20 in. Briggs & Stratton Electric Start Self-Propelled Gas Walk-Behind Mower is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat it My first Lawnboy has been replaced after 24 years of service with this 20 inch electro start model. With a $50 off on-line promotion {$279} you cant beat this deal. The only reason I can think of why Toro bought Lawnboy a few years ago .. is they can't compete with quality at the Lawnboy price. Their equivalent would be $399 and you get 2 inch wider cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lawnboy Model #10606 I ordered on a Thurs. and it was deld. to my home the next Tuesday. Someone from the store came to my home and assembled it, tested it, and then I used it. The electronic start is super and the maneuverability is great because it is so lightweight and the self-propelled feature makes it so easy to use. Highly recommend .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific mower for great price Pros: - Easy start and maintenance - Variable speed over ground by raise/lower control lever - Tool free wheel adjustment height - Free chute attachment eliminate bag/mulching, mailed coupon and received free in 2 weeks - very fuel effecient - Rear drive, easier on old back and legs - Strong engine cuts good and goes up hills Cons: - Narrow grass chute clogs easy with bag and discharge chute in deep or damp grass. - Instruction a little vague on adjustments - Wheel adjustment detents are shallow and allow height adjustment to slip down if not clear of grass or dirt. - Battery cover top does not secure tightly and vibrates off. - Bag catcher a little small and clogs easily. Overall, well constructed, easy to use mower. Electric start really not necessary, mine always starts easily on the first or second pull of the cord, but the price for the electric start feature is very resonable. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good value I looked at a lot of lawnmowers. My criteria: no Briggs and Stratton motor (I've only had bad luck with these); self-propelled; no big wheels in back (these eventually crack off from the extra leverage exerted when turning and they are costly to replace); decent reliability reviews from Consumer Reports; fair price. This mower filled my criteria and I have not been disappointed. The Kohler motor started with the very first pull. I was thinking I would get a Honda but they are a lot more money and the cheaper models have the big wheels in back. Also, the drive system on the Hondas is not as reliable as that of the LawnBoy (according to Consumer Reports). I'm very happy with my choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought one like this 5 years ago, and this one seems to be lighter and easier to push. I read the reviews about some coming with bent wheels and the motor oil spilling all over, but decided to buy it anyway. Of course, my mower comes with a bent wheel. It doesn't even lay flat! A blind person could tell it was bent. There can't be any quality control at that place. So loaded it up and took it back to to the local store and they were real good at getting me fixed up and re-ordering the mower. For my trouble, they even gave me a 10% discount. The new mower came without a bent wheel, but the oil had a small crease and was starting to leak. Also had to find the battery top and put the battery back together. They need to secure the battery so it doesn't keep banging around. I have only used the mower once, but it is easy to use and cuts well. If you feel like you can be one of the lucky ones, get the mower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lawn Boy the good and bad Good overall with one BIG exception. The self propelled rear drive wheels (the inner plastic gears that propel the wheels) wore out completely in 18 months. Even though it states 2 year warranty this does not include the wear items. They are only covered for 90 DAYS! I have had the wheels on order for 2 weeks (and they are TORO parts). Love the electric start.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I read the reviews and still bought it, should have listened! the Lawnboy self propel, key start mower needed some mechanical work right in the box. I had to straightened the rear height adjusters, they both were badly bent. Like I said "I read the reviews, should have listened." I mowed my back yard, a total of 15-20 mins and as I was just about to mulch some leaves, the left rear wheel fell off. Luckily I read the reviews and didn't panic or scream, I just looked for all the parts that fell off. Then I went to the HD web site and read the reviews again, just for some back up of sorts and in the process I copied the parts schematics and the parts list as well as the warranty. Well I don't know who designed this mower but I would think someone would have thought to put a lock nut on the bolt that holds the wheels on, but for some reason the bolt only goes far enough (say four threads) into the main assembly, no mechanical device to hold the bolt on other than the threads of the bolt. I've only had this mower for 2 days and one mow. So of I go to put the wheel back on, but first I'm gonna buy some Loctite at my local HD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 years and still performs like new! I pick up this lawn boy at home depot 3 years ago started right out of the box. I have only charged the battery once in the 3 years that I've owned this mower. It has always started at the first turn of the key. I couldn't be more then satisfied about this lawn boy!
