If you've read my first review..... I have an update. The packaging issues haven't changed, but my opinion of the table and chairs HAS. I followed the option of adding sand to the table. You must drill your own holes for the sand. (I used a 1" drill bit and found insulation plugs @25 cents each to plug the holes. It would be nice if plugs were supplied or offered, too.) Now that I've done that, I'm absolutely satisfied with the end result and the product. The table is 100% more stable. The chairs are sturdy. I expect the set to wear well with time. If you take the time to do what I did, I think you'll find it well-worth the trouble.

Received this shipment "thrown" in a cardboard box. No plastic wrapping of pieces. No instructions. It was quite dusty. I figured out how to put the table together but needed help with the stools. Spent time making calls and did get good customer service help. Once the directions were e-mailed to me, the rest was quite easy. THANK GOODNESS I didn't guess on how to put the chairs together, as it could easily have gone wrong. As it is, I didn't know sand could be added to the table BEFORE assembly. The table is rather tipsy, but the added weight of same would probably have helped!!! (If you look at the base, you can see how little extension there is at the bottom.) NOTE: We're using this on an outdoor cement pad. If it's not completely level, you'll have some wobbling with the table.... as we do. (I have a mark on the best spot to place it.)
The chairs are quite strong and stable, as I'd read in other reviews. That was most important to me, so I'm pleased with them. Once I cleaned the pieces, they looked very nice. (Should I have had to do this???)
