Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good price this was just what I wanted 4 stroke generator and it runs really good September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid overall and nice for the price Besides the fact that the instructions are horrendous and it arrived with a bent leg, this is a nice little generator. It runs well and does the job, relatively quiet (measured at 83 decibels with no load against the 63 its listed as). Its small and well built, easily portable and very functional. The biggest downside I have seen is that the choke is labeled backwards and the instructions essentially tell you the opposite of what you should do. Also, the valve for where the fuel is fed into the engine is not at the bottom of the tank, so you almost need 3/4 fill to get this thing going. Otherwise, once you figure out its oddities, it starts easy and runs very nicely. September 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WOW, awesome little beast. This item is small yet quiet and when you add a load not too much difference in noise. First I will start with the cons: Does not have fuel gauge, and recieved with unbalanced rubber feet due to bending from shipping (just added metal washers to the rubber feet and it balanced out), that's the reason for four stars. Pros: This genny is lightweight and powerful. I plugged in a full size fridge and a microwave with 1300W and it ran flawlessly quiet. Nice looking too. To the poster that made a mess trying to fill the oil and to others, it does take 10fl oz. of oil. I would definately purchase this item again if need be. Love it now but, only time will tell if Lifan makes great products. June 12, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT HappY! First the problems. Arrived double boxed with no damage to packaging, but inside there was damage. Spark plug was broken off, connector end stuck in the plug wire connector and dangling on the side of the generator. Was broken off at the base of the white ceramic/metal base. Removed part from connector with vice grips. Had to buy a new spark plug and install. Generator is VERY, VERY LOUD! I don't understand how people actually said this generator was quiet at all. Will not recommened- save your money and buy a real quiet generator. July 27, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Chinese Trash, Wouldn't Even Start Ordered generator online, and it arrived several days later. I took it out of box and tried to start it, then realized that the low oil sensor was stuck. I removed the plug to the oil sensor, and continued to try to start it for 30 minutes. It would not crank over. I then wrote the CEO of the company a personal email, and he returned a generic form response which basically equated to "Sorry about you're luck" and "There is nothing we can or are willing to do". I won't do business with Lifan in the future, November 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A fantastic little generator First off I have to thank Home Depot for speedy and fast delivery. Generator came on time and packaged very well. I added the oil a little gas and on the second pull it was running. The lifan 1500 seems to be about as quite as my friends Yamaha generator. My friend as a 5000 btu window air conditioner. We hooked the unit to my Lifan and it started the unit with no problem. Then we shut the air conditioner off and tried it again and again. Most of the time my new generator did start the air conditioner. I do understand that the air conditioner needed more starting watts than my generator really is putting out. But I'm more than happy with the Lifan easy start and quit what more can you ask for. Also very lite at about 50 pounds take it any where. And a fantastic price for what you are getting. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the money. I purchased this genny to run the lights on my boat while I was bowfishing at night. It runs 4 lights with 225w bulbs perfectly. The best part is how quite it is. The downsides are it can be difficult to start...sometimes requiring 10 -20 pulls. The other downside is the access to the spark plug. There is a hole in the sheet metal top that has a plastic plug covering it. The alignment between the hole and the plug did not allow the wrench to access the plug. I had to hammer a depression on one side of the metal to allow the correct angle. To me this was a slight inconvenience...more of a disappointment that someone would build something that was that out of spec. The hole is about 2" in diameter and not meant to assess anything else, so it should be orientated so access is easy. Overall I would buy this again. For the price, I don;t think it can be beat. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great generator for the money Arrived much quicker than I had expected. Had small problem initially with the float sticking. Had gas pouring out of the overflow, but a couple of taps on the bowl with a hammer fixed it. Always starts with one pull, and has run perfectly since that first problem. Much better than the 2 cycle one I use to have. Have run it about 20 hours so far, so we will see how it holds up with more use. March 28, 2012
