Product Overview

(Note: If product is not available to order in your area that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late Fall and early Spring applications). Acrylic Plus is a new rollable acrylic based formula designed to be extremely durable and flexible while maintaining its rich, black color. Acrylic Plus contains natural fillers to help fill hairline cracks and give you a non-skid finish. Designed for good condition driveways (Either unsealed or previously sealed). Do not use Acrylic Plus on poor condition, rough driveways or if driveway contains cracks. For porous driveways or blacktop that is not compacted well we recommend using one of our sealers that contains more filler properties: Airport Grade, Optimum or Ultra Shield. Helpful Hints before you seal your driveway: 1. Do the project all at one time without starting and stopping. 2. Check the weather and make sure no rain is forecast and it is at least 50 Degree at night (A cold driveway will not allow the sealer to cure properly).

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

  • Do not use a squeegee or brush with acrylic plus or you significantly risk cracking and/or peeling
  • Approximately 700 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft. coverage for good, smooth, or previously sealed blacktop
  • Approximately 600 sq. ft. to 700 sq. ft. coverage for moderate surfaces with minor/hairline cracking
  • Approximately 400 sq. ft. to 600 sq. ft. coverage for unsealed or graying blacktop (do not use on poor condition, very rough / porous blacktop - use a sealer with more filler properties)
  • Remember: clean your driveway thoroughly so sealer will bond and make sure you do not seal when it is cold outside, it must be at least 55 Degrees at night for sealer to properly cure and last
  • Do not seal in early spring or late fall as the sealer will not last - it will not cure properly and may track
  • Easy to apply with a roller, use 3/8 in. nap or 1/2 in. nap if never been sealed
  • New fortified formula is non-skid and fills hairline cracks
  • Fast dry formula - ready for foot traffic in 1 hour and car traffic in only 4 hours (allow more time if shaded)
  • Acrylic formula - built in primer for enhanced durability
  • No fade technology: stays deep, matte black
  • Low VOC formula, cleans up with soap and water
  • Assurance: we stand behind our warranty - it is not prorated

Is this Latex-ite 4-GAL. Acrylic Plus Driveway Revitalizer Filler/Sealer a perfect choice for sealing a two-year-old blacktop driveway that has never been sealed? If it isn't, then which product is a better choice? (Note that I'm looking for a long-lasting sealer that is impervious to oil and other type fluid leaking from parking cars.) Thank You.

Answer:
75 to 80 degrees, low humidity is an ideal application temperature. If hotter than this we recommend continuously misting the asphalt as applying to keep the asphalt temperature down. We also recommend getting an early start to you application, and apply when the asphalt is cooling.

Two questions (I have a 1 year old driveway). First: Pre-cleaner recommendations? Second: I am on a 15degree slope. Recommendations for traction.

Answer:
Preparation is key. Power wash with detergent works best. All of our products have sand for traction. The key is not to overseal as you will lose traction as the porosity of the asphalt is lost.

4 Gal. Acrylic Plus Driveway Revitalizer Filler/Sealer is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Took two coats In my experience the coverage stated is wildly optimistic. I have 2000 square feet and it took two coats and five containers to do the job properly. My driveway was previously sealed. I choose the product because of the 10 year durability guarantee (although who knows how I would collect on that) and ease of application with a roller. Check your driveway very closely. There are often irregularities (e.g., pebble-sized holes and hairline cracks) that are not easy to spot until they are highlighted with the first pass of the product. If I had it to do over I would use the Optimum 8 year. This product is best suited for a nearly prefect driveway, perhaps no more than a year old.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHAT HAPEND TO THIS PRODUCT? I DID USED THIS BEFORE AND IT WAS VERY GOOD. SATURDAY I BOUGHT FIVE PAILS AND WHEN I TRIED THE FIRST IT WAS JUST "BLACK WATER", YES I DID MIX WELL, NO SOLIDS UN MIXED. I RETURNED THE OTHER FOUR PAILS. SO, WHAT HAPEND TO YOUR PRODUCT?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less than one month and product of flaking off. I am very disappointed with this product. Contemplate removing this product if it fails before you buy it. Research how well the manufacture and seller stand behind the product and what is really guaranteed. I bought it because it stated to have ten year durability which was a strong selling point. Additionally the low odor was another plus. It was easy to apply. Less than a month later it is flaking off. The flaking is occurring under the tire tracks. The driveway was properly prepared per the instructions and the weather was good. I have never had any problems before when using Black Jack driveway sealer from Lowe’s. The loss of the cost of the product is nothing compared the headache it is going to be to try to remove this mess. I should have researched it online prior to using it. Please learn from my experience and stay away from this product. You will be glad you did. My preparation and application: I power washed the driveway first with just water. The next day I used a stiff bristle broom and scrubbed with degreaser. Then I thoroughly power washed the driveway. I allowed the driveway to dry for two days of 80 degree plus weather. Prior to application of the product I used a blower to make the driveway was free of any debris or dust. I made sure it was thoroughly mixed. Using a 1/2 in. nap roller I applied two coats because the product is very thin. I waited 48 hours before parking vehicles on it. At first it looked very good but now three weeks later is if flaking off. Caveat Emptor

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product. Easy to apply. The sealer was easy to apply. The driveway looked perfect with no blemishes after I applied the sealer (two coats). The only reason I can not give this product 5 stars is because I followed the directions and applied the sealer in sunny 70 degree weather. It rained 48 hours later. When I drove on it after 48 hours my car left tire marks in the driveway. I had to use a paint brush to repaint over the tire tracks. Looks better but noticeable color line marks. Also I followed the advise of the reviews saying that you need more sealer than manufacturer suggest. I used exactly what the instructions recommended. I had to return several containers. I had no problem retuning sealer. Home Depot has a great return policy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not do the job Date: 5/15/2015 10:00AM-2:00PM, Sunday Location: Harford County, MD Weather: Upper 50's and low 60's. Sunny on windy side Driveway: Two years old brand new driveway, never sealed. Hose-washed twice Experience: Painted driveway 4-5 times on previous house using concrete sealer After stirring well, applied the product like paint using a roller. First coding up and down on four feet strip and second coding on same strip left and right. I finished the 3 buckets in 3-4 hours on approx. 800 sq. feet driveway. The product does not self-leveling so it left multiple strokes on the surface but looked ok from twenty feet away. Monday was similar good weather day. I let it dry without any foot traffic. And Tuesday 10AM stated raining and on and off until evening. I let the cars roll in at 7PM. The result was very disappointing. The sealer barely can hold on small car and it’s a disaster for the SUV. It left clear track print on my garage. It simple does not work as it advertised. It's the most expensive product on the home depot rack and brand itself with quick dry formula (4 hours ready for car traffic). I sealed my old driveway multiple times and never have any problems. The product is a low quality product and leaves a mass in the garage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely pour this on and spread it with a roller instead of trying to use a large roller pan. ... Definitely pour this on and spread it with a roller instead of trying to use a large roller pan. The directions say to do that and they're right. It did a good job filling the hairline cracks. Also, I've been driving over it with studded snow tires and it seems to be holding up well. Overall, I would have preferred to put on two coats, but it got cold early this year and I ran out of time. One coat seems to be OK, but two would probably be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product Met Expectations The product worked exactly as advertised. I put on 2 coats on a driveway that was about 1 year old. It was easy to apply, had good coverage, and dried nicely. I got almost 600 square feet per pail, using the roller method as directed. Based upon some of the reviews, I bought much more, but Home Depot had no problems with the return. The driveway looks brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thrilled with this product My driveway is about 1300 sq ft. I used the less expensive "Airport grade" version of this product 3 years ago. I used 3.5 buckets at the time, and my driveway was very streaky. Was not too happy with the results. This time I decided to try this more expensive product, the Acrylic plus, and all i can say is wow. Easier to mix, easier to apply, used WAY less (2 buckets), and there are virtually no streaks. The only warning I have for anyone considering this product is don't expect it to fill in cracks, even hairline, as advertised, because it won't. Then again neither will the airport grade. Get your own separate sealer for your cracks. See pictures. Very happy.
