Answer:
There are many reasons the mower many not be starting. Below are some solutions for common starting issues.
• Fuel must be fresh (within 30 days)
• Air filter clean
• Spark plug in good condition (must not be heavily coated with carbon)
If the product still does not start, an authorized service dealer must perform a diagnostic analysis on the product.

If you mower was stored without fuel stabilizer during that time there is a good chance that fuel is no longer good. It is recommended that at the end of every season you empty out the old gas and start the next season with fresh gas. In addition, if you plan store your mower for more than 1 month it is a good idea to run you more out of gas to ensure that there is no old fuel left in the carburetor, which can lead to problems down the road.
If you have drained all of your old fuel and your mower still does not start with new fuel, please contact a servicing retailer.

Answer:
There are three sizes of plug in normal use, 10mm, 14mm and 18mm. (They are identified by their thread size) The socket sizes for these are 5/8" (16mm) 13/16" (21mm) and 15/16" (24mm). However, many 14mm plugs (the most common size) have 5/8 hexagons, and many 18mm plugs have 13/16 hexagons!

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LawnBoy I agree with the other neg. reviews. I bought this 2 years ago and have been disappointed from day 1. The self propel is a joke. The bag does not hold much. The outlet (where grass is led to the bag) clogs up with grass quite a bit. The cable that operates the Blade Stop just broke. I'm fixing it, selling it and returning to Honda! November 13, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dissappointment the blade stop was the real reason I bought this mower and for the 1st yr it worked great... then.... the drive belt broke. the repair shop said it was burned by a stick and they showed me. the lawnbow people were really nice and payed for the repair. well it happened again 6mos later same thing. the real issue is that you cant just turn it over and clean underneath to remove debre, you have to take off the blade and housing to get to belt. I've already had a tuteral on how to do it. seems llike a design flaw to me. my last mower lasted20 yrs till the motor blew and it wasn't a toro by trying to make things easier for myself, I just made it worse. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Little Mower I don't understand all the bad reviews...must be that those who like their machine don't have anything to complain about. Mine is used for detail areas of large yard that rider won't reach. It starts and runs great and does a good clean job. I use fresh gas with Seafoam additive, I sharpen the blade when it needs it, and I repace air filter each year. I understand that this is just a small homeowner mower and so I don't try to cut tall, wet grass. None of them do that well. I'd buy another in a minute because mine has served me well for three years now. April 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Returned after 1 (ONE) use This is a California ONLY mower. I live in Pennsylvania, but they sent me the mower anyhow. The mower was hard to start from the box. Then it was a "stop and go" through the entire acre. It would stop completely at about 2" of grass. Iput the correct gas and oil. The oil was smoking solid white and smelling a foul odor. I bought new oil for this lawnmower. Then after each stop, it was hard to start. I finished my lawn and returned it at the local store with no problems (good guys). I was not going to deal with "service" with a brand new mower. Hope this helps. October 20, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Only for a small yard I purchased this Lawn Boy from Home Depot in 2011, and I am already preparing to replace it in 2013. This mower is underpowered, and its bagging system requires changing after only two passes. If the bag is not changed, the grass clumps up in the ejector despite the bag being only half full. I used to own a top-of-the-line Toro (Recycler), and I questioned whether an expensive mower was necessary. This Lawn Boy has convinced me that, when it comes to mowers, you get what you pay for. On the positive side, those in a newer subdivision with a smaller yard might have some success with this mower. It simply will not handle a larger yard, nor would I recommend this on zoysia lawns--they are simply too thick for this cutting system. August 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrated Did a lot of research and was solid on the Lawnboy name, Now bought out by Toro but still a good solid name. Wanted the blade clutch as I usually bag and this model was perfect a good price and seeming a good product. The first one I bought wouldn't start after the 2nd use. Returned it and second one continued to start but the self propel feature stopped working. Took it back again and this time paid more and got the Honda. No it doesn't have the blade clutch I wanted but it is hopefully more reliable. I just felt I couldn't trust this machine in the long run. With 2 failures after 2 standard uses I would cringe everytime I want to use it in the future and not a feeling I want from a new mower. Too bad too I liked it, but they just aren't reliable anymore, shame. April 30, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible unit Used lawn mower 5 times loved it. Put gas in that had sat for 1week and it kept stopping as soon as I started it. Took it into be fixed. Was told I had Putin old gas and had to clean carburetor. $65.00. Had it fixed. Bought new gas from Chevron Super unleaded, new gas can after 3 uses. Same problem. Was told it's the carburetor again and that they are just too sensitive and clog easy. I'm a single mom who is now stuck with a $381.00 piece of junk! March 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad purchase stay away ! I agree with all the reviewers this mower is not good , invest in something with more power . Carb is way to finicky . Bought it last year , this year starts for a second then shuts off . My Old mover from the early 80's lasted up until 2012 . Also the grass catching bag is useless . 2 passes then it stops getting filled and clogs underneath even though the bag is only 1/3 full . Dont waste your money on this at all . May 15, 2014
