I am looking to install this model. I know it is 220. Does it need the 3 or 4 pronged plug? Also, how many amps should the breaker be?

Answer:
The installation charge for my new dryer included the appropriate new cable. The installer had several different cables on the truck and installed the correct cable on the dryer that matched the plug that I had (in this case a 4 prong).
My breaker is a 30 amp which seems to be common for several of my appliances, including a double oven.

It completely depends on how your outside vent lines up with the exhaust vent on the dryer. In my case, they were almost exactly lined up, so I was able to purchase a flexible vent, cut off most of it, and move my dryer less than 6 inches from the wall. In my case, they were almost exactly lined up, so I was able to purchase a flexible vent, cut off most of it, and move my dryer less than 6 inches from the wall. If you're not so lucky, they make a metal box (available at Home Depot) with vent connections on both sides of a slide. It allows you to slide the box back and forth and rotate it to line up the two sides. In order to make that work, you would need to be able to get to the back of the dryer while it is in its final position, so if you are installing a washer too, do the dryer first. Read Less

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily handles family of 7 Because of some unfortunate circumstances our daughter and her 4 children had to move in with us. The amount of laundry we have was overwhelming for me.....until our previous 5 yr. old washer died from overuse! I researched washers and dryers and settled on 2 Brands based on reviews, service and price. We decided to go with LG because of the service and reliability of LG. When you want to know insider info. ask a salesperson that hears customer complaints and technicians that work on multiple brands. I used to cringe at the amount of laundry our family generates. We live in the country and the type of work my husband does is really dirty most days.Plus we have 2 grandsons that play sports and get very dirty too. The heavy duty cycles make cleaning and drying their clothes easy and much faster. The wave technology ensures a clean load. And with a steam cycle and drying rack the dryer can handle any thing my family throws at me. (not literally) LOL We also have toddler and teenaged granddaughters. Their clothes are delicate and I love the gentle options provided to help care for their clothes. I am smiling now when I hear the little song signaling my laundry is done. It still surprises me how much faster the loads are finished compared to my old washer and dryer. With the large capacity, clothes wash better and don't wrinkle as much and dry faster too. No more overwhelm. Thanks LG

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment Our previous dryer had to be replaced only after two years. It would "eat" our clothes - leaving a black mark on them. We went the less expensive route thinking all we needed was to get our clothes dried. Before purchasing this dryer, I did a lot more research looking at ratings to see what others had to say about the product quality and longevity. We use our dryer about 5 times per week so I did not want to have to worry about replacing it after a couple of years like the previous time. We went with the LG dryer after looking at the ratings. It was more than I wanted to pay, but it has been more than worth it. It is nice to have dryer that just does what it should - dry, but not damage my clothes. I do like the other options and the feature where it adjusts the time based on how quickly the clothes have drried. We still not have used all the features, but could not be more pleased. Sorry for the long review, but I hope it is helpful to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My wife absolutely loves this dryer After two and half years of using a brand new lower quality washer and dryer that came with our new townhouse, my wife wanted a new set with more options and ones that actually cleaned the clothes. She absolutely loves this set and calls them her "Cadillac" washer and dryer. They are very easy to use and they do everything she wants them to do. The clothes come out so much better than they used to with the old machines. She can't stop talking about them and shows them off to everyone who comes over. They handle even the king size quilts we have with ease. They are so quiet you hardly know they are even running. All around excellent machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient and intelligent! The extra large capacity is awesome, clothes come out virtually wrinkle free, no more twisted sheets that are impossibly wrinkled. The steam feature is great for refreshing pillows and large dry clean only blankets and comforters. I claimed this dryer is intelligent because when you choose a cycle and push start, the time for drying is displayed, but I know that is stops much sooner if the load is smaller and/or drier than the cycle allows for. It makes folding clothes a much simpler and pleasurable task, not to mention the lack of a need for an iron!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT DRYER I love this dryer. I bought the washer/dryer set. They offer great features. I love that they are energy saving for one. I like the dryer rack for drying shoes, sweaters etc...This wasnt a feature Ive had before. Definately comes in handy. This dryer has my clothes dry in 40 minutes. I also like the True Steam feature. This dryer also sings a 5 second tune at end of cycle. This dryer is a great product. LG did not dissapoint with this washer/dryer set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT DRYER I purchased this dryer with a LG washer just a few months ago. I couldn't be happier. This product works like a dream even with bamboo sheets which can be a nightmare if not properly attended to. I recommend this to everyone in need of a replacement for an old machine. Because of the quality of this product it will probably out live me.
