Product Overview

(Note: If product is not available to order in your area that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late Fall and early Spring applications). Acrylic Plus is a new rollable acrylic based formula designed to be extremely durable and flexible while maintaining its rich, black color. Acrylic Plus contains natural fillers to help fill hairline cracks and give you a non-skid finish. Designed for good condition driveways (Either unsealed or previously sealed). Do not use Acrylic Plus on poor condition, rough driveways or if driveway contains cracks. For porous driveways or blacktop that is not compacted well we recommend using one of our sealers that contains more filler properties: Airport Grade, Optimum or Ultra Shield. Helpful Hints before you seal your driveway: 1. Do the project all at one time without starting and stopping. 2. Check the weather and make sure no rain is forecast and it is at least 50 Degree at night (A cold driveway will not allow the sealer to cure properly).

California residents: see  Proposition 65 information

  • Do not use a squeegee or brush with acrylic plus or you significantly risk cracking and/or peeling
  • Approximately 700 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft. coverage for good, smooth, or previously sealed blacktop
  • Approximately 600 sq. ft. to 700 sq. ft. coverage for moderate surfaces with minor/hairline cracking
  • Approximately 400 sq. ft. to 600 sq. ft. coverage for unsealed or graying blacktop (do not use on poor condition, very rough / porous blacktop - use a sealer with more filler properties)
  • Remember: clean your driveway thoroughly so sealer will bond and make sure you do not seal when it is cold outside, it must be at least 55 Degrees at night for sealer to properly cure and last
  • Do not seal in early spring or late fall as the sealer will not last - it will not cure properly and may track
  • Easy to apply with a roller, use 3/8 in. nap or 1/2 in. nap if never been sealed
  • New fortified formula is non-skid and fills hairline cracks
  • Fast dry formula - ready for foot traffic in 1 hour and car traffic in only 4 hours (allow more time if shaded)
  • Acrylic formula - built in primer for enhanced durability
  • No fade technology: stays deep, matte black
  • Low VOC formula, cleans up with soap and water
  • Assurance: we stand behind our warranty - it is not prorated

Answer:
Preparation is key. Power wash with detergent works best. All of our products have sand for traction. The key is not to overseal as you will lose traction as the porosity of the asphalt is lost.

Is this Latex-ite 4-GAL. Acrylic Plus Driveway Revitalizer Filler/Sealer a perfect choice for sealing a two-year-old blacktop driveway that has never been sealed? If it isn't, then which product is a better choice? (Note that I'm looking for a long-lasting sealer that is impervious to oil and other type fluid leaking from parking cars.) Thank You.

Answer:
Acrylic Plus is made of 100% Acrylic with no asphalt. Acrylic Plus is the same price per square foot as conventional sealers because the coverage is so much greater. Acrylic plus is ideal for surfaces in good condition, asphalt that is only a few years old.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not do the job Date: 5/15/2015 10:00AM-2:00PM, Sunday Location: Harford County, MD Weather: Upper 50's and low 60's. Sunny on windy side Driveway: Two years old brand new driveway, never sealed. Hose-washed twice Experience: Painted driveway 4-5 times on previous house using concrete sealer After stirring well, applied the product like paint using a roller. First coding up and down on four feet strip and second coding on same strip left and right. I finished the 3 buckets in 3-4 hours on approx. 800 sq. feet driveway. The product does not self-leveling so it left multiple strokes on the surface but looked ok from twenty feet away. Monday was similar good weather day. I let it dry without any foot traffic. And Tuesday 10AM stated raining and on and off until evening. I let the cars roll in at 7PM. The result was very disappointing. The sealer barely can hold on small car and it’s a disaster for the SUV. It left clear track print on my garage. It simple does not work as it advertised. It's the most expensive product on the home depot rack and brand itself with quick dry formula (4 hours ready for car traffic). I sealed my old driveway multiple times and never have any problems. The product is a low quality product and leaves a mass in the garage. May 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tracked right away, sand comes off We followed the directions and monitored the weather for a week before doing the job. Followed everything exactly, since we wanted a good job done! Tracking began right away and we thought "uh-oh". Continued to have hope it would stop and not get worse, but it continued tracking and sand kept coming off. It was a big job to do, and it is most disappointing to see that it did not hold well. It is now months later, but I still am writing this review and hoping that we can re-coup our money. July 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Looks good and seems to be durable. Will use again. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never again Horrible product. Applied exactly as stated on directions and product did not fill the minor cracks on my 3yr old driveway. Square footage that it is supposed to cover was way off and I had to purchase double the amount needed. Overlapping did not help because some spots were much lighter than the rest of the driveway. June 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Driveway Sealer Product was easy to work with. This was my first application on a new asphalt drive. The only thing that was an issue was that the sq. ft. coverage advertised was not even close. Maybe because it was a new drive it sucked up a lot of sealer. A note pertaining to this should be put on product info. sheet. Overall I give this product a high rating and would use again. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job very well. It was easy to apply but you need to mix very well, use paint mix drill thing. I poured it straight onto the driveway and then used a roller to spread it out. Temperature was in the 70's and it dries much quicker and uses more per square foot as it gets hotter in the day. It covers well and you have to go over the same area a few times to make sure you get everything. Use wide paint brush to paint edges if you have brick. BUY MUCH MORE THAN YOU THINK, you will need it, you can always return what you do not use. I calculated that I needed 8 but I used 14 until I was satisfied. October 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4-Gal. Acrylic Plus Driveway Revitalizer Filler/Sealer 4-GAL. ACRYLIC PLUS DRIVEWAY REVITALIZER FILLER/SEALER Very easy to mix , rolled on like paint I did find that it is easier to apply by dipping the roller into the bucket rather than pouring the product on the driveway. It was 80 degrees when applied could walk on it in 1hr. and drove on it in 3 hrs . Very smooth matte finish, roller and brushes cleaned up with soap and water. The Ohio winter will be the test if stays on I will be very satisfied. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great result requiring a fair amount of work. I prepped the driveway (2250 sq. ft.) with driveway cleaner and a pressure washer. Fixed the larger cracks with Trowel-patch which worked better than the Crack repair tube, both by Latex-ite. The prep work took about three hours. Being fairly obsessive-compulsive, I had my daughter brush the driveway edges with the Acrylic-plus while I rolled on the product with help from my son and wife. We needed to lay on a fair amount as my driveway had not been sealed in 15 years. This took about 6 man-hours. I did achieve about 450 sq.ft. per 4 gallon container. If it holds up for the advertised 10 years, I'll be very pleased. June 3, 2012
