Review for ESI4000iER: We bought this generator for a 5000 mile RV trip to run our air conditioner. It preformed very well and ran the air-conditioner with on problem. It would not run the air-conditioner and microwave at the same time, but that was not an issue for us. I would recommend this generator.

Bought this generator for our RV so when we are at a campground that does not have power and it's 95 degrees we can still run the air conditioning. This generator started right up and powered the AC without a hesitation. I would highly recommend it. And it's every bit as quiet as more expensive models.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nicky2toes Great product, up there with Honda
We bought this to run our travel trailer. Everyone is talking about Honda's but when you look at the standard features (key fob remote start, electronic fuel injection, battery maintainer) on these units they flat out are more bang for the buck than the Honda's.

I have a hunting cabin that is off grid. Nothing beats waking up at 5:00 AM, sit up in bed, and hit the remote switch to start your day. No getting out in the cold wet morning. The coffee is brewing and I have hot water as needed. I am powering a small microwave, water pump, and coffee brewer along with a few lights all at the same time with no problems. She's a bit difficult to start at first, but runs great once it gets started. I like the energy saver button the runs much quieter when I am only using a small amount of power. The neighbor has a Honda 3000 that is a bit quiter, but it burns oil and has left us in the dark on occasion as it shut down due to low oil. I plan to build a container system next to the house to hard wire into the cabin since running the inverter on the deck has it too close to the windows. It will be hardly noticable once I get it a few feet from the cabin. So far, its been a great purchase.

Was a very good purchase.I bought this generator to run my camper air and it does it well, plus runs the micro wave at the same time..I love the price, beats the Honda and the Yamaha. This is the 2nd one..Three of my friends bought one each and they feel the same as I do about mine. The best feature for us is the remote start ..We are happy campers now and we all need the air as we are over 70 yrs of age.Now we go camping in warm weather also...Fishing fools. This year has been so good because of the Lifan 3600..Thanks Homedepot...P A from ohio

The description on Home Depot is not the product description on the product after I received it. The owners manual is generic and does not cover this model as it should. Your description said it was capable of being hooked up parallel and according to to their customer service department it is NOT. It rocks back and forth on its wheels on a level concrete floor. It is quite. During my try out. But haven't hooked a load to it yet or even ran it more than 15 minutes... I have had to call their customer service several times for information on this product.. I hope as I use it I like it more or it will go to an auction and I'll buy a different brand from a different source.... Not pleased at this time

After 4 hours of use the fan broke. Lifan's customer service was of no use. The bright spot is that Home Depot Customer Service was attentive to my request to replace.

Lets start with the bad because its mostly bad.
After un-packaging, filing the oil up, gassing it up, charging the battery.... No fire. Wouldn't even turn over. At this point i'm extremely aggravated because this thing is a beast and the store won't return it with fuel in it. I re-read the entire manual trying to determine why this pig wont start, i've done everything it says, still won't crank. I pull the cord until my arm falls off, wont start.
At this point i'm totally frustrated. Now i have to drain the fuel and lug this thing back to the store. So I just walked away for a few hours. Randomly, i decide to remove the side cover where the battery is, maybe this is a loose wire or something. Sure enough, the negative wire on the battery IS NOT CONNECTED. NOWHERE in the manual does it say CONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE BEFORE FIRST USE.
Problem solved right? NOPE. Now it cranks but it still won't start. My mood went from frustrated to furious. Again, walking away to vent a little before I pack this thing up to return to the store. I decided to just deal with it the next day. The following day I stroll out the the garage with intent on draining the fuel and taking it back to the nearest home depot. Then I decide to give it another try, crank.... crank.... crank... It cranked it until the battery died and my arm wore out. Never started but now, I smell fuel. Clearly the fuel system is working, so it must not be getting air or spark. Out of 100% morbid curiosity I removed the side cover again. Used the manual to locate the air filter and the spark plug. Pulled the air filter first, no obstructions air filter isn't the problem. The as I reach for the spark plug it immediately becomes apparent what the problem could be. The spark plug wire isn't hooked to the spark plug, because of the design it looked like it was attached but when you pressed on it you could feel the spark plug want actually connected to it. I removed the wire and checked to make sure the spark was actually installed properly, reconnected the spark plug wire making sure it was actually connected to the spark plug. Bang, fired right up.
Negative battery cable not connected right out the box.
Spark plug wire not connected right out of the box.
The NOT SO BAD:
1. Heavier than I expected (again description is wrong)
2. Dimensions are wrong (again description is wrong). The dimensions are wrong enough where if you have exactly the amount of space in the specs it wont fit.
3. Noise level (not to bad at idle, not nearly as as quiet as i expected)
4. The auto start circuitry will kill the battery if the unit sits more than 6 or 7 hours without being started.
1. It runs smoothly and starts properly, now. See above.
2. This generator has a fair price for what it is. IT IS NOT A HONDA and if your expecting this to be like a Honda, but for less money, your going to be disappointed.
