This dishwasher was a waste of money. Glasses need to be rewashed as the film left on the inside of the glass is terrible. Coffee cups come out with coffee rings covering the sides. Plates have leftover food film on them. We pre-rinse everything that goes into the washer before and they still come out looking terrible. We run the water at the sink to get hot before running the machine, use rinse agent and liquid detergent. Don't waste your money. Look for a different brand!

Got this dishwasher a couple weeks ago. So far so good. It is so much nicer and quieter than our old one. I can't compare it to other newer options, but the technology has come a long way since our old one, which was only about 10 yrs old.
The stainless steel tub makes it seem much more high quality and sturdier. The controls are easy to use and the dishes come out clean. Installed it myself without a problem. It was much harder getting the old on out than the new one in.
Basically, this washer is as good as the $700 models, if you don't need the top, hidden buttons and handle. We didn't care about that and saved a couple hundred bucks. Looks nice, washes nice. We're happy with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Texas Another Terrific LG Product
Dishwasher arrived in perfect condition--delivery was scheduled with convenience. It is so attractive and works great. I would recommend paying the extra amount for installation because although my husband is handy, the install was difficult. The machine fits perfectly and does a super job washing. You will definitely need a good rinse aid so dishes dry appropriately. There is no conventional dryer and the rinse aid is required to dry. It is so quiet, we run it after bedtime and it doesn't make a peep. I previously purchased an LG washer machine and I am really happy with the brand. Glad I made this purchase--well worth the money.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Homeowner Better than I expected
I am writing this review after recently being forced to replace my 10 year old Bosch 2 days before Thanksgiving and needing something in stock that I could take home and install ASAP. My Bosch was the top of the line at the time and it replaced a Kitchenaid top of the line dishwasher so I am reviewing this dishwasher from a different perspective in that I have had mostly high end appliances before and had trepidations about buying a mid range LG a brand I have no experience with. Reading other reviews I was disappointed with many reviews and how people were rating this unit for silly reasons so I will attempt to do better to help others make the right decision.
Cleaning - Obviously the reason we use a dishwasher, it cleans dishes better than my $1400 Bosch IF you use the right detergent AND rinse aid. Dishwasher detergents are not created equal and if you think so you are simply mistaken. I have the best luck with Finish Quantum, the one with red ball, not their other products this was the same as my Bosch. The LG has a food grinder while the Bosch has only a filter which must be cleaned frequently and even then still would leave food particles on the food if they weren't thoroughly rinsed before loading. Edge LG
Build Quality - I did feel that the Bosch had a slightly higher but considering I paid less than $500 for this LG during the Black Friday sale compared to $1400 for my Bosch I would expect this but it wasn't that great or even anyone thing that I can point to just a sense that the metals and plastics were a little heavier and stronger. Time will tell if this has any impact. Edge. Bosch
Rack Features - After reading reviews complaining about the racks, all I can say you should have to live with the racks in the Bosch many small plastic clips that constantly fall off, get lost don't really let you adjust them the way you need etc. in other words the Bosch racks might look good in the store but were awful to live with. I think racks are somewhat subjective to a users needs, dish size and shape etc. and a learning curve to learn the best way to load our dishes in a new machine. Many of the complaints I read such as the bottom rack falling out if opened to fast also applied to the Bosch because they simply have flanged wheels that ride on a ridge molded into the door, but putting it back is simply a matter of sitting it back on the door track, think of placing a toy train back on the track. Overall I prefer the LG racks to the Bosch which left me cursing anytime I tried to make any adjustments. Edge. LG
Noise - This is a very relative and subjective opinion. Anyone replacing an older mid-line machine will probably feel this LG is incredibly quiet barely noticeable when operating but compared to the Bosch which is the quietest dishwasher on the market ,42 dB, it does make a noticeable level of sound when operating but certainly not an obnoxious amount and definitely not a $900 difference. Edge Bosch but at what price.
Cycle time - much has been written about the long cycle time and it is true they do take a little longer, but what is also true is my dishes come out cleaner, I only use normal cycle, AND my plastics come out dry and ready to put away. The Bosch would leave my plastics dripping wet even overnight and would have to be put in the dish drainer to dry. I personally can live with the longer cycle time. Edge. LG
Since this is getting too long I will try to,summarize overall I am very satisfied with this machine after 30 days of use how I will feel after 5 years is unknown but given that it was significantly less than a Bosch with as many advantages in my opinion I think I got my monies worth. I will rate it 5 stars against machines in the $500-700 price range and maybe 4 against machines selling for $1000 or more.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by iel1 Great dishwasher, lousy instructions
We just bought this dishwasher. Since my son-in-law has his own construction business I chose him for the installation since he has installed a number of dishwashers. Everything hooked up easily but nowhere in the instructions do they mention there is a plug at the in the drainage hose that must be removed otherwise, the dishwasher will not drain. So, I must give a 5 to the Home Depot delivery service and zero to the staff who writes the instructions. As far as the dishwasher, it is very quiet. I will give another review once I actually use the washer. As long as you remove the plug in the drainage line, I would recommend this dishwasher.

I couldn't believe how quiet this Dishwasher was. I couldn't tell if it was even on and I can't believe LG has another model that is even quieter. The look of the dishwasher is nice and the multi-color panel makes it very hip. They even give you a cool little jingle when the cycle is completed instead of annoying beep or buzzer. The washer has a sturdy feel and everything is constructed very sturdy. We are really digging LG appliances.

The good: it looks nice
The bad: it doesn't clean the dishes regardless of how much I rinse, pretty much prewash them, or add a second rinse to the load. Also, it doesn't have an indicator light for when the dishes are done...really?! If I start a load in the morning my husband has no clue if the load is clean when he gets home...especially since 1/2 of them are still soiled! Our other dishwasher was 10 years old and cleaned perfectly, it's not the water pressure or the detergent, it's the machine. Sad. Wondering if we can exchange it for something that works, and has a light indicating the load is done? This thing is frustrating!

I really like that the bottom rack tines fold down. The silverware holder is big but can be broken down into one, two or all three sections. The top rack can be positioned higher or lower to the top of the machine based on need. The tines on the upper rack don't fold down but they can be angled if you choose.
The instructions definitely want you to use a rinse aid. There is even an alert light that comes on if it gets low. The dishwasher is really quiet. It doesn't have a heated drying option but I haven't found it necessary. Because the tub is stainless it holds the heat from the water and uses that to dry the dishes. Of course, as with all dishwashers, plastics don't get completely dry but everything else does..
