Rated 2 out of 5 by Flimsy It takes humidity out of the air as it is supposed to just fine. The problem is that I have it connected to a hose to empty into a sump-pump basin. The connecting piece to the drain fits loosely over the drain that empties the water and is held in place by a poorly designed piece of plastic. If you move the unit it comes out of place easily. Also, even when IN place there is no seal, just plastic over plastic so the bucket still fills up over time. (See the photos for illustrations of these points) In my opinion, I should not have to continually empty this bucket manually with a hose-attach feature. October 15, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT BUY! REPLACED 2 SO FAR I bought my original LG Dehumidifier in 2011 and was very pleased with it for the first year. Just short of a year of use, the compressor failed and the unit stopped working. LG Replaced under warranty with a refurbished unit within one week of it quitting. Now the refurbished unit they sent me has stopped working a few short months later. My previous dehumidifier worked for 10 years, daily with no issue. These LG ones seem to only last a year or less before they fail. Now they want me to pay to have it repaired at a repair site over 6 hours from my house! Sorry LG. I'll take my appliance business elsewhere, especially since I was considering all LG in my kitchen for an upcoming remodel! July 8, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Better Units Available Unit functioned OK initially but had several issues before too long. Unit shuts down on required filter maintenance but does not tell you. Had to call manufacturer to resolve. Unit failed permanently just inside of extended warranty expiration. Drain hose fitting poorly designed and filled up bucket anyway!. Save your money and go with some other unit. Seems as though an appliance such as this should last longer. August 9, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lemon Alert....... my lg dehumidifier lasted 13 months. At about 9 months the problem started. First running very hot to the touch for about 30 days. Then it switched to running ice cold to the point of makIng ice on top. Then it just stopped working. I contact LG at one month out of warranty and was told to take it to one of three repair shops they gave me BUT I would have have to pay as its was out of warranty. By one month!!!!!! I replaced it with a GE and love it. It runs great...... Never will I buy another LG product! December 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Garbage This unit worked fine for about 20 months. Then it started leaking water and ran constantly. It was pretty loud. Poor performance. When I took it to the dump, I sat it right next to 2 other identical LG units that both looked brand new. DON'T BUY! May 7, 2012
