Owned for less than a year and had major issues. The dishwasher stopped draining before eventually not working at all. LG customer service acknowledged it was a faulty appliance. After several calls and emails over two weeks, they claimed that they could not find an authorized repair service in my area. I live in the US within two hours of several major metropolitan areas and within an hour and a half from 3 Home Depots. Three more weeks have passed and they have yet to fix it or agreed to replace it. LG will not honor their warranty. Beware!

With all of the buzz around finding a dishwasher that cleans without the phosphates of old; I have been pleased with the performance, quiet operation, and aesthetics of this dishwasher. I especially like the steam option, the third rack, re-configurability of tines in the racks, and the ability to adjust the second rack's height.

We bought this dishwasher based on customer reviews. Hate it! Have to scrub all dishes or else food residue is left behind. Awkward racks that won't stay in place. Seems like there is less space. Valves close very hard on water line that make the pipes jerk in our home which defeats the point of a quiet dishwasher. Wish we could get a refund! :( Bottom rack comes off track very easily when pulled out or pushed in.

We've had this dishwasher for a month and a half or so and just love it! Hands down, it's the best dishwasher I've ever had the pleasure of using.
There really aren't any negatives to this dishwasher. It does everything advertised and then some. No food left on my dishes or utensils (I do a light pre rinse in the sink before putting them in the dishwasher), very quiet operation, easily adjustable upper basket, the third utensil rack is a great feature (frees up a lot of space down below), and it's nice to look at.

I have had this for a month and maybe I was never aware how long it takes to run the dishwasher but the steam setting is over 2hours. That seems long. I like the ability to bend down the wires to fit dishes the way you need. Very functional. I also like the tray on the top for knives and cooking utensils.

This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I've ever owned. Unless I use the strongest steam setting, the dishes come out dirty. My plates will not stand up when stacked - they lean over on each other. The folding tines fall down at the slightest touch. Based on my experience with this product, I will never purchase an LG appliance again. Don't waste your money. This is NOT a cheap machine.

This dishwasher is one amazing piece of equipment for the price. You will be please with this if the directions are followed to the letter. First make certain your running this on a dedicated circuit with a minimum of a 15amp breaker. Also check to make certain the wiring going to the washer is at least 14AWG most places you buy a washer from including Sears will give you the wrong one (16AWG). The 16AWG is simply too small to power all the functions simultaneously your dishwasher will have to run longer and you may overheat your wire if you do not have the correct size. If you do not understand this make sure you call an electrician to verify all is setup properly.
Make sure the unit is LEVEL as this will affect performance and make certain when it is installed that the drain hose is installed as instructed by the manual.
Also since this unit does not have the typical huge electric heater coil in the bottom of it you need to make sure your hot water you supply to it fall within the specification in the manual.
If you follow these guidelines you should have no problems.
Installation if standard is extremely simple. The levelers on all 4 feet can be adjusted from the front of the unit allowing you to level it without pulling it in and out.
Washing performance has been excellent but what I like most about this washer is how QUIET it is. It is amazingly quiet. So quiet that when I first started it up to test it I couldn't tell it was even turned on. Amazing.
Consumer reports gave this washer a very high rating and considering it doesn't cost 2 or 3 thousand dollars but merely 1K or less is impressive.
The only complaint that anyone has had about this washer that I don't find as a flaw is the dryer. It does not dry dishes as well as the older washers. However I don't have an issue with this. Old washers used the electric heat coil to heat up the dishes to evaporate the water. Dishes if they fell down would melt on this coil and the dishes would simply get cooked. Again if you follow the suggestions in the manual this will be no problem.
If anyone is experiencing spots on dishes do what the manual suggests and use the rinse aid or a detergent with the rinse aid in it.
If you get spots beyond this then your water may be too hard or dirty. That's a filtration or water softener issue.
The amount of usable space inside the unit is nice. The door opens lower to the floor than most washers however it means you have more spaces for dishes. We have a huge family sized crock pot that never fit in the typical washers and now we can wash it with tons of other dishes at the same time. Saving us even more money.
The efficiency rating is high on this unit but it's even higher if you take into account that you will have to do less loads because of the capacity the savings just jump up.
If I were to complain at all; and I am not, I would say if there was a dimmer feature on the front lights that would help however it's not an issue and it does help to inform you how far along the washing is since it's so quiet.
When it's finished it plays a pleasant song informing you. I found this to be a nice touch. If you don't like this it can be disabled.
Some complain about the controls being on the top. However I say don't buy a dishwasher with top controls if you don't like them. I personally like it and it looks cleaner. Some say you can't see the timer to see how far along it is. Well that is just lazy. All you do is open the door and look. The washer pauses when you do this. If someone is truly bothered by these things then don't buy it. There are many other options available to you in the world of dishwashers.
In conclusion I am giving it 5 stars because LG has brought future technology to the public at a reasonable price and the overall construction is great. All issues can be overcome by reading the directions then following them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chatterbox I love my LG products.
My husband and I bought the LG frig last year, and have been so extremely pleased, that we decided to finish upgrading our appliances this year, which means new dishwasher, microwave, and range. We are both very pleased. The dishwasher cleans even the scrubbiest, dirtiest dishes. I mean we can literally place our corning ware in without scrubbing them ahead of time, and they come out as clean as can be. I do not have a problem with the sound at all. I can sit and watch TV while the dishwasher is running and not miss a single word on my television. I guess if I had anything negative to say at all, and it is not really a negative, is that I'm having to get use to how to load all of our dishes in there effectively. To get the most use of it, and get our family of five, all our dishes in there. I absolutely love the very top, where you can place all your flatware. And it even has a caddy that can be taken out, that you can place flatware in as well. I love that you can lay down the tines so you can arrange for different things to be put in the dishwasher. I can't say enough positive about this dishwasher. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it.
