Sometimes ionizers give the air a distinct odor we don't like. Can this function be disabled? Or better yet, does the ionizer give the air a distinct odor?

Yes the fan can be totally manual. In fact that is the way I use it. The on-line description does not make this clear. I had the same concern.

YES. It is great. You can turn the timer on and set it to different hours of operation - ie. 1 Hr - 2Hr. - 4Hr. etc. The remote control also allows you to use this feature.
If you want continuous operation. Just Do Not turn on the timer.

Fan was no longer in my store. Store was decreasing their summer inventory getting ready for fall and winter items. Had to order on-line. Had it shipped to store at no charge. It did take about 2 weeks to arrive. A little longer than desirable, for me.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 348 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan I originally purchased a pedestal fan, but it was way too loud even on the lowest setting. This fan is not as loud even on the highest setting as the pedestal fan was on its lowest. This fan was also less expensive that at another merchant. It works great. It stays on all night and is not too loud. It provides just enough noise. We do not have AC in our home, so this is a huge help. It oscillates and has a remote. I would buy another one if I needed another one and would recommend it. I also had free shipping with two day home delivery, which sealed the deal for me. The dog loves it. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, looks great and very quiet. Thumbs up. Easy to assemble and works really well. Thankfully, it is also very quiet. I would buy another one. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FANtastic I love this tower fan! It looks good in our oak colored furnitures. It's elegant and clean looking. I would buy this again! August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet and effective I already owned two of these and purchased two more. They are terrific and the remote is extremely handy. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ocillating Wind Curve Fan The fan moves a lot of air and is quite. The remote is a nice feature since you can stay in your easy chair and turn the fan up or down as well as turning the oscillating function on or off. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wind Curve 42 in. Oscillating Tower Fan with Fresh Air Ionizer This was to replace a Lasko fan that was 20 years old works as good as the old one Thank you August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly efficient Take from carton, easy assembly turn on and with in minutes feel the cool down August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan We use this fan in conjunction with our window air conditioner in the bedroom. Its perfect. Small footprint. Quiet. Made a huge difference in our sleeping as the air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard and so its quieter. Very glad we purchased it. We do not use the ionizer. August 16, 2016
