Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 190 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst grass collection design ever! Yes the lawn mower starts right up almost all the time. It says that right on the top for you to see. But I needed a mower that collects the grass this thing has the worst design in capturing the grass- after you mow about 6 feet of your lawn no matter the length or height adjustment the door to the bag gets clogged with clippings and the mower turns into a mulching GRASS PUKING MACHINE. Literally I spend more time picking up piles and cleaning the side walk/drive way than mowing. Wife hates to mow due to the mess- she use to mow all the time. My neighbors get a kick out of watching the event and take note not to buy this green mess of a mower. Tried every trick n advice from this manufacture - same result I am done with this after 1.5 years. Wasted my money! Going to buy a different brand this spring. I have some good picks of the aftermath mess this thing creates. April 27, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NOT RECOMENDED Wheel adjustment slips out of selected height location. Have to use another position ,which is either to low or to high . Does anybody know if the peg adjustment can be repaired ,some way.? Mower does not collect loose leaves but blows them to another location. The old Lawn Boys were light ,this dog is very heavy and hard to maneuver when you have a lot of trees to mow around. My father-in-aw would roll over In his grave if he had to work on this mower.(he repaired mowers) Gas cover is extremely hard to open and close .You have to have a strong hands to do it. . Very dis-appointed in this mower. July 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrating rear height adjustment This mower cuts pretty well, even when the grass is pretty long. Engine starts up easily every time. However, towards the end of the first season of mowing, I noticed that the rear height adjuster would keep slipping off of the pins and suddenly there would be a dip cut into the lawn. Ever since then I have to keep reaching down and push it into place every few minutes or so as I mow, or I have to settle for a different height than what I prefer. Very annoyed by this from a relatively well respected manufacturer. July 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good all around mower I wanted a solid push mower for small areas and trimming (I have a Toro rider for the large sections of the lawn). Had a Troy Built (Briggs and Stratton engine) that after 2 years had engine problems and while it was in the shop, I opted for this Lawn Boy. I like the tri-cut blade, does a stellar job mulching. Simple assembly and prep - had it running in ten minutes after pulling the box out of the car. We've had it a month now, no issues. It's not Lawn Boy I remember from my youth (mixing gas with oil and unique seafoam green color), obviously someone purchased the name, but it runs and cuts fine. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by a good buy for the money Good little mower for older people. Light enough to push when the grass isn't too thick or long. Can move at your own pace on those achy days, and stop whenever you need to because the engine is so easy to restart. Must remember to check oil levels initially, and also must use an additive in the regular gas containing ethanol. Occasionally in the initial mowing, the wheel-height changed abruptly while in use and blade dug into the ground --uncool; seems to have stabilized so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tank The last one one you will ever need. Starts on first pull, make sure you hold down the engine bail before pulling starter rope. Never use ethanol fuel and she will take care of you. July 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wheel adjustment issues I loved the easy two point height adjustment (main reason for making the selection); however, the fourth time I adjusted the height the unit failed to hold the adjustment for more than two passes over a flat residential lawn the adjustment arm "pops" off the locating pin. I'm still impressed by the torque under most circumstances and well into the second mowing season, it has never failed to start first or second pull. If you set the height and never adjust it again . . . it's a good value . . . i recommend with the aforementioned issue. July 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mower for Entry-level Commercial Use I bought this mower about 3 months ago, at my local Home Depot store, and have been using it as my primary mower for the Lawncare/Landscape business I started, I have roughly 10 yards I mow weekly, so this mower gets used and abused a lot. starts on the first pull just about every time, and the cut quality is pretty nice, mulches very well, although I have not used the bag feature yet, put it look like a very well thought out design. And its not made in some 3rd world backlot factory, most of the components are made in either Mexico or here in the US, and parts are very easy to come by for quick servicing. Look forward to many years with this mower as my company grows. June 7, 2016
