I happened upon this review page while looking for an appliance for my daughter. I normally read reviews but seldom write one, but I am so pleased with this purchase that I told my spouse when we move again, this dishwasher goes with us even if we have to purchase one to take it's place under the counter!
This dishwasher was purchased as part of an overall kitchen redo about two years ago and it has been the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. In fact, in the beginning I used to go look to make sure it was really on. For that reason alone I would rate it highly.
It also cleans very well, my disclaimer being that I remove baked-on food stuffs before putting anything in a dishwasher so don't know how it works on heavily soiled pots and pans. (Being on a septic system, I don't allow food remains to go down the drain.)
-- VERY quiet. Cleans well. Loads easily.
-- The top rack spines are such as to accommodate dinnerware, but I normally use the bottom dinnerware holder, and the top rack for large utensils (ie, large kitchen knives, tongs, spatulas)
-- The top rack trays can be removed easily for loading and unloading. But yes, they do come out un-expectantly unless properly put in place.
-- Both middle and bottom racks have spines that fold to accommodate large items; very handy!
-- The washer has been in use for 2 years now and neither the outside, racks or stainless steel tub show any wear.
-- Price. This is not a cheap washer, but then quality never is. It also goes on sale occasionally making it a value worth-while purchase.
-- The top controls are sometimes difficult to see when mounted under a counter top with the traditional 2" overhang. Fortunately the various functions light up when pressed and can be programmed with the door open, making them easier to see. (Note: Nothing activates until you close the door...)
-- The "Auto" function will take 2 hrs 15 minutes to finish, so is best used when time is not of concern. The "Heavy" function takes even longer: 2:45 ; "Normal" takes ~1:15
(Enclosed literature gives a complete chart of functions, their wash temps, heat temps, water usage, cycle times, and spray intensities.)
-- A rinse aid is a must. Without it your items WILL spot, even if you are using softened water. Apparently there is no heating element in this model and dishes dry with the use of a rinse aid and the "hybrid drying system". Also, if you don't use a rinse aid water will remain in the tub.

Before buying this product you should double check the company warranties. Our Dishwasher began showing signs of surface rust on the stainless steel exterior less than 4 months in service. The company representatives stated that is considered cosmetic and NOT covered. When I asked how Stainless Steel could be rusting, especially on a dishwasher a kitchen appliance that uses water I was told they couldn't get in to the coatings they use but its not covered. If you are considering a stainless steel appliance I would stay away from LG.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Victor Tacky Sticker Not Intended To Be Removed
I love Home Depot's delivery, and installation and price so I ordered my dishwasher from them. It was installed great but the washer has a tacky 10 year warranty metal sticker not shown in photos that LG recommends not removing as it will damage the steal front. It is truly awful and an eyesore!! The top shelf seems like a good idea until one starts using it. It is simply in the way and flies off easily. Normal wash has been going on for over 2 hours. It says if you really want stuff to be dry add extra dry setting and the manual says that takes 60 minutes. Yikes!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by auburn2000 LG Dishwasher with 3rd rack
My only issue with my dishwasher is I put in the rinse aid which is required to get everything spotless but I would wash dishes and three nights later the snowflake comes on to let me know the rinse aid is low so to add some. I do it again and two days later the icon flashes again. Not sure why I had used almost a half a bottle and then it drips out when I shut the door so I have to go in and wipe it down. I have had it for less than a month now and I have used almost a bottle of rinse aid. I tells you where to fill it to but you can't really see it. Not happy about that. My other dishwasher you filled to the top and that was it and it lasted a long time. Not sure about this one as I just filled it again. I will see how long this time lasts as I put a lot more in then I did the first couple of times.
I do like the 3rd rack, however I did turn the racks front to back so they are deeper as I couldn't figure out how spatulas would work... but they do if you turn the racks around then have a lower area. Also I lowered the second rack so it wouldn't scrape on the top rack when I put small dishes in ... very easy lowering I have to say, just hold down the blue handles on each side and it drops.
Overall I think it is a bit pricey but I do like it. It washes the dishes well.
Still getting used to the racks for the silverware, I'm not used to that. Also the 3rd rack will hold tiny items that normally would fall through... tiny spoons and corn skewers ... good for that . The Stainless front would be easier if it was the non fingerprint metal,
More features than I need I just use power and normal to wash but lots of other options.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CJ Great Washer; amazingly quiet
Washer is very impressive - good looking; effective washing dishes, drying is very good. only quibble is the detergent tray feels a bit flimsy. probably more of a 4.5 stars than 4.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LB Average Review. Would choose another model.
We purchased the unit almost two months ago. Overall, it is a very nice looking unit. The stainless steel design is sleek. It operates almost silently, and I love the third rack (cutlery rack). The third rack was the main reason I chose this unit over others. We replaced a 7 year old Maytag.
The lack of drying options was no concern for us, since we normally let the dishes air dry anyway.
The wash cycle times are very long, so we usually choose the quick wash option. We typically rinse off our dishes before loading them. I have noticed some small white spots appearing on our glasses - I'm hoping that resolves itself quickly. We have a household water softener and we use a rinse aid in the unit, so there's no reason for the hard water marks to be appearing. We had no such problems with our previous dishwasher.
My two biggest complaints are:
(1) the LED panel doesnt light up when the power button is pressed. The power button lights up and the timer displays, but that's it. I can barely see the panel options, they are so dark (dark grey on black). This does not make any sense at all to me. I would assume that all the panel lights would engage until I make my choice of wash options, then the other lights would disengage. No such luck. There are a number of nifty wash options available, but they are pretty much useless to me because I cannot see them. I have memorized where the quick wash button is, so I can press it and get the dishes washed. I dont have time to read the manual or get out the flashlight every time I do the dishes.
(2) there is no clean wash indicator light anywhere. I am really shocked by this. Every dishwasher I've owned in the past 15 years has had a clean wash indicator. I'm getting a little irritated having to ask my husband 2 or 3 times per week to ask: are these clean? I cant believe that a dishwasher this advanced is missing something so simple.
All in all, I would probably have chosen another unit if I had known about the led panel issue and the lack of clean wash indicator. Paying the extra money for the third rack doesnt seem like it was worth it at this point.
