I want to use this fan in my garage, but I don't have electricity running to it. Can it be plugged in to an extension cord, like one of the big orange ones?

Answer:
Yes, it can be plugged into a good, heavy duty extension cord. Just remember the longer the extension cord, the harder the draw on the electrical breaker.

Answer:
Yes, from wall to fan cord, of the same gauge, and if greater distances, such as 100', at least 12 gauge if you're using cascade accessories off the included duplex outlet on the fan's side panel.

Answer:
You can use a properly sized extension cord with most any appliance. Your home wiring is all 12 gauge and if you were to use a 10 gauge extension cord, even a heavy duty appliance can be used with a long extension cord. This fan would work well on a 50 foot 14 gauge cord, but if you plan to plug anything into it's outlets I would recommend you use a 12 gauge cord

Answer:
I do and it works just fine. I have two: one is plugged into a power strip and the other is plugged into an extension cord. I use the fan's side outlets for anything else I might need to power up for short amounts of time (portable DVD player, etc.)

Answer:
The Pro model cord has a 3-prong plug for electrical grounding purposes, so it would require a heavier duty extension cord that accepts the grounding plug.

Answer:
This fan is surprisingly quiet considering the amount of air it moves. It does not disturb the phone or TV when set on low (or possibly the other speeds) and it is more quiet than my vacuum cleaner when set on any speed.

Answer:
Not even. Much quieter than my former 20" box fan on its lowest setting. We use this fan on the patio to keep bugs away and still talk. Not as quiet as a ceiling fan to be sure, but the fan moves a load of air. You'll be happy with this fan.

Shelly, I don't find this fan to be exceptionally loud, like a vaccum cleaner. It pretty much sounds like a regular floor fan.

I have this model, along with two of the smaller versions. The Pro puts out more air and is actually slightly quieter. I LOVE it. I use it at night on low to supplement the a/c, and keep the air moving around me, plus I need white noise to sleep. At about 8 feet away, it would be too much air at speeds 2 and 3. If you were watching tv, you might have to raise the volume one bump, but not much. These are Read More

It has an accessory duplex grounded outlet on the side panel marked 10AMP Max. That would equate to 1500 WATTS. The cord is a heavy cord, 12 gauge.

The person responding with 8-10 amps has no idea what they're talking about. I measured this fan with a Kill-A-Watt meter and it uses 87 watts on high, 76 on medium, and 64 on low. So you're looking at no more than 1.38 amps at the highest setting.

Jerry, I've had my Pro for over 2 years, and when I bought it, that info was ready available--now I can't find it anywhere, and have forgotten the cfm. On low, it is even quieter than the smaller Lasko model--I have 2 of those also-- even though it's blowing much more air. If my husband works on the car in the driveway, I'll Read More

If my husband works on the car in the driveway, I'll run an extension cord under the garage door and set it in the driveway to keep him comfortable while he works (we're in Florida). I use this fan everywhere, inside & out, at the elliptical, etc. and it's great. I even sleep with it on low, it keeps the air moving in the room and I sleep better. If I find any other info, I'll post it. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lasko Fan Powerful fan. Nice low ground level profile. Have run it for 24 hours without issue. Electrical outlets on outside of fan body appear convenient, but haven't tested them yet. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MONEY WELL SPENT This fan made such an impression at my 4th of July party, I went and picked up another for the house. My neighbors went and bought one also. It is awesome. It honestly is the best purchase I have made in years!! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing! Bought this during a heatwave when Home Depot and every other store were out of window AC units - and this bad boy saved the day! It blows out COOL air (no idea how) and it's SO POWERFUL. Best $80 iv'e ever spent. May get another one. I'm always hot and when i use the lowest power setting on this thing, it's more than enough - and the 'high' setting is like a jet engine! and i love it! This saved the day - so i HAD to write a review about how amazing it is (and i rarely write reviews) June 28, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan Amazing little fan living in florida can get hot when working outside on the car or even doing simple house hold activities, IE. Mopping the floor or even vacuuming, when I use this I stay cool and it will even make your floor dry a lot faster. Great Buy for a good Price. July 2, 2016
