CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Warning - Metric U-Bolt This seemed like a resonable purchase - about $5 for a stainless steel set - but as I started to install, I found that none of my nut drivers would fit it. A measurement with a caliper revealed that the nuts are 7mm rather than an English measurement. I do have a 7mm driver, but it is not deep enough to tighten all the way down. I did not have a way to easily verify that the threads were actually metric as well, but a quick try with several similar-sized nuts did not find any to fit, so I assume that they are. Yes, one can use an adjustible wrench, but, on something this small with something as squirrly as wire rope, that is annoying at the least. I know that these things are made in China, but they could - and should - be manufactured to English measurements if for sale in the US. I'm a believer in the superiority of the metric system, but I do face reality! August 12, 2014
