Energy Storm 2,800-Watt 150cc Gasoline Powered Electric Start Inverter Generator with Remote Start is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from good intentions with no delivery for the first four days product worked well. on the fifth day it would no longer start even after countless pulls, new spark plug and oil change. was stranded on a primitive camping area with no power. the instruction manual is really a joke and the remote control with one of the two buttons working with no mention what so ever in the manual is simply a trial by error process. , the key has an off, on, and start, however the start does not work. the bottom line, i returned the product to home depot and replaced it with the ryobi inverter generator which has been working like a champ and is much quietier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from customer service I have a 2800 watt Energy Storm generator. You may have seen some of my reveiws on this unit. I finally got tired of pushing the primer scores of times to get it to start.I had emailed Lifan several times without an answer. So I called and got the Service Mgr(Dan). I explained my problem and he informed me that it most likely was the primer bulb that was the problem. As my unit was still under warranty he sent me one right out. I changed out the bulb and the unit started right up. Was I surprized!. Runs great. Lifan has a well run center.Everbody I talked to was well mannered and helpful. Thanks Dan for your advice and the primer. So parts are avalible along with good advice. My unit isn't remote start

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product meets expectations once you understand how to make it function. - Product does not have 12 volt output as described. - There is reference to an oil chart that did not exist in my documentation. - There is no mention of the remote starter or any instructions on how to make it operate. After some hit and miss testing, I found out that you need to make sure the battery is connected, the key turned to on, the remote switch turned on, and to press the remote starter twice (quickly) to use the remote start function. The remote shutoff function works fine. Once I got it started (initial start was challenging, many, many fuel bulb pumps) the generator ran as expected, and was very economical in the auto idle mode. It ran all the equipment I plan to use with it, and was reasonably quiet. I have had multiple generators, ranging from 1000 watt to 6000 watts, and would say that this one is probably the best all-around machine so far, except for the poor documentation. A reasonable person can struggle through the lack of documentation, but the product would be much better if an effort was made to correct the listed deficiencies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hard starting addressed I have owned a Lifan 2600is for about a year and always found it extremelyy hard to start. The US rep suggested installing a hotter spark plug, but that didn't help. The only solution I have found is to drain the float bowl of the carberator, if the generator is going to set or has sat for more than a few days. Fortunately, they provide a plug for this purpose. After refilling the bowl by pressing the primer bulb a few times, it starts right up. Starting has been my only complaint, as the size, weight, and cost are perfect for my RV and backup applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generator works great Bought the generator for camping trips. Was relatively easy to set up and get running. Used on one trip, worked just fine. Runs fairly quietly under part load but quite noisy under full load. Liked the electric start, wheels and pull bar. Only real complaint is that they sent the wrong manual with it. Had to get information on line.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unhappy with this unit before I even use it The unit was delivered yesterday (July 9, 2012). Upon removing the unit from the shipping box and packing, it was discovered that the screws that hold the handle closed are not tight so there is a gap. The manual mentions setting the choke lever, however we do not have one. There is also no guidance on how the remote start is used. The oil recommended is 10w30 and says you can use others and see the list but there is no list. At this point, I would not recommend the unit. I will update if Lifan performs acceptably when called. No call should be needed in my opinion. Should be able to receive unit and use it after reading the manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my RV I unpacked the unit and read the manual. Filled the oil, gas and plugged in the battery. Tried the key starter....nothing. One pull of the handle and the generator started right up. I ran the unit for about an hour and tried the electric starter again and still nothing. So I pulled out the battery and charged it up completely. Tried the key again and away she went! The remote starter works really well too, the only bad part about that is that while the remote start switch on the generator is switched on the battery drains slowly. It will only last about 6 hours before it won't start with the battery again. I disagree with a previous poster's claim that this unit is noisy, it is very quiet, especially if I compare it to other generators at the park around me. It will idle down when power draw is low and speed up as load is applied to it. I bought this for use in my RV and it is able to run everything in it including the air conditioner. It has all the bells and whistles of the higher priced units without the premium price tag. I am truly impressed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good inexpensive generator, Bad battery After two seasons of light camper use the battery will no longer start the unit. There are no replacements readily available. All replacements found so far are too big to fit in the unit.
