I purchased this mower in July of 2014. Mower was easy to assemble. Started on the first pull and worked great. Used this mower 3 times. On the 4th try it would not start. Took the mower back to Home Depot and they informed me that I would have to take it to a shop and have it looked at under the warranty. Took the mower to a shop and they were not suprised to see it. They told me there was no fuel filter and that the carb gets clogged. They fixed the mower (under warranty) and it started again with no problem. Went to mow the lawn today and it won't start. Used this mower 7 times total. This is 2015, who thought it would be a good idea to not put a fuel filter on the engine. I will be contacting the company to see what my options are. I will post again after I have spoken with them to tell you the outcome. I purposely didn't purchase the cheapest or the most expensive, but for about 250.00 all in I would thinik it should work for more than 7 times. Does anyone make a product worth buying anymore?

WARNING ON THIS PRODUCT - Have owned this mower for 3 years and it has been in the shop 4 times. We have used the mower 25 times - over the last 3 years - had to use a lawn service. The pull cord broke once - the mower does not start. We brought it into one local service center for Lawn-Boy and the first authorized repair center had it for two weeks on Milwaukee Avenue- Chicago (fixed the pull start). After we got the mower back, it did not start the second time that we tried to use it. We took it back to the same service center but they were now out of business. Brought it to Russo Hardware in Jefferson Park and they attempted to fix the mower. The mower ran for 4 week and then would not start. Brought it back to Russo Hardware and brought it home after taking it a second time and the mower would not start again.
Pretty handy guy and the CEO of a company - replaced the spark plug, new gas, used a cleaner in the take - all to no avail.
Really disappointed in Lawn-Boy - but really disappointed in Kohler (beware of a Kohler engine - they are bad)!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mowininillinois Some quality control issues.
When the mower arrived, one side of the handle assembly attached to the machine was bent outward. I had to bend it back so that the top part of the assembly would fit flush. Worse, the front wheel assembly spun freely because the height adjustment handle was too far from the adjusting mechanism on the mower. Rather than go through the hassle of returning it, I bent the handle in, but this messed up the height adjustment between the front and rear wheels. I then installed two washers on the wheel assembly and this moved the adjustment lever closer to the adjusting tabs. The front adjusting assembly seems cheaply made. I don't know how this defect got past inspection. Other than these issues, the mower works fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RH12901 Good quality for money, not loud, Kohler engine starts up like it says.
Just like it says easy set up out of the box, add oil and fuel 1st pull. Mulches nice but throws a little grass up in front. Mower is a lot quiet compare to most mowers, I would say the Kohler is as quiet as the Honda. The grass catcher is big and the mower pushes very easy and is very light. I would like to see lawnboy put a hose attachment on the deck of the mower for cleaning. You can't go wrong for the money very inexpensive compared to other mowers. I would recommend this mower to anyone. I just gave a snapper away for $125.00 with a 7.25hp briggs and Stratton engine, front wheel drive and the mower was only used five times and paid over $300.00 for it. I must say my new Lawnboy puts that mower to shame.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Daddy1 I like it, so far.
Just gave the yard it's first mowing with my new Lawnboy/Kohler. It breezed through the job .
So far I like the mower very much. Assembly out of the box was easy. Just attach the handle, fill the crankcase with oil, gas in the tank, and it started with the first pull. The 149cc ohv engine has good power , much stronger and quieter than my old Murray 20" with an L head Briggs and Stratton 900 series engine.
I was attracted to this mower against comparable makes and models because of other reviews , reputation, as well as the warranty.
I'm still a bit skeptical about all the plastic in key areas such as what the wheels and height adjustment mounts to. That's why I gave a bit less on the quality . To be honest, in my shopping around every other mower in this size and price range has the same issue with plastic so there's not much one can do.
So far I'm excited about my new mower, but time will tell. This Lawn boy is replacing a tough Murray that lasted through 17 years of use and abuse before giving out.

So disappointed with this lawn mower. It was easy to assemble out of the box but the positives stopped here. It takes many tries to start - even though it is supposed to be an easy start product. It bags incredibly poorly - more than half never ends up in the bag but on the lawn instead. Might as well not even use the bag. It doesn't mulch very well and it clogs with almost every use and half to be sprayed out. I had hoped that it just needed to some usage time but after 2 month it is still nothing but problems.
