Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Sidekick! The Leatherman Sidekick is too cool for school! I teach high school Chemistry and Physics, the sidekick is there whenever there's a job to be done or a repair to be made; it's handy, convenient and lives conveniently in my backpack. January 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't live without it! It's a pocket toolkit! I've assembled and disassembled tons of things with this tool! Rarely have I needed to dip into my toolbox for a "regular" tool. This is the more "outdoorsy" version of the "wingman" tool in that it has a saw (instead of scissors) and a short serrated blade (instead of a plastic package cutter). The only caution - be careful when you access the file as it sits right next to the serrated blade. I nipped my thumb pretty good (the blades are sharp!). Once the tool breaks in a bit, there is no difficulty accessing the smaller tools. I picked up a couple of these! January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good pocket tool Not as useful as the bigger tools, but beats the heck out of just a pocket knife which is what I've got by with since losing my SOG multi. No, didn't come with the carabiner clip/tool, but for $18 it has Leatherman quality and warranty. The pocket clip lets it easily take the spot of my trusty knife, and add 13 more tools. I'm going back to get a few more as gifts, and maybe even a backup or two. I'm writing this review at night after the first day using this handy tool, so no pic available till later. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd Leatherman I've owned. Like them better then my Gerber I got this on the after Christmas clearance at Home Depot for $11.00 2 years ago. Mine came with a carabiner keychain with bottle opener that has come in very handy. I used to own the original Leatherman from the 90's for many years and loved it until I lost it. The Sidekick has some better features than the original but it also has some that are not as good. The spring-loaded handles are awesome and one of my favorite features about it. Also love the serrated blade and saw. I use the saw for drywall all the time! The blade stays sharp for a long time also. The tools that I don't think are as good as the original are the philips screw driver, it is flat and does the job most of the time but the phillips head on the first gen was a full size and had a better bite for rusty or stubborn screws, The wire cutters on this are not as good either, they do not completely touch so the wire does not cut clean. The first gen wire cutters overlapped like scissors and cut thru wire like butter. All in all for $11.00 it's been an asset to my work as a contractor. April 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality and sturdy design Have had a few knock off multi-tools before but figured I'd pick up the real deal with this Sidekick. Very pleased with its functionality and design. Everything snaps together perfectly. Really like how the regular blade and saw blade knives are made for quick access and with safety lock feature for both. Very compact and easy to use. Great little tool and definitely worthy of the Leatherman name. December 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Multi-tool! This is another great Leatherman tool product. I picked up the last one they had on clearance for $9.00. I would have picked up some more to have for that price. It has just about all the tools you will need on it. Very sturdy and the spring loaded pliers are nice. You can't beat their warranty. 25 years! All you do is ship it back if it's broken and get a new one. March 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Leatherman Sidekick...Get one! I am very happy with this purchase. I have the sidekick as well as the wingman. Both are quality items and perform well. The sidekick comes with a pocket clip but I find it a little to large and heavy to go in my pocket comfortably. I knew it was heavy when I purchased it, I think I may get a sheath and wear it on my belt. I don't always need my sidekick but whenever I do need it, I am thankful to have it handy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good tool for the price This is not as robust of a multi-tool as other offerings from Leatherman, but the Sidekick is a decent tool to have as a backup. I like the pliers being spring-loaded so it is easier to work one-handed or on repetitive tasks. I wouldn't torque it as much as I would my Wave but I think it would handle some decent pressures when screwing and unscrewing. Main blade is accessible with tool closed, which is nice. No sheath.
