I want that switch to power an outlet, and a switch to an outside light. I'm bringing the hot black to one terminal, pigtailing the black to the outlet and the black to the light switch to connect to the other terminal. All whites connected to go thru. At the second switch, black from first switch to one terminal, black from light to other terminal. At the outlet black from first switch to gold terminal and white to silver. When I check the status of the outlet with my tester, I have a faint light on the tester even when the first switch is off, then brighter light on the tester when switch is on. Is this normal because of the lighted switch? Doesn't seem right to me.? Am I going to have to run the power from the outlet to the second switch to make this work?

Answer:
A lighted switch will have some let-through voltage downstream in the "Off" position, as it is used to power the switch's internal bulb. For wiring assistance, call tech support at 800.824.3005.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Purchase ever 15/20-AMP Single-Pole Industrial Illuminated Toggle Switch. Light went out; switch still worked. These things used to last almost forever. Levitron, but made in China? Pathetic. November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A rugged switch that can take abuse. I put this switch in my electronic workshop to control power to my test bench. It works perfectly and especially like the lighted toggle. October 9, 2012
