Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Works well but disappointed that it is not actually ceramic . misleading for sure. Would have given it five stars but it was not true to the description.

I use it in my shop office and it works exceptionally well. I blow it out with air once or twice a year and it continues to work quietly. I made a copper wire carry handle for mine because I like to move it easily, the shape of this unit is attractive but awkward to handle when moving around. It has a wide range of temp settings and multiple auto time-off settings for night use. It is a durable little unit. I don't know how many times I have knocked this one around over the years. Have had this unit about six weeks and its gone through a tough test when temperatures outside went below 15 degrees F. Very attractive unit, will take the chill off the air, but is unable to heat 150 square foot bathroom as well as the oil radiator heater it replaced. The controls on top are easy to reach and operate. If manufacturers stated the amount of cubic feet their products can service, consumers would have a more accurate idea if products will work for them. Plan to use this heater in a smaller area where if can be more economically feasible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best space heater out there. Home depot offers this space heater at a good price, especially after seeing some unreasonable charges from other shops. The space heater was a recommendation from friends and we are beyond satisfied. After buying a different space heater from Target, we were doubtful this one will work, but it works perfectly. Within seconds it heats up fast. When rotating you get the room heated up even faster. The nice feature of setting a timer makes up for not having a remote. I recommend this heater. It is worth every penny.

After much research to purchase a top-quality product, Lasko heaters always win first place. I had this same model years ago, and again it performs as it promises. It automatically turns off as you set it, depending on time or thermometer settings. The buttons are easy to read and use. As the delivery man said when he delivered it, "that is a great-looking heater, well-designed!" He is right, and this Lasko heater earns 5 stars.

I live in a mobile home park in Southern California, and recently they shut off the gas to the entire street to put in a new unit several spaces away, and when they turned it back on, the increased flow of gas and accumulated debris in the line overwhelmed the pilot light mechanism in my 47-year old gas furnace and it wouldn't stay lit. I needed a portable heater to see me through the harsh Southern California winters (i.e. below 65 degrees), until I could get the furnace repaired. So I rolled up the many sleeves of all the sweatshirts, sweaters, and bathrobe I was wearing (I felt like Ralphie in his overstuffed snowsuit in Christmas Story -- remember that scene?) got on the internet to my go-to site for that sort of thing: Home Depot. I went to Heating, then Space Heaters and was amazed at the variety of heaters offered. I started scrolling through, looking for one that would suit my needs -- if you've ever lived in a mobile home, you know that space is a primary consideration. Most were either too tall or too wide for the places I could put a heater, even a small one. I considered ones that would plug directly into a wall plug, but they would cover the entire socket, meaning I would have to reroute other appliances to other sockets, more extension cords. And most of the outlets are behind furniture, would not send the heat out into the room. I really don't need to heat up the back of the couch. And most all of them were...well, not ugly, but...Utilitarian. Until I came to the Lasko Ceramic Portable Heater. It had a completely different look than all the others. It reminded me of the ancient Greek vase/casks that I'd seen in museums, and couldn't think what they were called. So back to the internet, "name of those vases that have round bottoms and need a stand" or some such. "Amphora." I'd wondered about them -- why didn't the Greeks just make them with flat bottoms so you could set them down anywhere? Well, they're for storing wine, and the pointy-round bottom is to collect the sediment that settles, so the rest of wine remains clear. Very clever. I guess if you're into wine enough that you worship Dionysus, you think of these things. Home Depot didn't keep it in stock at the store where I could take a look at it, but that was okay. I really didn't want to get out of my cozy sweats&bathrobe ensemble, and brave the chilly California winter, all blue-skies-and-sunshine like a mocking joke. At the reasonable price of $49.99, I could order it online, they'd bring it to me, and I could try it out in my actual space, and if it didn't work out I could return it to the store which is only a few blocks away, no shipping hassle. Two days later it arrived, and it's as graceful as its picture. A good size (stand 10" across, height 16"), lightweight, but very sturdy. It has two master settings HI and Lo, (and a thermostat option and a timer, if you choose.) It also has an oscillating feature so you can sweep the room with heat, or stop it in place and keep the heat on just you (until the cats show up and let you know you really should share.). Best of all, the exterior is always cool to the touch, with the exception of the mesh screen over the heating source. The screen does get hot enough to be uncomfortable, but will not scorch, and if you turn it off for a minute the screen cools off. if for some reason it tips over, (not very likely, it's sturdy and stable), or gets knocked off an end table and winds up on the carpet, or a flammable curtain wafts over the mesh screen, nothing is going to go up in flames. It doesn't have glowing coils (at least none that I can see) which could melt or ignite flammable objects. At first I was worried that the 1500 watts would be enough to trip the fragile, hinky circuit breakers in this older model mobile home, but I have it plugged into a 6-tap wall outlet along with my computer, a lamp, and a couple other small appliances and so far no problems. And if it should overheat internally, it has an automatic safety shutoff, and can be reset after a ten minute cool down period All in all, I am very pleased with it; it's a perfect room heater for my needs. If you need to heat a much larger space, you might need to get a larger, more powerful (and expensive) unit, but you might still want one of these for an attractive portable adjunct for dead spots, or smaller spaces like the bathroom, or a spare room that you only use occasionally and do not want to heat all the time, like a guest room I recommend. Five stars.

I'm in California but some nights can get chilly. I do not like sleeping with central heating on. This heater does the trick for smaller areas and works very well. Love all the features it has and it is good looking so I can leave it out in any room. The timer makes it so I don't worry that I have left it on. Perfect. I'm happy.
