Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by good intentions with no delivery for the first four days product worked well. on the fifth day it would no longer start even after countless pulls, new spark plug and oil change. was stranded on a primitive camping area with no power. the instruction manual is really a joke and the remote control with one of the two buttons working with no mention what so ever in the manual is simply a trial by error process. , the key has an off, on, and start, however the start does not work. the bottom line, i returned the product to home depot and replaced it with the ryobi inverter generator which has been working like a champ and is much quietier. Rated 4 out of 5 by Product meets expectations once you understand how to make it function. - Product does not have 12 volt output as described. - There is reference to an oil chart that did not exist in my documentation. - There is no mention of the remote starter or any instructions on how to make it operate. After some hit and miss testing, I found out that you need to make sure the battery is connected, the key turned to on, the remote switch turned on, and to press the remote starter twice (quickly) to use the remote start function. The remote shutoff function works fine. Once I got it started (initial start was challenging, many, many fuel bulb pumps) the generator ran as expected, and was very economical in the auto idle mode. It ran all the equipment I plan to use with it, and was reasonably quiet. I have had multiple generators, ranging from 1000 watt to 6000 watts, and would say that this one is probably the best all-around machine so far, except for the poor documentation. A reasonable person can struggle through the lack of documentation, but the product would be much better if an effort was made to correct the listed deficiencies. August 25, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by customer service I have a 2800 watt Energy Storm generator. You may have seen some of my reveiws on this unit. I finally got tired of pushing the primer scores of times to get it to start.I had emailed Lifan several times without an answer. So I called and got the Service Mgr(Dan). I explained my problem and he informed me that it most likely was the primer bulb that was the problem. As my unit was still under warranty he sent me one right out. I changed out the bulb and the unit started right up. Was I surprized!. Runs great. Lifan has a well run center.Everbody I talked to was well mannered and helpful. Thanks Dan for your advice and the primer. So parts are avalible along with good advice. My unit isn't remote start June 16, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hard starting addressed I have owned a Lifan 2600is for about a year and always found it extremelyy hard to start. The US rep suggested installing a hotter spark plug, but that didn't help. The only solution I have found is to drain the float bowl of the carberator, if the generator is going to set or has sat for more than a few days. Fortunately, they provide a plug for this purpose. After refilling the bowl by pressing the primer bulb a few times, it starts right up. Starting has been my only complaint, as the size, weight, and cost are perfect for my RV and backup applications. Rated 2 out of 5 by Horrible instructions I could not recommend this product until they can put Manuel together. The Manuel that came with my unit had the right picture on the front, but on the inside it was for the larger models. There website would not let me download the Manuel and customer service was supposed to email but have never seen it yet. If it was not for the reviews I would never known how to use some of the features. This could be a decent unit for the money but I hope it lasts, if it's built anything like the Manuel I might be in trouble. One of the most important things to do is to put oil in the machine but it does not tell you what kind or how much. August 18, 2013
