Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded expectations Purchased on sale and floor model at further discount so excellent value with no assembly required. Good range of cutting heights with easily adjusted front and back wheels. Oiled, fueled and started instantly. Impressive cutting performance on a slightly damp lawn. The bag opening is twice the size of my former mower so no plugging and clump dumps even in the thickest parts of the lawn or during turns. The variable propel lever was easy to use in controlling the pace and the mower climbs a slight uphill grade with no difficulty. June 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mulching Challenged After reading several positive reviews for the Lawn Boy Model 10634 mower I purchased it from the local HD store. On the positive side this mower started easily, ran smoothly and was fairly light to use. A lack of side discharge chute was a little unsettling however based on the positive comments on the mulching ability on this mower I believed it wasn't necessary. Cutting(mulching) the grass for the first time a trail of grass followed me much to my displeasure. I thought that perhaps the grass being a bit wet caused this. A second cut yielded the same results so I told myself I cut the grass too short. The 3rd and 4th cuts a few days apart yielded the same results as cut 1 and 2. Returned to HD and purchased a Honda. If you plan on bagging your grass clippings that this mower is for you, however if you like to mulch your grass clipping than this mower is not up to the task. July 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome timesaver what a machine. its well priced. i got my 70x110ft lawn cut in 25 min. the self propelled system works. it takes a little time to get use to it, but it really keeps you cutting the lawn quickly. its a snap to get started either electric start or pull start. its the envy in my neighborhood. and its lightweight. i choose the 20 inch as to 22" models which is much heavier especially when you turn around. its relatively quiet. i could not ask for a nicer mower. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by clogges and stalls too easy used this mower on one yard with dry slightly long 6'' grass and the mower stalled 5 times because it clogged up with grass even with the bag it clogges in less then 2 min and the side shoot takes 6-8 weeks to come in the mail if you want it and already one peace broke on the handle waste of my time its going back to the store first thing tomorrow July 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Satisfied I purchased this lawnmower in 2010, but it had the Briggs & Stratton engine. I wanted to wait a reasonable amount of time before leaving a review, as almost everything works perfectly on the first day. I am very pleased with this mower. The electric start works perfectly and boy does this machine go when in full throttle. I took a chance on it, and I'm glad I invested the extra money to buy a good mower. If it had a washout port, that would be a bonus! Maybe one day Lawnboy will add it, if they haven't already. May 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME I just bought this one yesterday and it took me 1 min to assemble. I did not use the electric start yet but the manual start so easy.. it started in first try and then i stopped it and started it again 4 times just to see if it works so good every time. And it started at the first pull all the time. I bought a Ariens mower 2 days before and it never started. Had to return it and buy this one. Lets see how it works in the future... June 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wish it had variable speed We just bought this and used it today for the first time. We have a large lot but use a lawn tractor for most of it We were using a basic gas mower for the areas not accessible with the lawn tractor. We are now in our 60's and decided that the key start and variable speed would make thing easier. Our reviews are different . . . Husbands review - love it!! It made cutting the ditch so easy. I probably could have cut the entire lawn because it was effortless. Wife's review - .I feel like I have to jog behind it. It controls me . . . I can't control it. It goes way too fast. Stopped using it after 1 minute because I was going to end up mowing my garden! Love the key start! The solution (hopefully). My Husband could easily adjust the speed with the control bar on the handle. My problem is that my hands are too small to keep the control bar in any position but the fastest position. My husband is working on coming up with something to put on the handle to increase the width of the control bar so I can hold it in the slow position. I'm not thrilled with it . ..I would have preferred something that is true variable speed. If he can come up with a solution that works, we will keep it. Otherwise we will buy the online one that has key start as well as variable speed. April 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive Mower!! This mower has exceeded my expectations and I am impressed with the quality of this product. It has a wholesome weight to it, but light enough for a small woman to handle with ease. The back chute area, the wheels, and the ventilated top cover are plastic - the rest is a sturdy metal. It arrived well packaged and was very easy to prepare for use. The included charger plug simply attaches to the wiring on the side of the handle, then plugged into an outlet. I charged it for 24 hours as instructed, then unhooked the charger. The assembly consisted of unfolding the handle and attaching with the screw-in knobs by hand, adding the provided oil, and filling with gasoline. (The oil cap was very tight at first and I had to twist hard, but then it worked great - it has to be turned 1/4 turn to the left then lifted up) It is nice to see a paper manual instead of the online type. The instructions are well written and informative. There is also a manual for the Briggs & Stratton engine (having had many Briggs engines in our equipment, we have yet to have any problems with them even after 25 years). After registering, I received a free rear side discharge chute which simply attached to the rear opening after lifting up the flap - it arrived in 3 days. The bag is easy to install and remove. Starting up the mower was a breeze, just a turn of the key - and no messy primer button! There is also a pull cord if ever needed to manually start the engine. It is not annoyingly loud when running. I like the ease of the self-propelled speed control (pull drive bar slightly to go slow, pull all the way toward handle for full speed). I've had mowers with speed levers, but they don't seem to last. I've tried many types of mowers in the past, but I had no problem at all going up and down the slopes or around the shrubs on our rural, hilly yard with this one. The blade is well sharpened and it cuts well. Having now tried my first Lawn-Boy product, I will certainly consider this brand again. March 8, 2013
