Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JB I like (not love) this mower. I'm a 29 year old female and have been mowing lawns for 20 years. I have a small yard with sand-based soil and some large lilac bushes, so it was important to get a mower with rear-wheel drive. My Craftsman lawn mower broke down with only a month left of mowing season so I wanted to buy something inexpensive. I paid just over $300 for the Lawn Boy and have used it twice - once with the bag and once without. The gas start-up is not as good as it claims to be. It usually takes at least 3 times. The bag does not seem to collect as much grass as it should - it gets stuck underneath. Also, the bag's opening is kind of an awkward shape, so it's difficult to get the grass from the mower to a yard bag. I like that the mower is fast, that was one of my biggest gripes on my Craftsman. Overall it's a decent product, especially for the price.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Erik Quality was not what was expected
This mower was light and had the nice feature of electric start. However, It did not hold up after 10 minutes. The front wheels came off while mowing and were ruined by the blades. It was unusable after that. Also, the rear wheel drive seemed a little weak. Too bad, because its hard to find a decent light mower.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HRG123 Part Finally Arrive, Works ok.
The missing part finally arrived and I was able to actually use the product. It doesn't appear that I can edit my last review so I'll make another. It wasn't that great. For starters, that electric starter didn't cooperate. It often took several attempts to get it to start. And I had to make several attempts because the mower kept stopping. It was having trouble due to how long my grass was, which of course it had gotten so long because it took forever to get the missing part. I kept having to adjust the height until I found one the mower liked. I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to work at the height I like.
Another issue is that it's supposed to be self-propelled, but it didn't really work well unless it was on a flat area. But the whole reason to get a self-propelled mower is because you don't have a totally flat yard and you want the mower to go up inclines without having to over-exert yourself. Very important for people like me that are getting older and have a few health issues.
As of now, I would not recommend this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Trishalito Crossed Wires
This lawnmower is better than expected, easy to use, but came with the wires crossed so baffled me for a week trying to figure out why it would not start.
The booklet is lacking in a lot of information. There is no clear idea as to what engine additive to use and where you can buy it. Even though you purchase through Home Depot, you are buying online and are really on your own. Now that I have used the first tank of gas I am running around town trying to find the correct additive for the engine before I mow a second time.
You cannot take the mower to the store for help, it does spin its wheels on a slight grade, but it is 1/2 the weight of the $800 Snapper I had for years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Retired66 Very nice
I am a 66 retired woman. I ordered on line. Unit came within a week. It was easy to put together. However I recommend you only use recreation fuel (no ethanol). It's more expensive but you use so little it's worth it. I used ethanol at first with the additive and had nothing but problems.

Easy set up, I love the key start. I had a few minor issues with initial charge and key start. Just make sure all connections are tight.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HRG123 Still waiting for missing part.
It arrived missing a part. That was on August 30. I called immediately and was told that a replacement would be sent out right away. I don't really understand why I can just go done to my local store and get it, but apparently it has to be sent to me. Except it hasn't been sent. I'm still waiting and my lawn is starting to look like a small jungle.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Riverrat THis is a very good mower I hope that it is dependable
When we first got this mower there were some issues that had to be rectified to be able to use it.
The front wheel axle wasn't locked in place and the little latch for the height adjustment for the front wheels needed to be bent in so that they would lock into position.
The handle that engages the self propelled part was hanging by the cable and needed to be re-attached.
Other than that we put in the gas and oil and connected up the battery charger to it and let it sit for a couple of days to charge the battery and then it started right up.
I hope that this mower lives up to the lawn-boy brand.
