Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pointman Design flaw in the wire release mechanism
It took me some time to figure out what is wrong with the switch. The wire pushed into its respective hole will not hold. I bought two new switches and experimented with the connection and removal of the wires. I found out that once the release tab is pushed (and the wire removed), the contact mechanism is permanently deformed (damaged) so that pushing the "new" wire will not hold. Basically it is a cheap one-time design for the spring-loaded wire holder.
In other words, once the wire is releases, you cannot use the spring loaded holes anymore. Try the side terminals.

Two of the three switches I bought were defective, and did not work following installation. Not a good batting average.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hdisgreat1 A great and inexpensive update!
We purchased these switches to update our 1960's recent home purchase that had all original switches. The old switches were dirty and mismatched from repairs over the years. After spending some time looking at the diagram to figure out how to install a 3-way switch, the installation was easy. They immediately updated the house and look great. This is an easy way to update your home and make it look like you've really spent some time on the details.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Randy999 Good standard grade switch
I've been replacing all the outlets and switches in my house with Leviton's decorator line with good results for standard grade devices. However, the hookup diagram on the inside of the package is drawn in a pictorial rather than schematic fashion and is incomprehensable. Please use a standard schematic diagram which is at least understandable to us electrical gurus.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lynk I would prefer the insert and tighten type rather than wrap around
These swithes are OK but if I have the choice even as signifigantly greater cost, (because it makes the job so much easier) I will buy similar swithces that allow me to insert the line then tighten down the conductor rather than the type that wrap around the screw. I will not use the option that allows you to insert the conductor without the ability to tighten the connection

This rocker switch has added an updated look to our home. We have slowly changed all of our old switches over to these and are quite happy with the result. Good quality product at an affordable price!
