Window installation?

I have a 220v, 20 amp outlet for A/C. (It has the funny-looking outlet plug.) *see photo It's also AIMS RIGHT AT OUR HEADS. ...I don't need a 14,000 BTU unit, because it would blast right on us. We don't want colds. So in the 7,000 BTU range, what else do you have for window mount, which is sleek, modern, high efficiency, and will FIT THE OUTLET SHOWN. Please advise. Thanks.
Asked by: NYCR
Hi NYCR. Regrettably, We are unable to see the picture you attached of the outlet, but from the voltage you give and the amperage, it would be safe to assume that you are referring to a socket that has a NEMA configuration of 6-20R which is a standard 2-Pole, 3-Wire Grounding receptacle rated at 20 Amps, 250 VAC. The plug that fits into the socket will have a NEMA configuration of 6-20P which is a grounding pin and one horizontal blade and one perpendicular blade. Unfortunately, units that have a 7,000 BTU rating do not require as much power as the 220V 20A units and they use the standard 2 Pole, 3-Wire grounding receptacle rated at 125 VAC, 15A which are quite different from receptacle you currently have. You will need to change the receptacle for the smaller units...^IFV
