I really enjoy being able to fill this humidifier from the top. I've had some of the ones that you have to move the tanks to the water source and they nearly killed me! This is the second one of this kind that I have had. I accidentally poured water on the motor part and it quit working. It was three years old and was working well. I just had to have another one. Have been using humidifier bacteria treatment in it. My son has allergies and he thinks it has helped him. We run a wood stove and the air is really dry. It seems to do a great job of putting moisture into the house. I would recommend for filling ease and efficiency as well as price.

I had the 9 gallon unit, which I liked a lot, but was a big size for my studio apartment. This unit has a lot going for it. It's fan-quiet and elegant. It was easy to set up. The major problem I have is its lack of essential controls. There is no internal hydrometer so one cannot set the amount of humidity desired and have it shut off once it achieves it. It runs low, medium, or high effectively, but it does not shut off on its own. The 9 gallon does have a variable humidity dial and shuts off. It's too bad because I really like the aesthetic - the build is solid with a compact footprint, a great value, and it's an American company I have much respect for. Ah well. I need consistent and controlled humidity for instruments, so I will be returning it. Sigh.

I picked up this in expensive unit for my apt (1100 SF) just to get an idea if a humidifier would help at all with my dry cough. While it is a little undersized for my apt, should probably be used in 800 SF or less, it did still manage to do the trick. It boosted the humidity by 10%. No it does not have a Humistat or automatic shutoff. I recommend getting a digital Humidity sensor and using that to monitor your humidity and adjust the unit between the various speeds. I like the La Crosse Solar Powered Temperature station myself.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PhillyBon Finally - a great humidifier!
We've been through tons of humidifiers - and finally found one we really like! It adds noticeable humidity to the air, is very quiet (it's like getting a "white noise" machine as a bonus!) and is easy to fill. I really like the spray effect and don't mind the looks of the machine (some say it looks like a urinal - but it works, so who cares!) For a unit of such advanced design, it's very well-priced. I plan on purchasing another. Suggestion for the future: it should shut off automatically when out of water.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Qberry product lived up to advertisement. Instructions minimal.
After some struggle got all assembled and water filled 3/4 way. Ran all night soaking bathroom floor. mats, etc. Found leak at front below fill door center; at rim where the two pieces fit (?) together. Second try better but still leaked. Filled to lower level helped. Room humidity raised only 2%, from 42 to 44. Went on a 15 day trip; now back and will try after using vaseline to seal joint. A small 2" piece of plastic U shaped was found inside door but no instructions where to put it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WorkBoots Lasko 3-Gallon Recirculating Humidifier
Very easy to fill, and I love that I'm not having to fill it up every 24 hours unless it's been extra-dry that day. I also like that I don't have to clean it nearly as often as other humidifiers I've owned. The water constantly circulating seems to help keep it fresh and there's not nearly as much buildup. And the output is good for a dry place. My old humidifiers couldn't keep up, but this one is doing well. Easy to care for, easy to fill, easy to maintain. Works great for me!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Humidifier Lasko 3 Gallon Recirculating Humidifier purchase
I bought the Lasko 3 gallon Recirculating Humidifier because it was recommended to me as a humidifier that had a hygrometer built in to it that would automatically shut off once the room reached a specific humidity percentile, for example 50% humidity. However, when I saw the unit, it became clear to me that there wasn't an automatic humidity level shutoff built into the product--it just had knob that could be turned to low, med., or high.
Even though the unit was fairly easy to install, it didn't work well and the fan was very loud as it spun. Also, after about 5 minutes of use, the hose that connected the water well to the fan separated from the connecting stem (inside the unit) and water began spraying all over the room and onto the floor below it. It was a disaster! I returned the product the next day.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JLO3904 Nice moisture, but definitely leaks!!!
First night out of the box, 4am I hear a little too much water noise and check the humidifier (which due to all the reviews I had in a tub) and there was water everywhere. Moisture was cool & great, not real sure why it leaked but trying it out again before I return since it does put out nice moisture. The water noise is a bit much, will take some getting used too.
