Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nibiru2012 Very Good Lawnmower - Poor Design on Front Wheel Height Adjuters
This review pertains to the Lawn Boy mower itself and a factory assembly issue on the front axle and the poor quality and design of the OEM mower blade.
First of all the engine on this mower is excellent! Always starts within 1-2 pulls.
Second, my unit arrived with the front wheel adjuster not properly aligned on the wheel axle causing it to not mesh properly with the adjuster bumps on the black front bumper. This caused the plastic bumps to shear off under the slightest stress. I had to order a new bumper from Lawn Boy for $12.50 plus shipping. Also the wheel height was off from front to rear, the front dropping lower versus the rear wheels when setting the the same adjustment bumps. It was visibly noticeable!
I decided to take the wheel off of the axle shaft to oil it and to check the condition of the adjuster arm. I did not realize is was not aligned properly from the factory. When I reassembled it there's a hole in the arm's mounting portion next to the hole for the axle. It is supposed to lock into a locating pin on the axle shaft assembly. When I did that... shazaam! (See attached diagram below.) The adjuster now properly aligned with the adjustment bumps on the black front bumper assembly. The mower would now sit level when using the same bumper adjustment from front to rear.
Also, the stock OEM blade is a poor excuse for a mower blade!!
DO NOT USE IT! It's poorly made with the ends sloping downwards from where the sharpened edge begins to the end of the blade. About 6 inches or so and the slope is about 1/4" downward. So the really only effective cutting is occurring on the first 1/2" or so of the blade's cutting edges. Plus it's a thin blade made of soft steel.
Replace it as soon as possible with an OREGON brand model 96-660 G3 Gator Blade! Thicker metal and powder-coated finish, steel is highly tempered too! Took me about four times longer to get a good sharp edge on this blade versus the OEM Lawn Boy blade. You must sharpen the Gator blade before using it because they powder-coat it including the cutting edges. This blade sits flat and level along the cutting edges so you get 100% of the total cutting edge working for you.
The Oregon 96-660 G3 Gator Blade is a far superior blade and you won't regret purchasing it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dtwest73 Decent mower, runs great, however...
Bought this mower near the end of the cutting season 2015. The mower runs and cuts well. The wheel adjustments make cutting height simple. Here's the however part. The rear wheel adjuster will not stay where it's put. This started the first time I used it. I would hit a rough spot or bump in yard and the adjuster would move between settings. Now, this summer, it has gotten where after rolling a few feet, the back adjuster will drop all the way down. No local service. I have been told it will have to be sent off for repair. If someone could offer a remedy for this, that would be great.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TJ2 Worst grass collection design ever!
Yes the lawn mower starts right up almost all the time. It says that right on the top for you to see. But I needed a mower that collects the grass this thing has the worst design in capturing the grass- after you mow about 6 feet of your lawn no matter the length or height adjustment the door to the bag gets clogged with clippings and the mower turns into a mulching GRASS PUKING MACHINE. Literally I spend more time picking up piles and cleaning the side walk/drive way than mowing. Wife hates to mow due to the mess- she use to mow all the time. My neighbors get a kick out of watching the event and take note not to buy this green mess of a mower. Tried every trick n advice from this manufacture - same result I am done with this after 1.5 years. Wasted my money! Going to buy a different brand this spring. I have some good picks of the aftermath mess this thing creates.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Scott Run out the door on Lawnboy....JUNK!!!!
My yard is smallish as I have a 20 foot X 50 foot section of grass in the backyard here in Arizona. I bought this mower partly because of the "Easy start Guarantee" Yeah, what a load of BS this warranty is. I used the mower three times after putting in the provided oil, used new gas with provided gas treatment, etc. I put a cover over it after each use and keep it in my garage. Well, after the 3rd time of use (6 weeks of ownership) it would NOT START! I called and they gave me the number of a "reputable" repair service. Well, they said it was their slow season, yet it took them over two weeks to look at it. I finally received a call and they told me that the whole fuel system had to be cleaned due to 'bad gas" SURPRISE!!!! The warranty does not cover this "bad gas" issue so $76.00 later, I am screwed. So I called and customer service instructs me to take the extra gas out after each mowing use....WHAT????? I am working on returning this absolute piece of JUNK!!!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BIGLOVE101 It fits my needs.
I purchased the 10730 model 8-26-2016. I set out to cut my lawn and and 2 of my neighbors, we live in row homes. but we have front and back lawns. To my surprise this Lawn Boy lawn mower was extremely easy to set up. I set out to cut at 1130a I was cutting by 12p. The mower started on the first pull!
All 3 of the lawns I had to cut were over 12in high. I adjusted the height of the lawn mower and plowed right through it, I had to tilt and jocky the mower accordingly. It cut off a couple of times, only because the grass was still wet and very heavy, thanks morning Dew. lol.. I ran it hard for about 45 minutes. Hardly any fuel was used. So far I'm thoroughly impressed with the Lawn Boy 10730 with the Kohler 6.5, 149cc engine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by frozintime Same basic mower I bought 9 years ago, and runs great still
I bought my lawn boy 10 years ago and have had zero problems except having to change the blade about every other year. We have lots of granite and rock....i mow 10 to 15 times a year most years.....2 to 3 times a month depending on the growth....this year I only had to mow twice as we had no rain! Anyhow...I have changed the oil 3 times total(after 1st year, then 4th year and this year) .....I drain the gas and choke it out everytime I stop it or store it. Had zero maintenance issues. I think this is exactly the same as mine. Kohler 6.5 HP engine.....looks the same and I think I couldn't recommend another mower. Paid 200 bucks then, and I really didn't need anything fancy.....it has really done the job well. It starts on 1st or 2nd pull, and I just run the gas out of it for winter......check the oil to make sure of no condensation after winter, but thats it. Was a great buy, and I think its gonna go another 10 at least....no rust and I live on saltwater.....but not this.
