No, but LA Crosse may have an adapter, my model uses a proprietary power supply for 120VAC.

Can you charge 600mah rechargeable batteries with this device since it says 200mah default? Can it charge higher than that?
Asked by: Steph
The person who wrote the Product Overview appears not to know the difference between mA (a measure of electric current, indicating the rate of charging) and mAh ( a measure of quantity of charge, used to express the capacity of a battery). La Crosse Expert correctly states that the options for rate of charging are 200 mA, 500 mA and 700 mA with this device. The other part of the answer is that you can use any of these rates on a battery with 600 mAh capacity, although the slow rate (200 mA) is usually recommended for preserving the battery better than the faster rates.

My factory supplied chargers from Energizer which came with batteries worked well I thought for about a year then my batteries seemed to not fully charge. I decided I was going to trash them when a friend loaned me his LA Crosse BA-700 smart charger. My old batteries were not bad even though my 2 Energizer chargers wouldn't charge them, they just blinked red when I inserted the batteries. The BA-700 was able to discharge and refresh the old batteries, they aren't like new but at about 95% which is about as close to new as you can get. I did have 2 batteries out of 40 that didn't really charge up to well, they are about 75%, good enough for a Maggie pen light. IF you have rechargeable batteries or are thinking about getting some, buy just the batteries, not the factory charger and order or buy a LA Crosse BA-700.

I have had this for 2 weeks now and it is by far the best battery charger of its kind I have ever owned. My sole reservation is that the "current," "display" and "mode" buttons feel like they should be handled with a little care but they are certainly usable. Compare that to the cost of the batteries I have thrown out because my old charger indicated they were dead and I'll take the delicate buttons any day. The instruction book could be better but there is enough information about charging NiMh batteries available on the internet to make the instructions moot. All in all, a good charger at a good price.

I destroyed the first one by mistakenly inserting the wrong power cord, one that led to one of those little nameless and brandless transformer plugs that had a higher voltage. This time I did something that I would recommend that everyone do. I glued the included transformer's output plug into the unit using silicon caulk. It will be easy enough to break the bond and remove the plug if I ever have to replace the transformer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bu sloooow I use rechargeable batteries for my photo equip so knowing when one is near the end of its life is critical. This does a good job of determing dead ones, refreshing old batteries and testing them but it takes days for the last two! I have enough batteries that I can take the time but that is why it only got 4 stars.
