Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disapointing Performance as crack filler This material may be suitable to seal hairline cracks but it shrinks to paint thickness upon curing! I filled 1/4" deep by 3/8" wide cracks in my asphalt driveway making sure to get 100% fill. One week later the cracks were 3/16" deep by 3/8" wide but shiny black. It may be a crack sealer but it sure isn't a crack filler. August 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Part of the plan I had never done this before. I read the reviews for other products on the HD website. I didn't want to use the hot products. So I got the bucket of this product to fill the big cracks with a towel. When it dried it showed some small cracks from shrinkage. (Costanza!) I used this product with a caulk gun to fill those cracks, as well as the smaller ones in the driveway. I was really happy that I got both versions. , October 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product With concerns from others that have reviewed this product, I was cautious with my purchase and did a small test crack on my asphalt driveway. Like other positive reviews, the material comes out with a hint of brown color (you can see this color if you flip the tube upside down in the store). But as previously indicated, as it dries, it turns black. Drying time was as indicated, about 2 hours for the topical surface, and about 24 hours for it to dry completely. In purchasing more, I had larger cracks (slightly pushing the half inch recommendation), and also deep (1 inch down). While this required lots of material, it worked well. Also, the larger cracks were met with rain shortly 3 hours after application. (I live in the mountains and the weather is RANDOM). Fortunately, the minimal drying time was enough to keep it from going bad. After a couple weeks, the cracks are perfectly sealed and look professional (for a crack that is). I recommend a plastic flat tool to manipulate the obviously sticky material. This allowed me ensure it was packed down in the crack and tidy up the surface area for a flat finish. I did notice that upon drying it did retract a tiny bit, which I found beneficial since I have to snow blow and don't want to risk catching an edge and reopening the crack). Also applied within the recommended temperature range, but at the bottom end (around 50 degrees). June 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for filling gaps and dips, not just cracks. My big complaint about caulking is usually a cheap gun. Get a better gun. I used the filler for more than cracks. I used it to correct and level the driveway where it meets the street. I also used it to fill in the groove between the driveway and the pad. Use a trowel to sculpt or flatten the strip of filler into the shape you need. Use paint tape to strike a line on street to stop the filler, later the sealer, in a straight line. Also use the tape to protect the edge between the garage and pad. Use a trowel to level crack filler you put in a crack. There is not a lot in the tube, so buy some extra tubes--you can always return them. If you are new to caulking guns, ask the salesperson to show you how to draw back the pushrod. Also, be sure after you cut the end off the spout to puncture the seal in the tube with either the needle on the caulking gun, or with a long nail or piece of clothes hanger. The filler will flow out so be careful it does not spurt or drip. You can clean off tools, hands, etc. with BBQ lighter fluid. Water will not clean it up. September 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Old Driveway crack filler I have used this crack filler before and was happy with it. Now i bought a tube where the caulking comes out in pellets, I had use my finger to push it into the crack. Why don't the have an expiration or manufacturing date on the tube??? I will return the tube today. July 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very competent asphalt crack filler This product filled cracks up to 1/2" in my asphalt driveway with no difficulty. At first I was concerned because it is a chocolate color when first applied, but turns black when dry. Of course, cracks are notoriously difficult to keep sealed, but this sealer seems to have the necessary elasticity when dry to keep them sealed for awhile. April 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Applied easily. Filled deep cracks with sand then applied patch compound. First time I used this type of patch and I like it. We'll see how it holds up throughout the year. May 28, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Filled the small cracks nicely. We'll see how it holds up during the winter. Used at about 60' F. Flowed nicely. Filled some narrow, but deep cracks between asphalt driveway and concrete walkway. Wanted to avoid water getting in during winter and free/thaw cracking. November 1, 2011
