Customer Reviews

1x6 Cat5E Voice and Data Expansion Board is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, Albeit Expensive I use the voice/data board to terminate the Cat 5e wire runs from the various rooms in my house. This product makes wiring and later modifying your computer network easy, and the color-coded terminals make hooking it up simple. I use short patch cables to go from this board to my router. I have it mounted into a small cabinet in which I have my cable modem, router and switch. A friend of mine has one of the structured media center cabinets from this same manufacturer. These boards mount nicely in that enclosure, but they are not big enough to hold one's cable modem, routers, switches, etc. That's why I went with a cheap cabinet. My only real complaint about this product is the price. $29 seems like a lot to pay for a simple PC board with some connectors on it. Compare the cost of this product to that of a 10/100 Base-T switch. A five port switch can be had for the same price or less, has more parts and is more complex. So why does this thing cost so much?
