Is the gas dryer sent with any connectors?

This question is from 9.0 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White

Is the natural gas dryer sent with any connectors? I'm told a 3/8" standard natural gas flex line will not attach to it without adapters. If not, what exactly is needed to connect the LG dryer to a 3/8 flex line.

Does this machine require a water hookup? I presume if it's going to make steam it needs water. Does it just require cold water if so? Thanks,

Mark

It has a small container that you pull out on the left front & fill with water. An indicator light lets you know if it needs refilling when selecting a Steam dry setting option

Answer:
Hello Mark.
Thank you for your inquiry.
The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White Model # DLGX8001W does not require a water hookup for the steam. It has a Steam Feeder that has to be manually filled with just cold water up to the MAX line. You cannot use distilled water as that prevents the water level sensor in the steam generator from functioning. The water used cannot exceed 86°F/30°C...^IFV

Can the LG model # DLGX8001W be converted to LP gas?

We are considering the above dryer and only have LP gas available. Is there a conversion kit available? I understand that your installers won't install to LP, but in the past I've been able to have the a natural gas dryer converted with an available kit.

Answer:
Gas supply requirements:
As shipped from the factory, this dryer is configured for use with natural gas. It can be converted for use with LP (Liquefied Propane) gas. Gas pressure must not exceed 13 inches of water column.
For LP, orifice the kit order part number 383EEL3002D, it should be installed by a qualified technician and the change should be noted on the dryer.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY!!!! I purchased the matching set from Home Depot in November 2008. The washer had to be repaired in 2011 and the cost was over $350.00. The dryer heating element has gone out 3 times since January 2015. They are not made to last. These repairs cost me over $450.00 for the first 2 replacements. I will buy another dryer today. I will never buy another LG product!!!!!! They are 3 times more expensive and if you can find a repairman who works on them you will pay 3 times the cost of repairs. Parts are expensive!!!! All labor is too!!! My repairman said these washers and dryers usually last 7 to 10 years and then you must replace or start paying out the nose for repairs!!! December 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Difficult to clean plastic Lint Filter broke in four months The lint filter is the weak link that makes this an un-recommendable dryer. the filter is a plastic folder that you have to remove, open, clean lint from floppying walls, refold and reinsert. If all thats not bad enough, its plastic hinges broke after four months making holes in the thin filter fabric and protruding so it is unable to be reinserted into machine. LG does not include this $25 part in their warranty so it could cost $75 a year for replacements. the buttons are hard to see inside the touch sensitive glass unlike real buttons on the kenmore version. the options are too many and it locks you into things you may not want.. like the cotton setting is locked on medium heat and you can not change it to high heat, you have to make another selection for high heat that locks you into 51 minutes instead of the 41 minutes on cotton. The size and look is great but I prefer a bit smaller simple $300 GE with a screen lint filter below door that I just swipe my had across to clean and a knob to select time and temp and a start button. simple, durable, affordable is what I want. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE DOING LAUNDRY NOW!! These replaced my 10 yr old set which still worked well but weren't cutting my laundry needs. Small load capacity being a big one as I couldn't even wash my daughter's twin sheets & comforter w/o it being crammed let alone the rest of my comforters. The fact that these had the largest capacity available made me consider the high price tag. After months of researching we finally decided to purchase them in April of this year. I've now done what would equate to 2-3 yrs worth of laundry for my old set in the 7 mo. I've owned these. I can wash & dry my King comforter; my sons full size comforter w/ sheets a blanket and a few extra clothes in one load, both my kids full laundry baskets in one load & practically every towel I own & I love the towel setting which takes out the dingy "wet" smell that some washers leave. With all the custom settings I've washed odd items like my kids stuffed animals, pillows, even shoes. My 9 & 11 yr old kids can even use them they're so simple. I could go on & on but most of all I don't spend an entire day (or days) of the week doing laundry anymore which was well worth my purchase. October 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Have had the dryer for several months. Am disappointed with a few things. First, items are not always dried when the proper cycle is chosen. When you try to select it again to dry it will only run for a few seconds and shut off sensing the clothes are dry when they are not. I've even tried switching to another cycle and the machine stops just the same. So I end up with slightly wet items that i have to put outside or hang up to dry. The panel lights are really hard to read. The steam cycle does not take wrinkles out of clothes that you want to remove without having to iron like my old machine did. The lint trap is flimsy. Lastly the since the washer does not always get clothes etc smelling really fresh, when they are dried, there is now a constant odor after running the dryer like slightly soiled clothes. Mind you I'm an extra clean freak and wash clothes after wearing one time. So I''m not talking about stuff sitting around stinky for days or a week! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't stack these Solid dryer and huge capacity. I have the set and stacked them but they are very tall. At 6' I am still reaching up to touch the buttons. Stacking appliances that are this tall presents vibration issues that I'm not sure can be fixed easily. I hear moving parts in my dryer clanging around when the washer starts the spin cycle. Great units.. on the ground. January 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally a steam dryer Finally got a new dryer and what a difference... Clothes smell much better and can dry anything because the capacity is huge. January 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works bought this over a year ago still looks good and had no problems with it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] March 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked for one week I purchased this dryer and it worked fine for one week except in the steam cycle which just spattered out drops of water all over the clothes. Then the heat quit working. The repair man came and got it working again for one dry cycle. The next dry cycle worked sporadically and then stopped heating. The time dry worked for a while and then stopped. I can't believe that I spent over $1,000 for this much aggravation. I'll try to update this review after the repair person makes his next visit.
