This lawnmower is better than expected, easy to use, but came with the wires crossed so baffled me for a week trying to figure out why it would not start.
The booklet is lacking in a lot of information. There is no clear idea as to what engine additive to use and where you can buy it. Even though you purchase through Home Depot, you are buying online and are really on your own. Now that I have used the first tank of gas I am running around town trying to find the correct additive for the engine before I mow a second time.
You cannot take the mower to the store for help, it does spin its wheels on a slight grade, but it is 1/2 the weight of the $800 Snapper I had for years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Riverrat THis is a very good mower I hope that it is dependable
When we first got this mower there were some issues that had to be rectified to be able to use it.
The front wheel axle wasn't locked in place and the little latch for the height adjustment for the front wheels needed to be bent in so that they would lock into position.
The handle that engages the self propelled part was hanging by the cable and needed to be re-attached.
Other than that we put in the gas and oil and connected up the battery charger to it and let it sit for a couple of days to charge the battery and then it started right up.
I hope that this mower lives up to the lawn-boy brand.

Great mower. Very few near Harrison, Ohio who will do warranty work on this brand of mower or Kohler engine. Lawnboy needs to make "major"improvements in area !!!!

The starting system works well but it seems that the electric starter motor could be used as a generator to trickle charge a battery (nickle cad? or lithium ion?) so a separate charger would not be required.
Also the configuration of the clutch lever arm is not configured for a person with small hands. That causes an awkward and tiring hand position. Can you recommend a fix?
In my previous mower the rear grass deflector is flexible allowing it to rest on the handle when open allowing easy handling of the grass catcher.
Although these items may seem minor to you (have you field tested the mower with a range of testers?) but it makes a world of difference to most users.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tony Worst mower ever purchased
This Lawn Boy product is an overall poorly made product. Purchased said mower on 7/5/15 from HD and it has been in shop for the following repairs since early June 2016. Rear drive wheels lock-up when trying to move backward after releasing self drive mechanism. Mower pulls to left when mowing realized height adjustment latch keeps failing and causing height latch to disengage from position. Battery won't hold charge needs to be recharged after each use. Now the good stuff authorized Lawn Boy servicer ( Jacks small engine ) says it will take weeks to get parts-and supposedly Battery only covered for 90 Days. Warranty information says 1 year so I guess that needs to be resolved @ some point once other parts are in and mower fixed. Do yourself a favor and buy something other than this unit.

Lawnboy does not honor their "full 2 year warranty" on their warranties except if there is a problem in the first month. They will tell you that the problem was caused by the user, not the company, so you are out of luck if the lawn mower breaks down after its initial use. Lawnboy use to make a reliable, well made lawn mower that lasted for years, but not anymore. One repair shop said that their lawn mower is nothing more than a "throwaway, disposable item" . Another shop said that they do not honor their warranties and does not want to get involved unless you just purchased it. Beware of a recommended repair shop that they refer you to and will take the lawn mower in.

I have had this mower for about 3 weeks now. I love it. The electric start is worth the additional cost. I am a senior citizen and cut almost a half acre every week. No more fighting a cord or waiting for someone to start it for me
