Do I like the cool air coming out? Yes. Was it easy to install? Yes. User friendly features? Yes. Does it sound like an airplane is taking off in my living room? Yes.
The product is great. I just can't take the noise. I have a headache from this. I can't hear the TV... or myself think. My central air broke and would not be fixed for several days. This unit was cheaper than a hotel room nearby. I'll return it tomorrow and either rent the room or deal with the heat for a few days (of course a heatwave begins tomorrow). The noise isn't worth it. No quiet enjoyment here. It goes back!

I did quite a bit of research on this product as I wanted to be sure that it would work on my type of windows. After reading the directions I understand that my windows are called casement windows which slide from right to left. The total height of my window was 57". The product states that you get enough window vent panels for a maximum of 50". The panels are label A,B,C, D. You get all four panels and depending on your window application you use the proper panels according to their directions. To get the 50" you use only three panels. I was thinking of adding a 7" spacer to work on my 57" window to cover the whole window. What I did I used all four panels which came out to about 59". They give you enough screws to couple 3 panels together. Since I couple all four panel I use one of my own screws to attach all four together. The adhesive foam insulation that comes with it is enough for 50". I use some of my own foam that I cut into one inch strips for the right side of the window. The left side of the panel assembly I used their adhesive foam and put the sticky side to the panel and not to the window that way when I remove the assembly during the winter months I won't lose the foam insulation and will remain adhered to the panel assembly. I hope that I made myself clear on my installation as there might be more people out there with the same type of application as mine. I have been using the unit for about two weeks and so far it has worked fine with no problems. I keep mine at 75 and the fan speed on low or high but it does a good job. I called their tech support listed on the manual but the tech that I talk to was lost on what I was asking. I think their support is in a foreign country somewhere so if you do call them Good Luck. I am attaching the pictures of my window installation. They tell the whole story. The vent hose is a bit bulky but workable. I haven't had an issue of it getting extremely hot that would require to be insulated. The noise level is a bit less compare to using a standing oscillating fan. The unit was worth buying and has kept the room a lot cooler. I am satisfied thus far.

Bought online and within a couple hours it was ready to be picked up in person.
Things you might need:
Measuring tape (to measure your window)
Also you might need someone to help you hold the panels against your window if it's casement style. (I did it myself, did not ask hubby for help but just in case I mentioned it here)

The reviews that others posted were very helpful, so I figured I should help the next person.
This is a good unit for the price (and free shipping). It cooled my [13x8] room almost immediately. Most of the posts that made me hesitant about buying this air conditioner were complaints about the unit being too loud. Well take it from an everyday guy like myself: this A/C unit is no louder than any other window unit that I've ever used. Not sure what those people were expecting, but it's still an air conditioner people! One gripe that I did have was that the duct is flimsy, but if you're careful it should be fine.

I purchased this unit, for two reasons, first my roommate like to keep the house at 80 degrees, and secondly my HOA doesn't allow window units... I've had the unit for almost a month now and its working fine, every once in a while I notice the thermostat on it will read incorrectly (one night it said it was 95 in my room when I knew it was in the upper 60s low 70s...) but so far thats the only issue I've had.
So far I've run it almost every night (8+ hours a night) and still have not had to empty the water collection
As far as the noise, I'd say its about average with other window units I've had in the past.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darlene It was love at first sight!
When I took the unit out of the box, I liked that it was packed very well. I was shocked that it looked so substantial...and so shiny. Nobody ever wanted to sit back and admire a window unit, but this little sweetheart is so nice that I don't mind putting it in the living room.
I bought more BTU's than I really needed because I read that these units don't quite measure up to the window units. It hasn't been over 90 degrees since I hooked it up last month so not sure if I bought too much or not. I needed 6,000 and I bought 8,000. I have minimal insulation now but will be adding six inches of UltraTouch soon.
When I turn the unit on, the curtains eight feet away start moving, so it has quite a blast when on high. The controls are very simple. I haven't used the remote...I just set it and forget it.
Configuring the hose is easy. You can gently twist the hose to all sorts of configurations. Mine comes out the back and turns up, then turns right to meet the window. The hose is NOT an ugly distraction...I was dreading to see what it looked like but find it looks great when hooked up. It is very compact once you set it the way you need it.
One minor problem on my end...I live in a toy hauler that I am converting to a tiny apartment and the old round windows won't accept the square insert where the hose attaches. I made my own out of styrofoam to use until the new windows are installed. The insert I made is ugly but only temporary.
The unit is what most will call loud. However I love the loudness because it drowns out the traffic and neighbors. I find it very soothing. Others may want a quiet unit.
I always hated those dirty drippy window units and all the maintenance they require. I especially hated taking them out every time a hurricane headed this way. I will be able to keep this unit looking like new because I can access the entire unit when cleaning, and all I have to do if a hurricane comes this way is remove the hose insert and close the window. It's easy to move this type unit from window to window...try that with a window unit.
This unit is very solid...looks top heavy but it is not going to topple unless your kiddos knock it over while playing. I would not put it in a toddler's room, though, since they tend to climb on everything.
My advise is to consider this unit if you are looking at window units. Everyone has different needs but if you have to go this route, I think you may be pleased. I love mine.

I replaced my 10-year-old air conditioner with this model from LG. The hot weather isn't really here yet, but so far I'm very pleased. The LG unit has a number of features I particularly like, e.g. the remote control, and the timer which can be used to switch the appliance both on and off.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eshprof Really cooled down our bedroom!
Our master bedroom faces the sun most of the day and shares a wall with our garage attic. Needless to say, this room roasts in the summer. Our HOA does not allow a window air conditioner (even though I would do it every year until I got a letter in the mail). My wife and I decided that we should just go ahead and get a portable air conditioner and after reading the reviews decide to get this one. I am so glad I did. Our bed room began to cool down immediately and we just looked at each other and went "wow". The room went from 85 to 74 (which is where we set it) in no time and we slept quite comfortably that evening. It would have gotten much colder if I set it to do so. I set it to automatically turn off in the middle of the night which was perfect of us. To the people that are complaining about his not cooling their room down, I have a few thoughts. (Maybe this pertains to you) This is for a 10 X 20 room. The key here is room... as in having the door closed. If you are putting this in the den of your home that connects to the kitchen or living room, you no longer have a 10 X 20 room. You now have open space and doubled the size of the area you want to cool. If that was your expectation, then you bought the wrong product. You need something much bigger. If you are looking for something to cool down your bedroom(s) at night then I think you will be very pleased with this product. Too, I have been reading where people say it is noisy. Compared to a window hanging unit, this is exceptionally quiet. I am very pleased that we bought this and I couldn't be happier.
