on this one. Turns out it is the same as one my daughter-in-law chose for her home. We both love it! Easy to keep clean: burners heat immediately: is beautiful in kitchen; oven bakes with perfection; both with regular heat and convection; three shelves ; beautiful color inside oven; no burner element on bottom of oven, which I like; It also has the feature of being able to change the temperature of the oven, if it goes high or low. Factory setting is right on! The light is great in the oven and you can see all three shelves without opening the door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent range This range is excellent. It preheats to 425 in less than 8 minutes. The burners cool down very quickly for a glass top electric. All in all, glad we bought it!

The LG Range Oven model # LRE3083ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top over the lower right burner made a pop noise and cracked and spread like a spider web. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false, they simply said "we are sorry" a few times and gently tried to fade their fault. Not to waste our time, We let it go. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldn't happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company which took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top. This glass top is not designed for what is made for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Range with 21st Century Features If you need more bottom drawer space, buy the smaller oven size - can't have both! Controls on backstop, safely away from 'smaller hands'! Dual- element feature would be useful on both large elements. Adjustable heat range is great idea. Oven interior is 'stunning' !

I used my new range for the first time tonight to prepare supper and when I was done and ready to wipe stove up, both front burner were scraped. I haven't been able to get hold of anyone yet but has anyone else had this problem? I would think they would be a lot tougher than that. This is an LG electric by the way. I am so disappointed and hope I can get someone to do something about this. It looks old and used with first use.

I have only had the range for a about a month but since I did a lot of cooking for Thanksgiving I did notice then and before then that the oven takes about 1/2 hour to reach the set temperature even though the "temperature reached" sound will go off on the range way before the actual set time is reached (I had two thermostats in the oven to test temperature). I will have to agree with some other reviews that the timer has a annoying sound but at least it does get you to react right away because you just want to turn off the annoying sound. Otherwise I am pleased with how the oven bakes and does not burn the bottom of my food items.
