THE GENERATOR WAS EASY TO SET UP (THE MANUAL IS A JOKE AND USELESS EXCEPT FOR LIFANS PHONE NUMBER) AND THE UNIT STARTED UP AFTER TWO PULLS. EVERYTHING LOOKED OKAY UNTIL I NOTICED GASOLINE LEAKING UNTO MY GARAGE FLOOR. THIS WAS CAUSED BY A PIN HOLE (MANUFACTURING DEFECT) IN THE CARBURATOR BOWL. AFTER WAITING OVER A MONTH FOR THIS UNIT I DECIDED IT WAS EASIER TO FIX THE CARBURATOR THAN RETURN THE UNIT. LIFAN WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND SENT ME THE NEEDED PARTS QUICKLY. AFTER REPAIR THE UNIT RAN FLAWLESSLY.

I am a contractor that works on residential and light commercial jobs. The idle control is very nice and it started with two pulls, even in the 15 degree weather we are having. I have only put about 10 hours on, but it hardly uses any fuel. One large note, it doesn't come with the battery.

The generator worked well had to filol the tank @ every 5 or 6 hours but it was able to run my entire house and well and barn

I run a mobile gameroom and clean power is key to me. Been running this unit for close to 6 mons and no problems to my expensive and fragile electronic equipment. Love the low noise also
Folks: the power you get from a portable generator can HURT your equipment if the generator is not creating "clean" power and cheaper generators not properly equipped can hurt your sensitive equipment as I have learned the hard way. Make sure the generator or you choose can produce clean power to avoid burning up your stuff, especially if is high end electronics...Digital Inverters are also good souces of clean power I now understand. fwiw

I work as a mobile DJ so having dependable and clean power is very important to me as I have a lot of expensive sound and lighting equipment at my shows. I did extensive reasearh before selecting this unit and chose it because of the Low hirmonic distortion rating, it was very high running voltage unit and had electric start. I love the idle feature which saves gas and the frame is very heavty duty which makes it feel solid. The noise is not too loud and has been running strong for months now.

Only used once when the power went out for a couple hours but the generator worked flawlessly.Started easily and ran great.My fridge and basement freezer were running along with several lights and my well pump kicked on (1hp 220 volt) and she grunted a little but kept up fine. The instructions or lack of are terrible but the minor assembly can be figured out.

I received my generator yesterday. It came boxed up and strapped down on a pallet with no physical damage. The shipping company Estes did a nice job and the delivery was great. I removed it from the box, be careful, there are wrapped pieces within the frame space that needs to be pulled out. The manual was disappointing, as it lacked some installation instructions, and other finer points about the machine I would have liked to see. EX: VFT meter, what do the different values mean. It appeared to be an older manual, not an updated one. Upon visual inspection, the wheel axle was difficult to remove from its place as it was jammed in under a plastic box, and removing it meant leaving a small indentation in the box. The only visible damage, which I didn't notice until I started it was the two GFI plugs were cracked. In regards to the oil drain plugs, there are two. The one in the rear, because of how the engine is mounted I would not be able to use as it is behind a support brace. The plug in the front was overtighted, and I broke a socket trying to losing it up. The choke, a red switch, is hard for me to determine which is on or off. After adding oil and gas it started after a couple of pulls, I guess I had the choke in the wrong position. It does start, and the auto idle did work. So far I have not tried much with it. With the issues I had with the instructions for the wheel axle and legs, and the plugs, I had called Lifan Power USA a few times with questions. They were EXTREMELY helpful ! The best customer service I have had in quite a while. They answered questions write away and the first time, faxed me some info, agreed to send me the gfi plugs out right away, or have me go to a service center to have it fixed. The service centers were to far away so I elected to have them sent me, so I can replace them. So far I am happy, except for broken plugs, but Lifan Power USA is making everything right. As I further test the unit, I'll update. I still need to obtain a battery for it, and try starting it with that. So far my ratings are GOOD, based on above.

I bought this generator as a backup power supply for emergencies. I kept it stored indoors and added fuel stabilizer to it and ran it once a month. Just after the warranty ran out it quit running properly and the VFT meter went out. LIFAN gave me the name of the closest repair shop. It took them 40 days to repair it and when I got it home, the VFT meter still doesn't work after they replaced it. Also, a comic book would have been more helpful than the owners manual! Save yourself some trouble.
